sometimes my net will randomly dc and wen i trouble shoot it says "windows could automatically detect this networks proxy" and then when i go to diagnose it says "your computer appears to be correctly configured but the device or resource (dns server) is not responding.
View 17 RepliesI am running Windows 7 and I use a ZyXEL ZyAIR G-220 Wireless USB adapter for internet. I had a virus called something like Cloud AV 2012 so I used Malware Bytes to remove it and it worked just fine. However, now the internet does not seem to work (there's that yellow triangle with the exclamation point) and when I try to run diagnostics, the message "Windows could not automatically detect this network's proxy settings" comes up. So far, I've tried rebooting, disabling proxies in all of my browsers, and running scans, And I also cannot system restore, because apparently windows security was turned off and there are no restore points

Yes I'm using a router. The other computers connected to the router can connect to the internet but mine can't. It also says "unidentified network - no internet access" when I click on the computer icon in the bottom right corner of the screen. until I downloaded from a music site which gave me the virus I think. Now, I'm not certain if the virus is removed or not. I tried system restore point but it won't even let me restore my computer anymore for some reason, maybe because of the virus.

On my regular laptop, my internet icon has the yellow triangle and when I trouble shoot it, the message says "Windows could not automatically detect this network's proxy settings".Recently I noticed my computer was heating faster (and hotter) than usual so I ran a search again and it said no threats were found. I have ran the search twice since then and still nothing. I was advised to use ccleaner,malwarebytes, and Super Anti-Spyware. It removed one other threat but the problem was still there. I then started using combofix, but I did not like the look of it so I stopped that scan. It seemed a little sketchy. As of this morning, I'm having the internet problem. My old laptop (the one I'm on now) and my girlfriend's laptop work fine. I connected it with the Ethernet cord and that didn't change anything. I have Windows 7. It's on a 2010 Samsung (I'm not very tech savvy so I'm not sure about all the other details).
View 14 Replies View RelatedThe other day i was on my mums laptop (ASUS X5DIJ) at her house all working fine the battery died so i plugged it in and started it up again however the charger cant have been fully connected and once back in windows the battery died again on the next boot i noticed windows said it had found the system CMOS/real time clock and had installed drivers for it. checked the driver details it says no driver files are required just like it should ever since then it connects to the network but will not connect to the internet at her house or at mine through wireless and ethernet cable although all other computers work fine windows troubleshooter says "Windows could not automatically detect this networks proxy settings"

the virus is no longer a problem. Now, I cannot get the computer to connect to the internet via wireless OR wired connection. The computer will connect to the router and I can see other computers on the network, but I continue to see the warning triangle that says "No Internet Access." When running the diagnostics on the connection I receive "Windows could not detect the networks proxy settings."

Once it was done, I tried connecting to the internet but the computer could not detect ANY wireless networks!I already know it is not the modem or router because I have a Macbook Pro and two HP laptops that connect perfectly fine to the modem. I also made sure the wireless is on. The laptop with the problem is a Toshiba Satellite l645. It's running on a 64-bit Windows 7. When I try to look up wireless networks, it only shows 'MOBILE BROADBAND CONNECTION".

However, the ifcfg-ethn files still exist. I am trying to figure out how to get CentOS to automatically rescan & recreate the network adapters / eth files, just like it did on install. url...
I know there is a quick way to do this in the GUI, but we are using a server so GUI does not apply in this case.
however Kudzu has been removed as of Centos 5 so I would rather avoid that. There is a procedure that Linux runs on initial install - what that is so I can manually trigger it?

I realize that this is not secure and very silly. I suggested choosing the best and trusted networks available. My boss, however, doesn't want to accept that he should have to go through more steps with newer technology. So in this case, I'd just like to give him what he's asking for.

