Windows Could Not Automatically Detect Network's Proxy Settings

Nov 26, 2011

I am running Windows 7 and I use a ZyXEL ZyAIR G-220 Wireless USB adapter for internet. I had a virus called something like Cloud AV 2012 so I used Malware Bytes to remove it and it worked just fine. However, now the internet does not seem to work (there's that yellow triangle with the exclamation point) and when I try to run diagnostics, the message "Windows could not automatically detect this network's proxy settings" comes up. So far, I've tried rebooting, disabling proxies in all of my browsers, and running scans, And I also cannot system restore, because apparently windows security was turned off and there are no restore points

Windows 7 Could Not Automatically Detect Network Proxy Settings

Oct 20, 2011

I'm on windows 7 btw. When I diagnose the problem it says: Windows could not automatically detect this networks proxy settings I'm connected to the internet via cable on my laptop. Yes I'm using a router. The other computers connected to the router can connect to the internet but mine can't. It also says "unidentified network - no internet access" when I click on the computer icon in the bottom right corner of the screen. until I downloaded from a music site which gave me the virus I think. Now, I'm not certain if the virus is removed or not. I tried system restore point but it won't even let me restore my computer anymore for some reason, maybe because of the virus.

Windows Could Not Automatically Detect Network Proxy Settings

Jan 5, 2013

I'm using my old laptop now. On my regular laptop, my internet icon has the yellow triangle and when I trouble shoot it, the message says "Windows could not automatically detect this network's proxy settings".Recently I noticed my computer was heating faster (and hotter) than usual so I ran a search again and it said no threats were found. I have ran the search twice since then and still nothing. I was advised to use ccleaner, malwarebytes, and Super Anti-Spyware. It removed one other threat but the problem was still there. I then started using combofix, but I did not like the look of it so I stopped that scan. It seemed a little sketchy. As of this morning, I'm having the internet problem. My old laptop (the one I'm on now) and my girlfriend's laptop work fine. I connected it with the Ethernet cord and that didn't change anything. I have Windows 7. It's on a 2010 Samsung (I'm not very tech savvy so I'm not sure about all the other details).

Windows Could Not Detect Networks Proxy Settings

Jan 6, 2012

the virus is no longer a problem. Now, I cannot get the computer to connect to the internet via wireless OR wired connection. The computer will connect to the router and I can see other computers on the network, but I continue to see the warning triangle that says "No Internet Access." When running the diagnostics on the connection I receive "Windows could not detect the networks proxy settings."

How To Automatically Detect New Network Card In CentOS 6 / RedHat

Sep 5, 2011

I'm using CentOS 6 in a virtual environment. When cloning a virtual version of CentOS, the old eth adapters are "removed" and replaced with new ones and net MAC addresses. However, the ifcfg-ethn files still exist. I am trying to figure out how to get CentOS to automatically rescan & recreate the network adapters / eth files, just like it did on install. url...

I know there is a quick way to do this in the GUI, but we are using a server so GUI does not apply in this case.

however Kudzu has been removed as of Centos 5 so I would rather avoid that. There is a procedure that Linux runs on initial install - what that is so I can manually trigger it?

Windows 7 - Can't Detect Any Wireless Networks / Restored To Factory Settings

Sep 20, 2012

A few hours ago, I just restored my laptop to factory settings. Once it was done, I tried connecting to the internet but the computer could not detect ANY wireless networks!I already know it is not the modem or router because I have a Macbook Pro and two HP laptops that connect perfectly fine to the modem. I also made sure the wireless is on. The laptop with the problem is a Toshiba Satellite l645. It's running on a 64-bit Windows 7. When I try to look up wireless networks, it only shows 'MOBILE BROADBAND CONNECTION".

Can't Connect To Any Wireless Network Proxy Settings

Jun 11, 2012

I have a new Dell Inspiron 14Z (purchased in February), it has been running great until recently, the internet connection (wireless) completely stopped working. When I try to connect through Internet Explorer, it says Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage. I Diagnose Connection Problems, and this is what I get:"Windows could not automatically detect this network's proxy settings." On Chrome, I got a long list of things to do (check DNS settings, LAN Network, etc. have tried every and all checked/unchecked box they advise.) This error shows up:Error 105 (net:: ERR_NAME_NOT_RESOLVED): The server could not be found. However, I accidentally uninstalled Chrome trying to fix this problem, so Internet Explorer is all I have. It's been about 2-3 weeks with no internet. Have tried connecting to 5+ different networks (Home- AT&T U-verse, University of Texas Network, restaurants, etc)tried restarting my computer, setting my LAN settings back to normal, and it still won't work. Other computers work on all of the networks I've tried, it's just mine that wont. [code]

Windows 7 And XP Computers Can't Detect Each Other On Network?

Sep 3, 2012

How do I fix my network so that my Windows 7 and XP computers automatically detect each other on the network. Right now, they cannot browse each other by computer name, instead I have to type their IP addresses (for example: \192.168.2.5) in the windows explorer address bar, and then I can browse to their shared folders. And under "Network" (in Windows Explorer) each computer only displays itself, and not the other (unless I have already typed in the other's IP address, in which case it displays the other computer as the IP address).

I have an Ubuntu 10.04 and basically I would like to achieve this:When I am at home, switch the network to use static IP.When I am at the office, switch the network to use DHCP.

Is there a program to do this?Or is this something that should go inside an init script where if it is weekend or weekday from 7 pm to 7 am, then consider it a home. If it is home, then use static IP.?

TP-Link Dual-Band Wireless :: TL-WDR3600 - Binding Settings Can't Apply Automatically After Router Reboot

Mar 17, 2013

Region : Germany
Model : TL-WDR3600
Hardware Version : V1
Firmware Version : 3.13.26 Build 130129 Rel.59449n
ISP :

all my systems are configured under "IP & MAC Binding". Binding is activated globally and all check marks for every ID are set. After i finished my configurations, the "ARP List" status shows, that everything is bound - so far everything is great. The problem appears after a router reboot or after shutting the router down and powering it on again. The "ARP List" then shows only a few of my IDs and their status is unbound. I need to go back to the "Binding Settings" and hit "Save" - after that all my IDs appear in the ARP-List and everything is OK again.

My brother brought his laptop round so I could at least use the internet and after 5 mins of being connected to my internet his laptop started to do exactly the same cursor going all over and programs opening - his laptop was perfectly fine until he connected to my internet. Once he took his laptop back home on his own network it was working perfectly normal again.

2 Nics In Windows 7 - Deleted Route Automatically Reappears

Jun 30, 2011

I have 2 NICs in my Windows 7 PC at work.NIC #1 connects to our private network and is also how I connect to the internet. NIC #2 connects to our customer's network and does not allow internet connectivity for me.When I first boot up my Windows 7 machine I get the following info in route print:Despite the fact that I have a persistent route with metric 1 to send my internet traffic to the 172 subnet, the internet requests go to the 10 subnet. I am guessing that is because the non-persistent route to the 10 subnet has a metric of 20 vs. the 21 for the 172 subnet. I delete the route 0.0.0.0 mask 0.0.0.0 10.242.1.254 and I am able to connect to the internet again.HOWEVER, after something like 4-6 hours, (without rebooting) the bad route automatically reappears in my route table! I become aware of it because I suddenly have connectivity problems. There are no entries in the Windows Logs that seem to be related (i.e., no DHCP renewal requests.) so I do not know how or why it reappears.
