how to use a computer in the time before Windows, comfortable with using command prompt. Have fixed many issue over the years with old and crappy computers, through research. Not very familiar with wireless connections. Last week laptop started freezing on Windows load, going automatically to safe mode. If I restart the computer after loading in safe mode, Windows opens fine the second time. Have tried stopping all other programs from loading at start up. If I do a system restore, everything works fine for a few days, then starts freezing on Windows load again. When Window does load I get the application error: The application was unable to start correctly (0xc0150002) click ok to close. but can still log in to Windows. Also, When I plug my cell phone, via USB to computer it charges fine and can upload and download between the phone and laptop, however, if I connect a (USB) thumb drive I cannot open the folder, save to it or open from it. This is the issue I wish to fix first so I don't have to keep switching between my ancient and slow CPU and my Laptop trying to fix the above problem(s): Laptop recently stopped connecting to home WiFi (automatically or manually.) Ran troubleshooters, suggested I do a full power off the router and turn it back on. Did that still not connecting. Did a full power off of laptop and modem and router and restarted everything. Still doesn't work. Used manual Diagnostic tool and it fails the association test, suggests that I check the profile. I don't know much about wireless as I said, so I do not know what profile I need to check or where it is located. The laptop does connect sporadically to the internet at home, via WiFi, for a few minutes at a time on its own, according to the wireless network connections. During this time I see one of two messages in wireless network connections: Unidentified network or limited access. If I go into the network sharing centre it says I am connected to an unidentified public network and shows that this network is not connecting to the internet. If I use the manual diagnostic tool at this time it passes the association test but fails the ping test.
Distance from the router does not seem to make a difference.Often when it is disconnected I cannot even see my router in the list of available wireless network connections.I can connect wireless to the router from my phone and have had no problems even while the laptop is unable to connect and the old CPU I am currently on, which is a wired connection, has had no trouble either. Other things I tried:I've scanned for hardware changes in my network connections: none and tried updating my driver software: nothing to update all are enabled.
My laptop (Lenovo g560) runs windows 7 Home ed. About 3 months ago my parents changed the wifi password and so my laptop was unable to connect to our home internet, and I never bothered to fix it. It's been 3 months and now when I need to connect, it won't. The network appears in the list of detected networks, i correctly typed in the new requirements of the SSID, and when i press 'connect' it instantly pops up with 'Windows was unable to connect to XXXXXXX'. The modem is from Netgear. I've tried switching the modem off and on, the wireless activation swith on my laptop off and on, the Fn+F5 for wireless and bluetooth off and on, reinstalled drivers etc.I know its not a problem with my modem as wifi works for other mobile devices (like my iphone, other laptops etc), and my laptop has no problem connecting to the uni wifi network. There only seems to be a problem with connecting my laptop to the home network. Perhaps i've tried fiddling around with the 'properties' of the network too much and I've accidentally changed some settings i was not supposed to? how to restore the wireless settings of this network 'back to default' or in the state it was when i was able to connect.
I was using the Internet fine lastnight switched on my acer laptop this morning and wasnt connected to the router. I tried connecting but it just fails. I'm still able to connect with my iPad and iPod. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling the network adapter however this fails to successfully install. I've searched for hours but can't find a solution. I'm also unable to reset the router etc because I live in china and the router is in a roommates room whose door is locked.

My laptop was able to connect to this network in the place i am renting in.Then one fine day, it just stopped and gave me a Yellow triangle with Exclamation mark.Says that i have limited connectivity and unable to identify network.I have tried everything i could by the looks of it, other thangetting my hands on the router/modem thingi (it is not mine and belongs to the landlady+her son).I have even tried to connect using a usb wifi thngi(dlink) but still the same problem.I am able to connect to that same network via my iphone 4 and i am able to connect my laptop to the internet via that same iphone 4 using the iphone as a wifi hotspot(pdanet). So i use the phone to catch the wifi and broadcast to my laptop.I have a second laptop that can also connect to the wifi just fine.
About three days ago my Lenovo desktop lost its internet connection. The two other machines in my house (wireless laptop and desktop) both still have internet. It appears I have the issue of my IP address being 169.254.xx.xx and subnet mask being 255.255.0.0.All of these have been unsuccessful.