View 3 Replies View RelatedA couple of weeks ago, my laptop (vista) suddenly started not detecting any wireless networks anymore. Wired internet still works. Wireless suddenly went 'poof'.Since then, I tried basically everything. I rebooted the wireless adapter, rebooted laptop, the network is most definately in range of the laptop, updated the driver and all didn't work. Yes, the adapter is turned on, obviously. When I look into device manager, there are yellow exclamation marks next to the microsoft 6to4 adapter and the ISATAP adapter, so I also tried updating those. Didn't do anything. They still show a code 10. So i disabled both of them, also didn't work. I deleted and reinstalled both too. I even tried disabling 6to4 in the bios but didn't work.Device manager says my Intel (R) wifi Link 5100 AGN adapter works perfectly. Also updated it, un- and reinstalled it => no effect.
Though, even without those exclamation marks, i'm pretty sure my network doesn't send out much ip6 stuff, so it should still work... But it's not just my network at home, it simply won't detect any wireless networks anymore.Also tried windows recovery to put it back in the state before it wouldn't work anymore, but no effect.
We are using cisco 3502i AP's and 5508 controler. We have two SSID's. "SA Wireless" and "Guest Wireless". SA Wireless is WPA2 enterprise security and the "Guest Wireless" is open. The iPads will disconnect from "SA Wireless" and join "Guest Wireless" at random. Is there a way to force them to stay on "SA Wireless" and only change if you actually tell the iPad to change?

A client of mine is using a Cisco 877w wireless router, they have one IP phone connected to one of the RJ45 ports on the back of the router and their main desktop is also plugged directly into the router - this all functions perfectly.However, the router is in a private house and as such it provides connectivity for all other wireless devices such as iPhones, Ipads and Xbox Live etc. The problem is that the router only allows 5 devices to be connected at any one time and when a sixth attempts to connect to the router the first device (the IP phone) is diconnected automatically.
So my client can be using the IP phone for an important call and his son walks in with Iphone and Xbox, friends etc etc and the IP phone is immediatley disonnected from the router. I beleive that the router should allow more than 5 devices to connect and would hope there is a way of stopping the IP phone constantly being disconnected.I have already paid for "Cisco Engineers" to attend this site but they cannot get it working.
Now my problem started happening after my desktop computer got unplugged. When I booted back up, I was unable to connect to my access point. Or find any of the other networks it can always see. I took my laptop and set up an ad hoc network and it came right up. The wireless access point has not been changed and it is perfectly fine. I've updated the drivers from Ralink, nothing. Uninstalled and rebooted, nothing. Checked the BIOS for any settings, nothing. Made sure the radio was turned on, nothing.

i received a dell latitude D610 and installed the operating system and the drivers, when i open the network adapters in device manager it says i have the Broadcom NetXtreme 57xx gigabit controller. when i try to connect to the internet with a cable it works fine but it wont let me detect wireless networks or if i unplug the cable an error pops up saying A network cable is unplugged i dont know if i have the right driver(s) installed.

I have checked the device manager for errors and have found none. I have noticed that the BigFoot connenction manager does not seem to detect the network card.
Should I reinstall the card driver and the BigFoot helper?

I have a DIR-615 that is not responding to hard resets. It was working fine for about a week and then stopped handing out IP's to wireless clients. I attempted a power cycle and when the router came back up the wireless light was no longer on and it was no longer handing out IP's to Ethernet clients. The power light is solid, internet light lights up when connected to my modem and flashes intermittently, and the Ethernet lights light up in response to connecting clients. I have attempted to hard reset the router to no avail. I also tried statically assigning 192. 168. 0.120 to my NIC to see if I could access the router config but that doesn't work either. It's almost as if the default ip address and range for the LAN on my router have changed and DHCP was turned off.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI have a Studio 1440 64-bit system that came with Vista installed. I upgraded to Windows 7 soon after. With both these versions the bluetooth was working fine. My computer got a virus and I had to re-install everything. Now my Bluetooth is unable to detect any bluetooth devices. I have the latest driver for the Dell Wireless Bluetoothe 365 module. When installing it says that it is looking for bluetooth devices but none are discoverable even though I have a Microsoft Bluetooth notebook 5000 mouse and a smartphone with bluetooth that are in discovery mode.I know the devices are discoverable because they are discovered on my wife's computer which is also a studio 1440.
