View 5 RepliesSo I just finished building my new PC. Installed windows 7. Plugged in wireless network adapter in USB port. It detects it and I'm able to connect to the internet. I download chrome and install it.
I restart the computer. And now it shows I have no network adapters and I can't find it in device manager. Plugged it in again in, used different ports.. to no avail. I plugged the network adapter into another PC and it works.
My USB wireless adapter does not detect one specific network anymore on my laptop (toshiba). It was detecting it until a while ago, and all of a sudden I cannot see the network anymore. However, when i connect the wireless adapter to my other laptop (lenovo), the network is detected. Nothing has changed in the wireless network, and no programs were installed on my laptop (toshiba) before the network stopped appearing.
View 1 Replies View RelatedMy laptop keeps saying "Windows did not detect a properly installed network adapter. If you have a network adapter, you will need to re-insatll the driver". I've found the right one and it still want install. Says it's the wrong one but i'm pretty sure it's the right one. I just did a fresh install where i put windows 7 extreme on a laptop and i can't seem to ge the right drivers i guess. I don't know if it's the wrong driver or a bad NIC Card.
View 1 Replies View Relatedhave now been trying to get a wireless adapter to work on my computer for a couple of days now. I ordered a refurbished Cisco AE2500 and tried for hours to get it to work to no avail. I can't quite rember everything I tried to get it to work, but I will try. When I try to install from the installation CD it will not detect the adapter. I tried to download the drivers from the internet, but windows did not recognize them. I tried to update the drivers through device manage and windows update and that did not work. I updated all motherboard drivers and BIOS. I tried unplugging the power from the wall. I tried resetting the BIOS. After all of that, I decided that the adapter must not work.Today I went to Staples and bought a NETGEAR G54/N150 USB Micro Adapter. I ran the setup CD, put the adapter in and it detected. It would not connect to the router for some reason, and I thought it may have been because I set it to use the push to connect feature and the router did not have that feature, so, I uninstalled the software and tried to reinstall using just the stand alone windows driver and now my computer won't even detect it. I went through most of the things I went through with the first router again and nothing has worked
View 1 Replies View RelatedA couple of weeks ago, my laptop (vista) suddenly started not detecting any wireless networks anymore. Wired internet still works. Wireless suddenly went 'poof'.Since then, I tried basically everything. I rebooted the wireless adapter, rebooted laptop, the network is most definately in range of the laptop, updated the driver and all didn't work. Yes, the adapter is turned on, obviously. When I look into device manager, there are yellow exclamation marks next to the microsoft 6to4 adapter and the ISATAP adapter, so I also tried updating those. Didn't do anything. They still show a code 10. So i disabled both of them, also didn't work. I deleted and reinstalled both too. I even tried disabling 6to4 in the bios but didn't work.Device manager says my Intel (R) wifi Link 5100 AGN adapter works perfectly. Also updated it, un- and reinstalled it => no effect.
Though, even without those exclamation marks, i'm pretty sure my network doesn't send out much ip6 stuff, so it should still work... But it's not just my network at home, it simply won't detect any wireless networks anymore. Also tried windows recovery to put it back in the state before it wouldn't work anymore, but no effect.
Cannot connect to internet. Windows XP Professional 2002, 1GB of Ram, older computer, HP. Wiped out computer due to virus reinstalled only software I have, but internet is not working.

View 7 Replies View RelatedI recently upgraded my computer (not laptop) from Windows XP to Windows 7-32 bit. I redownloaded and installed Network Magic, Linksys Wireless Manager and my WUSB600N adapter properly (I hope). Now everything was working fine, I was able to get onto my network through the adapter but today I noticed that the Linksys Wireless Manager seemed to not connect to my network, instead my computer some how did it without the wireless manager. Now when I tried to connect to a network through the Wireless Manager it said Error: 211 and said My Adapter may not be installed properly and told me to remove the adapter and attach it back after 20 seconds. I tried that but again my computer connected to the network STILL through the computers own manager not through the Linksys Wireless Manager. That was still saying Error 211. So the problem really is that the Linksys Wireless Manager wont detect my adapter but my computer is still able to detect it and connect to my network.

View 1 Replies View RelatedHow do I fix my network so that my Windows 7 and XP computers automatically detect each other on the network. Right now, they cannot browse each other by computer name, instead I have to type their IP addresses (for example: \192.168.2.5) in the windows explorer address bar, and then I can browse to their shared folders. And under "Network" (in Windows Explorer) each computer only displays itself, and not the other (unless I have already typed in the other's IP address, in which case it displays the other computer as the IP address).
View 3 Replies View RelatedMy Compaq laptop (Vista) was working just fine last night, connected to my home wireless network all right and all. Today morning my laptop couldn't detect my home wireless network at all, but it could still detect a bunch of other networks from the neighbours. My iPhone can detect my network with no problems, my desktop computer is wired up to the router, works fine too. It's a D-Link DIR-655. This has happened before but usually gets solved when I reboot (switching off and on) my router. I've tried that, tried restarting my computer too, no use. Haven't tried anything beyond that because I'm an idiot with computers.

View 5 Replies View RelatedI installed the network adapter with no problem (using the CD included in the box) and it appears in my device manager and is working correctly. However, when I look look at the available networks I can only find BT Openzone (it's a pay as you go service, I'm using it now to try and fix this ), and some random BTHomeHub. I should be able to see a lot more, including my Virgin Media network, but I can't. It was the best 'Dongle'[?] in the store, so I'm guessing it's not an issue of proximity. I'm also certain that the network should be publicly visable.
OS: Windows XP PRO SP3
ISP: Virgin Media
USB Wireless adapter: Belkin Play dual-band N600 F7D4101
I have used Xirrus Wi-Fi Inspector and it does not detect any networks other than the two I've mentioned.

I was using my computer this evening and suddenly it lost the connection to my wireless network and is now saying there aren't any wireless networks in range at all. I know this is wrong because my laptop (which I'm writing this on now), my PS3 and my phone are all able to detect not only my own network but other networks in the area.I've tried a couple of restarts on my PC and it briefly connects to the network and the internet (it connects to Steam and if I'm quick I can look at a couple of webpages). After a couple of minutes though, it loses the connection and decides there aren't any networks in range again.

However, I know that the network is working because other laptops at home are able to detect it. I don't think there is anything wrong with the laptop because I can still detect other wifi networks in our neighborhood. The problem only seems to be with our home wifi network. If I restart the computer, the problem is usually solved. This is not an efficient solution for me as I am used to turning my laptop off on hibernate and I don't like having to reopen all my documents.