I'm running a Lenovo Y560 0646 which appears to have been upgraded by he previous owner. I've owned it for just a little over a month now and it has functioned admirably. The Network card is an Atheros Ar9285 Wireless Network Adaptor. It is my belief that the card may actually be integrated directly into the motherboard, but I'm not entirely sure of that.Recently, though, the clumsy wielding of a cable led to the destruction of the screen. I had to wait until my upcoming paycheck before ordering a new one and so continued to use the laptop through the use of an external flat screen monitor. During this period my internet worked flawlessly. However, a problem occurred when it came time to take out the cracked monitor to write down the model number for ordering.I've dealt with internal electronics before, so I knew to be delicate. I removed the broken screen, took down the information and then reattached it. However, once I booted up, I came to find that my computer could not connect to any network. I broke down the case, and made sure all wires were connected, and they were. I attempted to attach my computer directly to the modem, only to have that more or less fail.
I've followed several online tips in hopes of finding a solution but all has failed. My router is functioning properly, as I can still connect with my other wireless and wired devices. Windows device manager claims my wireless card and driver are functioning properly. I've completely uninstalled and reinstalled it a couple of times to no effect. I've run Ipconfig and it says the Wireless LAN adapter Wireless Network Connection are media disconnected and under connection it says "Specific DNS Suffix". I'm at wits end here. I've tried the winsock fix and the IPv4 and 6 fixes.
Respected sir, i would like you to know that i have purchased a Lenovo G570 laptop & did not able to connect to the internet through WiFi, so what I have to do so I can surf the network through wifi facility.l
I have just got a new laptop from work (Lenovo T410) but cannot seem to access the internet via wireless at home. The wireless mode at home is 802.11n. On my previous laptop (a Lenovo T60), I had to buy a belkin N Wireless USB adapter and used that. But I don't think I need to use it on the T410, right? When I switch the T410 on, the Access Connections box comes on and I can see all the different wireless networks available and they have good strength, but I just cannot connect, I don't know why? I have entered the 10 digit encryption key.
I have a laptop - Lenovo E43 in which i tried to connect with wifi, when wireless nework connection is opened, it is showing No wireless networks were found in range. and when IPCONFIGured, Media state...:Media disconnected is displaying under the Ethernet adapter Wireless Network connection.
I have Lenovo laptop and my internet works just fine when the cable is connected but Wifi does not work. It shows that i have excellent signal on the side but it just wont connect. I am attempting to connect to a residential wireless network on a router that was installed up by an engineer this morning. When the engineer was here he connected an HP laptop using XP to the wireless router. At first there was an issue with the connection (seemingly the same error message I am getting now), he did something to the wireless settings on the laptop, which stupidly I didn't see, and it successfully connected. When I attempted to connect my laptop to the same wireless router I got the same error message:'Connection Unsuccessful'.I clicked Diagnose Problem and got this: 'This computer has got limited or no connectivity'.I first selected the 'Automatically get new IP settings for the network adapter' but this didn't solve the problem. I then viewed the Wireless Network Security Settings and as far as I can see they are identical to those on the HP laptop that has successfully connected: [code] I then connected my laptop to the router using the ADSL cable and was able to connect to the internet, but I am still unable to get a wireless connection. When I view the wireless connections I am 'Connected With Limited Access'.
I have been unable to connect to my wifi on my laptop. I am currently using my moms laptop I know there are 3 wifi hotspots around my house. None of the hotspots show up in my network sharing, yet I'm connected to one of them right now using a dif laptop
His laptop is windows7 installed and it's unable to connect to the home router. It worked until afternoon, then the laptop was off for a while and since then it's not connecting. Rebooted both router and laptop several times. Other devices in house connects to the router but the laptop shows no connection present.
Have HP laptop which was working fine but suddenly I cannot enable wifi button. Will not turn blue when I press it. Have gone into control panel then mobile settings which shows wifi disabled but will not let me enable it.
