I am trying to use f5d7230-4 v6000 to connect my TV and Playstation to my home WLAN, but cannot set up the router to receive the signal from the base station (FRITZ!Box). Is it possible at all to use f5d7230-4 v6000 for such function?

Can I use my F5D7230-4 as an access point? I need to provide a hardwired ethernet connection to my A/V reciever but not have a wired port in the area of my house. I have an existing wireless router thru Century Link. Could I have the Belkin attach itself to the wireless network and then have a cat 5 come out of one of the four ports to connect my A/V reciever to the network?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a Belkin G router F5D7230-4 (firmware version 8.01.07) and am trying to view stats on what is using our connection.We have a very low capacity, rural wireless broadband that our ISP tells us is maxed out all the time, even when we don't appear to be using any devices, so I'd like to view the traffic on our DHCP client list to see which device is using an excessive amount of bandwith and put a limit on its access.I don't see a statistics tab on the setup page, is there another place to look or does Belkin have an external program to do this?

I can't seem to stream media content from my windows 7 pc to my lg tv (model 55 lw 6500), and wonder if the age of the router is part of the problem; 2. some iptv channels on my ps3 are slow to load menus, though programs run fine when I push play (I gather ps3 is restricted to wireless g but if I upgraded the router I would plug in the ps3 using cat6). When I speed test my internet connection I'll typically get results around 2.5-5 Mbps. I'm impressed that a router of this age performs so well it isn't obvious to me that upgrading will improve the setup.

I am trying to use the "My PLEX" feature of "PLEX" to stream my content to the internet and access it on a Nook or iPod from any internet hot spot. This requires that the router supports DLNA. I am not sure what this is and am not successful at this so far.
Although it may sound like I know what I'm talking about I am at my limit and do not know how to determine if my router will support DLNA.
Is it time to get a new router or is there something I need to do to the router so it supports DLNA?
Im trying to setup my wireless router I've had for a while to have a password.It has been unsecured since I've had it.I have the manual but not the install wizard.I tried probably a hundred times but cant seen to get it right.The model is F5D7230-4.I called the support number. Over the years there have been a lot of connections, most are no longer around but the Belkin holds on to the list. I can find no way to clear it to get it back to what is currently connected. I have tried a soft reboot, unplugging power etc but it seems like I will have to do a factory reset and apart from not being able to find my ADSL login details, I would have to reset all my settings.

I've connected the belkin by cable to the portable and disabled the DCHP and clicked on set up as an access point, set up wifi security and password, but when i am trying to reset the IP address I end up having to reset the router and start all over again.
I have done all the resets, factory resets, hard resets, and any other names. When I attempt to enter any sort of IP addresses,default Belkins and ones I see when viewing ipconfig, all it does is perform a Google Search with the numbers.Again, turning on wireless on my laptop and phone fail to find my router, which used to just be called "Belkin".Here is all the info that I believe you need:

I have a 2nd pc that i want to add to my basic home network. I have installed a fresh copy of Windows 7 Ultimate 64bit yet still have issues connecting to my router. There is basic activity but nothing on the internet I have tried to use command line netsh to force DHCP on it says it is but I am getting a subnet mask of 255.255.0.0 when everything else is 255.255.255.0 not sure if this matters as there are only 4 devices on the network.
View 2 Replies View RelatedFive months ago we moved into a new apartment, and connected up our broadband; the ISP provides a Thomson Speedtouch modem (ST546 v6), which I understand from Tech Support is running software v4 (it was issued with V5, but rolled back to V4 for stability issues).We prefer a WiFi network, so purchased a Belkin N Wireless Modem Router (F5D8636-4 v2); I connected it up ditching the ISP issued modem, and all worked well for four months. Suddenly it refused to see the ADSL connection - orange light flashing.So after four nights of 'fault resolution' with Belkin, they decided to send me a replacement... which I finally received last night. It didn't work - same problem, flashing orange light.I have the correct user name and password for the ISP - checked it not once, not twice, but four times. The Thomson Speedtouch works, but doesn't provide a WiFi environment. Can I connect the Belkin modem router into the back of the Thomson and transmitt/carry the WiFi signal that way, and if so, how? I tried (the obvious to me) plug a ethernet cable from the Thomson modem into the Belkin, but nothing.. I'm guessing there are a few important steps I missed.

View 2 Replies View RelatedIm able to create a gateway tunnel with two rv042 routers in different locations ( i can see the tunnel connected in the router) but the quick vpn utility is not working , i also tried to use the pptp as server as an alternative( im able to connect using windows connection to the pptp server but whenever I browse any of the four ip's allowed for the pptp server \10.0.0.200-204 it takes me to the documents of the local computer....I attached the configuration for one of the routers it is the same as the other end , just the information is flipped.

I have a v6000 laptop that just will not connect via wireless for no apparent reason it just decided to not work. I can connect using cable but not wirelessly.

View 1 Replies View RelatedThe setup: My main router is a Belkin N. It is the DHCP controller. I have another Belkin N router connected by CAT5/RJ45, and DHCP is turned off. Each router has a different SSID, and WPA2//AES/TKIP is the security. The purpose of the second router is to act as an access point and extend the wireless range. Now I need to extend it further, but without through wireless. I had a G bridge connected to the second Belkin, and it in turn connected to a third router which was G. This worked but was sporadic. I bought an Amped SR150 N repeater to replace the bridge and third router.The repeater will connect to the second router with no problem. It shows the IP of the main router as the gateway IP. The laptop that the repeater is connected to then received an IP from the main router. However, the laptop has no internet. It also will not go to the IP of the main router.I tested the repeater by connecting it to the main router. That works fine, and the laptop gets internet. I tested the second router capability by connecting the laptop to it through wireless. That works fine to, and the laptop can go to the home page of both the main and second router. When I put the repeater back into the mix, the laptop does the same tihng: It gets a new IP from the main router, but no internet, and it will not go to the homepage of the main router.

When the router is restarted using the menu software it will run quicker, but only for 20-30 second then back to a slow speed. View 9 Replies View RelatedI have wireless router F5D9230-4. I use this every day to connect to my employer's corporate network from my home, using a VPN connection via Cisco AnyConnect Mobility Client.
Just about every day my VPN connection is interrupted and, although it "thinks" it is connected, it loses connectivity to my company's corporate resources. This occurs even though I'm connected to my router using a Cat5 cable. While this VPN connection is lost, my Internet connection keeps working.
When I use the same computer, even wireless, connected through other networks outside of my home, the VPN connection is never lost (or at least never that I remember).
When I wire my computer directly to my cable modem, this problem does not occur and my VPN connection stays connected throughout the day.
Note that I reset my wireless router to all default settings other than the password to access its management utility, to avoid any "weird settings" coming into play.
I wonder if this has to do with "VPN Passthrough" or the windows 7 firewall conflicting with my router's firewall?
I've been working with the IT department at my job for weeks on this and a resolution doesn't seem to be coming from that direction. I'm on calls every day that use this VPN connection and it's to the point where these VPN connection losses are embarrassing to me.
