i hooked up a netgear repeater to my belkin n450db router and it shows a good connection betw router and extender and between extender and device (laptop and tv) however only a lan connection - no internet.

View 1 Replies View RelatedThe setup: My main router is a Belkin N. It is the DHCP controller. I have another Belkin N router connected by CAT5/RJ45, and DHCP is turned off. Each router has a different SSID, and WPA2//AES/TKIP is the security. The purpose of the second router is to act as an access point and extend the wireless range. Now I need to extend it further, but without through wireless. I had a G bridge connected to the second Belkin, and it in turn connected to a third router which was G. This worked but was sporadic. I bought an Amped SR150 N repeater to replace the bridge and third router.The repeater will connect to the second router with no problem. It shows the IP of the main router as the gateway IP. The laptop that the repeater is connected to then received an IP from the main router. However, the laptop has no internet. It also will not go to the IP of the main router.I tested the repeater by connecting it to the main router. That works fine, and the laptop gets internet. I tested the second router capability by connecting the laptop to it through wireless. That works fine to, and the laptop can go to the home page of both the main and second router. When I put the repeater back into the mix, the laptop does the same tihng: It gets a new IP from the main router, but no internet, and it will not go to the homepage of the main router.

Gigabit Switch
IBM x3100 M4 w/Xeon E3 1230, 16GB ECC DDR3 RAM Running SBS 2011 Standard
Custom PC with Win7 Pro, i7 3770, 12GB DDR3 RAM
What I would like to do is setup sbs 2011 as the domain controller and have the custom pc on that domain.Comcast business cable modem/router is set for defaults, handing out dhcp.
Both Server and custom pc are hooked into the switch which is hooked into the comcast router.SBS 2011 I believe I set it up with the default settings. Updated it so all the patches are on it. It sees the comcast router and connects to the internet no problem.
Custom PC is sees the comcast router no problem and gets its ip address from there like normal.When trying to join the domain on the sbs computer the custom computer cannot find it even though I can ping the server.
I am having a bit of trouble. I have a Belkin router (this is irrelevant) across the house, which is extended by the Belkin wireless bridge/repeater in my bedroom. The device in my room boosts my WiFi signal for my MacBook and iPhone, and the LAN (ethernet) port on the back allows my Debian server to connect to the network and internet. I have a Linksys switch that I wish to use, for I have another computer that requires an ethernet connection. Still, the newer one is only less older than my Pre-N Belkin router that I had sitting around but never opened and installed (F5D8231-4). Anyway, I finally decided to set it up. I was trying to log into the router to set security settings and to update the firmware but when I type the IP address into the address bar in IE or Firefox, it is partially blank. There are no functional buttons. I can connect it to my Nexus tablet, to my desk-top and my lap-top, so I know there is nothing wrong with the router itself. After I straightened out the mess of wires from everything and made sure all the connections were good all the other components including my satellite modem were working fine, but the wireless router won't reconnect.
