when we hooked our computers into our lan swich, which is a 3com dual speed switch 8, all of our machines reported that there was local or no conectivity.according to ipconfig, we all had addresses of 169.254.xxx.xxx, so we manually set the ip addresses, and still nothing.finally, we reset the router, and still nothing?!
My desktop failed to detect the local area network, but my laptop successfully detects that network. What may be the reason? Both the case, the green light is blinking (Means there is not problem with the cable/line ?). Is it a problem related to the network pin? The same desktop is successfully connecting through another line. So it means, it not an issue with desktop computer or it's configuration.
Yesterday i used it to play online-game and it's still work properly. But today My friend's laptop suddenly can't detect any wireless network. Wireless light signal is still on. I'm really stupid at technology device like this so, i don't know what to do. Laptop is Levono ideaPad U460 OS win7
So I just finished building my new PC. Installed windows 7. Plugged in wireless network adapter in USB port. It detects it and I'm able to connect to the internet. I download chrome and install it.
I restart the computer. And now it shows I have no network adapters and I can't find it in device manager. Plugged it in again in, used different ports.. to no avail. I plugged the network adapter into another PC and it works.
How do I fix my network so that my Windows 7 and XP computers automatically detect each other on the network. Right now, they cannot browse each other by computer name, instead I have to type their IP addresses (for example: \192.168.2.5) in the windows explorer address bar, and then I can browse to their shared folders. And under "Network" (in Windows Explorer) each computer only displays itself, and not the other (unless I have already typed in the other's IP address, in which case it displays the other computer as the IP address).
My Compaq laptop (Vista) was working just fine last night, connected to my home wireless network all right and all. Today morning my laptop couldn't detect my home wireless network at all, but it could still detect a bunch of other networks from the neighbours. My iPhone can detect my network with no problems, my desktop computer is wired up to the router, works fine too. It's a D-Link DIR-655. This has happened before but usually gets solved when I reboot (switching off and on) my router. I've tried that, tried restarting my computer too, no use. Haven't tried anything beyond that because I'm an idiot with computers.
I have just got an acer aspire ethos 8951g.I have several laptops at home all connected to the n network on a netgear dgn3300 dualband router. The problem i'm having is my new acer won't discover the n network only the g side of the router.
My laptop has stopped detecting my wireless home network. Before this happened, my laptop was going a-hole on me. It would stopped connecting and then I would have to connect it again via password..but now it has done it! This dam laptop. Anyways, there are two computers in my house and they can connect to the internet through the Ethernet cable. My laptop can also connect the internet through the ether net cable too..but that really beats the purpose of having a laptop if it's not mobile.
I just reformatted my laptop with a new windows 7 because I didn't have a recovery disc and did not make backup image. But now it seems like the drives that are suppose to come with the laptop are not installed because it can't connect to the network. I tried using an ethernet cable but it doesn't detect it?
I have a Macbook computer and I can access the internet. I also have the Microsoft Windows Vista Home Premium software loaded on this computer, but I cannot get access via the wireless system on Windows. what is keeping the system from gaining access. The response when attempting to gain access is: "Windows did not detect any wireless network hardware".
Is there anything I can set up on a network which would alert the company who own the network if certain kinds of file, such as large avi movie files or mp3s, were being shared by users on the network (whether that be with each other or externally, using third party file storage services etc)?
I installed the network adapter with no problem (using the CD included in the box) and it appears in my device manager and is working correctly. However, when I look look at the available networks I can only find BT Openzone (it's a pay as you go service, I'm using it now to try and fix this ), and some random BTHomeHub. I should be able to see a lot more, including my Virgin Media network, but I can't. It was the best 'Dongle'[?] in the store, so I'm guessing it's not an issue of proximity. I'm also certain that the network should be publicly visable.
OS: Windows XP PRO SP3 ISP: Virgin Media USB Wireless adapter: Belkin Play dual-band N600 F7D4101 I have used Xirrus Wi-Fi Inspector and it does not detect any networks other than the two I've mentioned.
I was using my computer this evening and suddenly it lost the connection to my wireless network and is now saying there aren't any wireless networks in range at all. I know this is wrong because my laptop (which I'm writing this on now), my PS3 and my phone are all able to detect not only my own network but other networks in the area.I've tried a couple of restarts on my PC and it briefly connects to the network and the internet (it connects to Steam and if I'm quick I can look at a couple of webpages). After a couple of minutes though, it loses the connection and decides there aren't any networks in range again.
I have an Asus 1001 PG netbook. I am having problems with my home wifi network. When I turn on my laptop, I do not receive the signal for our home wifi network. However, I know that the network is working because other laptops at home are able to detect it. I don't think there is anything wrong with the laptop because I can still detect other wifi networks in our neighborhood. The problem only seems to be with our home wifi network. If I restart the computer, the problem is usually solved. This is not an efficient solution for me as I am used to turning my laptop off on hibernate and I don't like having to reopen all my documents.
