Laptop Will Not Connect To T-mobile Hotspot Via Wifi
Jun 11, 2011
I just purchased a T-Mobile hotspot (ZTE) yesterday. It can connect to the T-Mobile network and appears to be working fine. My Wii can connect wirelessly to the the hotspot, but my laptop can only connect to the internet through the USB cord (which it's really not supposed to, because that's supposed to be for charging the device). When I try to connect via wifi to my hotspot, my computer can detect the network. However, after I immediately enter my password, it says that it cannot connect. When I click "Diagnose the problem" it says there was a timeout.I have Windows Vista and one of the tech support people mentioned that Windows Vista sometimes has problems connecting with handshake devices (but he didn't know how to fix it). Another person said I should have about 20 seconds to type in my password, so it shouldn't be timing out so quickly. Is it something with my computer? I have a Compaq Presario CQ60. I had this same problem when I tried to connect to a friend's hotspot a couple weeks ago (I don't remember if it was also T-Mobile or another provider, though).
Anyway, I have a Toshiba Satellite L645D-S4056 with Win7 Home Premium 64-bit. I've had it almost a year now and have never had trouble connecting to public wifi.Recently, I moved into a new apartment with free wifi and I seem to catch the signal from my apt even though it is poor. Every time I try to connect with my Toshiba it says, "Windows is unable to connect to 'linksys'." However, my husband's HP laptop and my old eMachines laptop (7yr old) (which I am using to research the problem) can connect with absolutely no issues. When I go to the clubhouse, my Toshiba can connect, however it cannot identify the network and does not receive an actual internet connection.
So far, I have uninstalled/reinstalled and updated my network adapter (Realtek RTL8188CE), I've used Command Prompt ipconfig /reset and ipconfig /release along with several other commands suggested to other wifi connection problemsI've checked my DHCP and DNS to ensure they're enabled. As for firewalls, I have turned off windows firewall and have disabled Kaspersky protection, however I have yet to uninstall and reinstall, this being because I can connect to a password prompted internet connection at work.I am unsure how to check my IP address or any of that
i got my samsung galaxy s duos...i wanna connect my mobile to laptop for internet using wi fi and also i have mts data card so how to connect frm lap to my mobile for internet using mts data card.??
I am using a Compaq Presario Laptop and i recently bought a new new mobile which has Wifi. Now I want to connect it to my pc via wifi. I know nothing about wireless networking or wifi.
Couldn't connect to mobile hotspot but could connect to other networks, none of which were from a phone. When attempting to connect to hotspot, my phone displays the information of my computer as name unknown, IP address 0.0.0.0, but gives a MAC address. (My computer has a name, I can't find my IP address, idk what a MAC address is)I tried using remote desktop connection, but the computer I was trying to connect to couldn't find mine.
To be honest, I'm not sure I did it correctly, though.Displayed as 0.0.0.0 on phone when attempting to connect to mobile hotspot.I typed ipconfig in command prompt but got nothing about an IP address. There were several lines that began with "Tunnel adapter" all followed by "Media State : Media Disconnected" then "Connection-specific DNS Suffix: I currently have no internet connection (I'm on my phone), so I can't find it that way either.
Under Network Location it specifies that it cannot connect to MEMORYCARD (\EPSON00) (Z:) and upon clicking on it I receive an error message: "Microsoft Windows Network: The network path was not found. This connection has not been restored."I've spilled water on my keyboard before, but this took place after these problems arose. I dried the computer and had it sit with rice for 2 days. The only issue that came of this incident that I am aware of was a few stuck keys.
I just bought a laptop installed with Windows 8. I want to connect my iPhone to the Internet through the laptop. I have tried using Connectify to set up a WiFi hotspot. It works only with WEP and my iPhone can connect to the Internet but my iPhone disconnects from the hotspot after a while and I need to restart my Connectify hotspot, which is really annoying.I googled online and find that I can use the netsh command to set up the hotspot. I run command prompt in administrator mode and type in the following:
netsh wlan set hostednetwork mode=allow ssid=adhocnetwork key=password
netsh wlan start hostednetwork
And then I share the wired network through control panel > network connections > ethernet > properties.I connect my iPhone to the hosted network and typed in the password. I see a tick next to the SSID, meaning it can connect to the hosted network.I also check the status of the hosted network. Both IPv4 and IPv6 connectivity show Internet. But when I open Safari on my iPhone, it says no Internet.
I recently bought a mobile hotspot for my new start-up business (rather than paying for multiple internet locations) but I can't connect with my laptop--I'm really trying to avoid buying a newer laptop because my funds are limited right now.My iphone and PS3 can connect to the hotspot and run fine without any problems. The laptop can connect to my hotspot BUT the internet wont connect, it just says 'unidentifiable network'.
First off I live in the back 40's. I'm surpised I even get a connection here but I do. For most of the winter my internet was decent (edge) connected. Very rarely did I get a disconnect but it did happen. Wasn't high speed but it was alright. Then as summer started my internet started cutting out a lot. Lots of dc's and sometimes no connectivity at all. It would be down almost all day for days on end. I bought an antenna for the device. The antenna however only worked for the signal. It did not work with the outages. I'm sometimes getting 4g signal with 2-4 bars and still no internet connectivity. I updated the firmware today. That increased the signal a little bit.
1st. I have a desktop and nearby there is wireless internet WiFi hotspot. How can I connect it to the wireless internet WiFi? I am thinking of buying this: http:[url]....Apart from that adapter do I need something else?
2nd. Where the desktop is, I have no reception. I mean because my cellphone has no reception when it is in the same place where the desktop is. But when I put my cellphone in the window around 12 feet away, there is reception. So I am wondering if I can make a 12 feet long USB cable from the desktop to the window and with the Wifi/WLAN Wireless Network USB Adapter in the window.
I have an HP 8710 Workstation laptop running WindowsXP that just recently starting having problems maintaining an internet connection with my ATT Elevate mobile hotspot. My internet connection will work for 1-2 minutes and then end up timing out. I then have to disconnect and then reconnect to the wireless network to get connectivity. I was using was my laptop's built-in wifi card (Intel Wireless WiFi Link 4965AGN) when this was occurring, then switched to a wifi adapter (Linksys AE1000) and still the problem persists. I contacted ATT and they checked the cell towers, nothing is wrong and everything seems to be working. I've tried upgrading all the drivers, still no success.
i am having LAN connection to my laptop with registered in main data base, so i can't use my mobile using a same username to WiFi.Bluetooth/ USB connection between Laptop lan Internet to my Samsung Galaxy i551 android 2.2 mobile, so that i can access internet in my mobile without WiFi registration.
I have a laptop but i live in an apartment where there are Wi-FI signal but they are only reachable when i put my laptop on my window ,but I have a mobile with Wifi and it can hack some wifi which are un secured ?how can i connect to internet on my laptop using my mobile wifi !