My laptop is reading a full WiFi signal from my router. I am currently connected to the router via Ethernet on the same laptop. I've been reading tons of old threads to troubleshoot this. I'm at a loss. I have used this current networking hardware for more than a year without any problems. I do have a pretty old router but my iPod connects to the WiFi no problem at the moment. Here's what I've tried so far:
- soft reset of router - power cycle modem and router - removed saved network information from the laptop
I've got a Dell laptop with Windows 7 and I'm unable to connect to public wifi. I have a home wireless connection that I'm able to connect to, and I'm able to connect at friends houses. But when I try to connect at a local coffee shop, it doesn't work.
I have a Netgear N300 wireless router. My laptop is Sonay Viao, running Windows 7. This morning my internet was unreliable, and dropping every minute or so. Trying to trouble shoot, I switched the router off then on again. Now I have no wireless signal between my laptop and router. The router doesn't seem to be recognising the security password. I have not changed the password - this is still the original password for the router. Other devices are still talking wirelessly to the router.
I use a laptop and recently the wifi has stopped working for me. I can still connect completely but it says with "limited access," which results in me being unable to access the internet at all. The rest of the computers in the house work fine on the wifi and I double-checked the securtiy settings (WAP2 and all that) and it seems fine. What can I do? Tethering to my phone allows me to get on the internet and the computer connects successfully, but no websites will load whatsoever.
I own a Lenovo u310 laptop that I got recently and I used it for two days, and I tried using it today but the internet won't work. There is a yellow triangle with an exclamation point, and clicking it tells me I am connected, but have no internetWhen I troubleshoot, it says "Your computer appears to be correctly configured, but the device or resource (DNS server) is not responding."
Ok i have a dell inspiron m5030 running windows 7. The wifi card that came with it is the atheros 9285. It was working then out of know where i logged off and logged back in when i changed classes and it doesnt work anymore. In the device manager it says it is installed but cannot start.
(Before this I was able to connect with wifi almost instantly without a problem.)
Today my laptop (Lenovo T420 with Win 7) started acting up and I can't connect to any wireless networks anymore. I remember having the same problem just after buying the computer, but then it just disappeared and I never found out what happened. I tried restarting, turning the wifi switch off/on and also enabling/disabling the adapter, but nothing worked. Then I tried switching the wifi card with another identical one, but that didn't solve the issue either.
I have just bought a Lenovo Z570 laptop. I have a desktop and wireless internet with Talktalk. I have no idea what my original security code was - how do I find it?
got problems connecting to any internet connection on a lenovo G555 laptop with a atheros AR9285 wireless network adapter. Can access all the connections with a different laptop but not my lenovo so I know it is not a problem with the routers.Tried doing a system restore, tried disabling the network device then re-enabling it, tried switching the wireless on and off as well as restarting the laptop but no luck.

3. three devices-- Lenevo W500 laptop(2 years old), Nook(latest) and Lenevo G550 (6months old)
4. Earlier I had WRT54G router and all were working fine.
Now, I replaced WRT54G with E1000 router and symptoms are below.
a) on my W500 laptop, it works fine with Wired connection but when I switch to wireless, the internet speed reduces drastically in 10 minutes and finally crawls..
b) other devices (nook and Lenevo G550 are working fine withwireless)
Called Linksys support and they blamed on laptop and comcast cable.
I have a dell vostro 1520 laptop. The wireless internet just stopped working. I reset the switch on the side and nothing. Why is the wifi not working? It only works through ethernet wire.
My laptop is unable to connect to the internet, all I keep getting is that the network cable is unplugged. I have checked all but cannot find the problem, my grandkids want to use the dreaded laptop.
In my device I am able to browse through & connect to my HOME wifi network ; But after connecting it says 'No Internet Access'.I tried connecting with my SONY Bluray , iphone , ipad , laptops -- everywhere same story.I am able to plug in the ethernet cable directly from modem & able to connect to network.I am not able to open the http://192.168.0.1 -- ( When I am plugged in the modem directly)

When I use my phone turning on WiFi, it was able to connect to that wireless network and get internet. I cannot change or reset the router setting because I am not the admin where i do not know the password to.[CODE]
Using Windows 7 on a dell laptop unable to connect to the Internet in normal mode but can connect in safe mode. I think one of the family has deleted something form the programs menu. It worked fine untill a number of weeks ago Internet connection to my home is fine as all other computers work.