My Sony Vaio laptop with windows 7 cant connect wirelessly to the internet. I can only connect using Ethernet cable. I have followed all the advice I can find online but nothing is working. Ive downloaded new drivers etc. I am a student in a house with 6 other people and I am the only one experiencing wireless connectivity problems
try to connect to my wireless network it does not show up, other networks do however. At the moment I am connecting on the laptop through an ethernet cable. Also, my sister's and my old laptop both connect fine to the wireless and so do our iPhones. I have tried to connect manually to the network but this doesn't work either. I have tried researching it and I found that I might need to update my driver but I found that my driver is up to date.
My USB wireless adapter does not detect one specific network anymore on my laptop (toshiba). It was detecting it until a while ago, and all of a sudden I cannot see the network anymore. However, when i connect the wireless adapter to my other laptop (lenovo), the network is detected. Nothing has changed in the wireless network, and no programs were installed on my laptop (toshiba) before the network stopped appearing.
I am using an HP G50 vista 32bit. Suddenly my laptop does not detect the wireless automatic home network which its connected to everytime. It detects all other available networks (around my home) but not the one at home. All other devices (other laptop, my iphone) are successfully connected to the network. I have tried resetting the modem, restarting laptop, no updates , no adapter updates.
I am about to buy a Netbook from HP with windows 7 Starter. But a few days back when I tried to connect my friend's laptop to my network using WiFi ,it accessed the Internet but did not detect any other XP computers on the Network neither could I ping them nor could I access their shared folders.
2)And What is N Draft?? and how is it different from WiFi-N?
3)And can I set up Guest Network so that I can give the connected computers Internet access but no Shared Folder access..
Recently upgraded to Windows 7 Ultimate, but frustratingly i cannot detect my network.
Uninstalled and reinstalled drivers so many times, got a red x next to my network connections in my start bar. Everything in device manager saying the device is running fine. I've got an Intel 82566DC -2 Gigabit Network Connection.
my TOSHIBASATELLITE T110-11U could not detect wireless network and only can connect to internet by cable . when I try to restore system , it said THE DISK WINDOWS (C) HAS ERRORS. Never happened before and I have no idea why it happened suddenly today.
My wireless internet connection on my laptop. The connection seems to work fine on other laptops in the flat. It works on mine too. Then after a short time the internet connection fails and the laptop says it's unable to connect to preffered wireless network, and unable to detect any wireless networks (usually there are others around too). The amount of time before this happens seems to be getting less. I have cheched that the radio switch on the side of the laptop is on.
I just moved into a new apartment and I bought a usb wireless adapter so I could make use of the virgin media broadband. I've only ever used the internet on this computer via my ethernet connectionI installed the network adapter with no problem (using the CD included in the box) and it appears in my device manager and is working correctly. [CODE]
We have been having a problem with one computer on our network unable to detect our network, or when it rarely does connect, it only has one bar and barely works. The files we attached are one of the times it could connect, when we finally caught it at the right time.We have a total of five computers/laptops on our network connected at different times. We recently updated the router and we've updated the drivers for the network adapter on the problem computer.Neither has worked. The computer was moved here a few months ago and because of condensation the graphics card was destroyed. We took it to a computer repair shop (which is how we found this out) and they installed a new graphics card. It hasn't worked since it got here. That computer was traditionally used for gaming (before it moved here) but if we can get into an online game, our ping is really high, in the 100s.
I am running Windows 7 and I use a ZyXEL ZyAIR G-220 Wireless USB adapter for internet. I had a virus called something like Cloud AV 2012 so I used Malware Bytes to remove it and it worked just fine. However, now the internet does not seem to work (there's that yellow triangle with the exclamation point) and when I try to run diagnostics, the message "Windows could not automatically detect this network's proxy settings" comes up. So far, I've tried rebooting, disabling proxies in all of my browsers, and running scans, And I also cannot system restore, because apparently windows security was turned off and there are no restore points
I'm on windows 7 btw. When I diagnose the problem it says: Windows could not automatically detect this networks proxy settings I'm connected to the internet via cable on my laptop. Yes I'm using a router. The other computers connected to the router can connect to the internet but mine can't. It also says "unidentified network - no internet access" when I click on the computer icon in the bottom right corner of the screen. until I downloaded from a music site which gave me the virus I think. Now, I'm not certain if the virus is removed or not. I tried system restore point but it won't even let me restore my computer anymore for some reason, maybe because of the virus.
I recently bough an Acer Aspire 5733z notebook set it up yesterday.I am however having major problems with connecting to the internet (I am writing this on my desktop PC downstairs).I have a Netgear DG834G modem/router which worked just fine with my old netbook - a Samsung N130.The problem is that when I click on available connections, my network isn't there, but everyone else's on the street is My PC is connect to the modem/router via Ethernet and when I plug the Ethernet cable into the 5733z it does connect to the internet just fine - it won't however recognize my wireless network.
