This is becuase the IE at office has proxy configured correctly.I cannot access the same machine with RDP connection, though. I can access it using other computer outsite the office, so it is not an issue that rdp is not enabled or so. Problem is with proxy at office.I need a way to connect to rdp by using the same proxy.Problem is that that IE at office uses automated proxy script (.pac).I have installed remote utilities server on the machine I want to access and the remote utilities viewer on the computer at office. I set the proxy similary to what is set in IE but I cannot connect anyway. I can connect this way from third computer outside the office though, so the configuration is fine, only proxy is the problem.I managed to get the proxy details like host name and port but I'm not sure those are the right one.The webwasher or proxy is mcafee web gateway 6.8.4.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI am having wireless modem to connect the internet of BSNL, I Want to connect internet by wireless lan to another pc
proxy settings for connection
I just purchased 5 RV220W to act as internet/wireless router at a remote site. There is no VPN, just LAN and Wireless routing to the internet.I have setup remote management and it works fine when I am directly connected to the internet. However, everytime I try to connect through our HTTP/HTTPs proxy farm, it usually fails. Specificially, I get the log-in page and can log in. It starts to render the landing page but redirects to a page stating "Your session has been terminated." On rare instances the first page will appear, however within a few clicks I end up with the same terminated page.
As a test, I bypassed the farm and forced my browser to use one proxy exclusively. At that point I could access the HTTPS interface with no issue. I have not had any issues with other SSL sites with the proxy configuration in use.Is there some sort of MITM prevention I could be running into? If so, can it be turned off.I am new to the RV-series of routers. Is there any logging I could turn on that would provide insight on why the session may be getting terminated?
It was there before I disconnected but now I cannot map T: to \PC1 but I can map to \PC1share? I can "Run" \PC1 and get there?

View 3 Replies View RelatedI want to share the My Documents folder from an XP machine with ONLY one user (the administrator) on a networked Win 7 machine. I have turned off simple sharing on the XP machine. I hate XP!! So complicated to do anything. Anyway, under security, I have tried share this folder, and not to share folder. I have gone into Advanced and messed around with permissions, taking out Everyone, using Admin only, using Network. At one point I ended up not being able to access My Documents on the local computer and had to jump through many hoops to change ownership and disable read only so that the user could use her own files! The problem is, under Advanced in the permissions area, I cannot see the users on the remote pc to choose which one should be allowed access. how to actually find a particular user on the Win 7 pc and give ONLY that user permission to read (not to change) the files in My Documents on the XP pc.

View 11 Replies View RelatedI am trying to transfer files from my laptop to my desktop, but when I open the 'network' folder from the start menu to access the desktop from the laptop, the desktop computer is not shown. I ensured that the workgroup names are the same, all sharing is turned on on both computers in Network and Sharing Center, since it is a private network, I checked the router settings and nothing seems to be wrong. The desktop is running Windows Vista Business x86 and the laptop is running Windows 7 Home Premium x64, so there is no way to make a Homegroup connection. However, I can see the laptop computer from the desktop's network folder. I click on it to gain access, but I get an error message: "Network Error, Windows cannot access \****-PC, check the spelling of the name. Otherwise, there might be a problem with your network. Error code: 0x80070035 The network path was not found." have checked all wiring, router settings, and nic card settings, have done a successful ping, even Network and Sharing Center, I have also checked sharing permissions and permission levels, I see nothing that could possibly affect the access of the computers.
The only thing I can think of is that when I click on the 'Network ID' button under the Computer Name tab in System Properties on the desktop, it asks join a domain or workgroup, it will not let me save the selection "This is a home computer; it's not part of a business network," that may or may not be the issue, because it will only remain on "This computer is part of a business network" probably because I am running Windows Vista Business.
I have 2 computers (one is using windows 7, other is using windows xp), one switch and router. I don't have physical access to router. I have plugged the cable from router to switch, and connected both PC's to switch and now I have internet on both PC's.My question is, can I "control" or share files on windows xp with Windows 7 (main computer) and in same time have access to internet? Or to use windows 7 to connect to internet?

I know that there are two IP addresses: The WAN IP which is what your IP address looks like while connecting to the internet. There is also an IP address assigned to you by your router. If both machines are on the same network, then I am able to make the client connect to the server by providing the Router-IP. But when they are on different networks, they do not connect even when i give the WAN IP. How exactly do I specify an address for a remote device ?
View 1 Replies View Relatedwe just deployed a cisco wireless solution with WLC4404-100, WCS, and a bunch of 1130AP and I experience some problem with file copy under windows xp. The file copy is working fine with my Ethernet connection however. The symptom is as follow. I cannot copy large file from a share to the computer. The copy starts then after a while (let's say 30MB copy over a 100MB file) it stops with the error 'File copy error: The network name is no longer available'. When this occurs, I still have my wireless card connected and I can ping my computer from the controller.I tried to adjust some radio settings (channel, power on the AP I'm connected to) because we have a large wireless network here, but no success. I also update the wireless card driver, create a new SSID, etc. No success at all. However the copy went fine for small file size.

I have connected the Desktop PC to the router using a LAN cable, and laptop to router over WiFi. Both, PC and laptop are running on Windows 7 OS, are on same HomeGroup, have same username / password. Also, I have connected the Ethernet cable to LAN port 1 of the router.Click here to view a graphical representation of the network. Can't post image here, because I don't have 10 reputation points. Now, what I want is use connect to Internet using a 3G USB modem on one device and share it over the network on the other. I tried Huawei and Micromax 3G USB modem. Both obtain a new IP address whenever I connect to Internet (means they have dynamic IPs). Rest, both have Subnet Mask as 255.255.255.255 and Default Gateway as 0.0.0.0. In that case, I cannot directly share Internet from the modem. Preferred DNS is blank for now in both, laptop and PC.What I am planning to do is to connect to Internet on laptop using the 3G modem and share the Internet connection over laptop's Wi-Fi (as hotspot) using Connectify, which I have done already. That, I suppose, will broadcast a static IP to connect to.Now what I can't figure out is that what changes should I make to the network settings of the router and the PC so that PC connects to the Internet broadcast by Connectify?
