View 2 Replies View RelatedI recently upgraded my computer (not laptop) from Windows XP to Windows 7-32 bit. I redownloaded and installed Network Magic, Linksys Wireless Manager and my WUSB600N adapter properly (I hope). Now everything was working fine, I was able to get onto my network through the adapter but today I noticed that the Linksys Wireless Manager seemed to not connect to my network, instead my computer some how did it without the wireless manager. Now when I tried to connect to a network through the Wireless Manager it said Error: 211 and said My Adapter may not be installed properly and told me to remove the adapter and attach it back after 20 seconds. I tried that but again my computer connected to the network STILL through the computers own manager not through the Linksys Wireless Manager. That was still saying Error 211. So the problem really is that the Linksys Wireless Manager wont detect my adapter but my computer is still able to detect it and connect to my network.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI recently entered the realm of wireless networking for my desktops and was able to connect my personal desktop successfully. Unfortunately, the other desktop I really need to make wireless is having difficulties. The computer never shows the message that a new device is discovered/installed. The adapter shows up under hardware devices and functioning properly but this is not the case. I installed the driver from the included CD but when I use Windows to troubleshoot, it says that the driver and adapter aren't working. When trying to set up a new network, I get a grayed-out wireless icon in the system tray and can't proceed. I disabled the firewall and antivirus so I could start over, uninstalling the driver, restarting and installing again.
View 12 Replies View Relatedhave now been trying to get a wireless adapter to work on my computer for a couple of days now. I ordered a refurbished Cisco AE2500 and tried for hours to get it to work to no avail. I can't quite rember everything I tried to get it to work, but I will try. When I try to install from the installation CD it will not detect the adapter. I tried to download the drivers from the internet, but windows did not recognize them. I tried to update the drivers through device manage and windows update and that did not work. I updated all motherboard drivers and BIOS. I tried unplugging the power from the wall. I tried resetting the BIOS. After all of that, I decided that the adapter must not work.Today I went to Staples and bought a NETGEAR G54/N150 USB Micro Adapter. I ran the setup CD, put the adapter in and it detected. It would not connect to the router for some reason, and I thought it may have been because I set it to use the push to connect feature and the router did not have that feature, so, I uninstalled the software and tried to reinstall using just the stand alone windows driver and now my computer won't even detect it. I went through most of the things I went through with the first router again and nothing has worked
View 1 Replies View RelatedA couple of weeks ago, my laptop (vista) suddenly started not detecting any wireless networks anymore. Wired internet still works. Wireless suddenly went 'poof'.Since then, I tried basically everything. I rebooted the wireless adapter, rebooted laptop, the network is most definately in range of the laptop, updated the driver and all didn't work. Yes, the adapter is turned on, obviously. When I look into device manager, there are yellow exclamation marks next to the microsoft 6to4 adapter and the ISATAP adapter, so I also tried updating those. Didn't do anything. They still show a code 10. So i disabled both of them, also didn't work. I deleted and reinstalled both too. I even tried disabling 6to4 in the bios but didn't work.Device manager says my Intel (R) wifi Link 5100 AGN adapter works perfectly. Also updated it, un- and reinstalled it => no effect.
Though, even without those exclamation marks, i'm pretty sure my network doesn't send out much ip6 stuff, so it should still work... But it's not just my network at home, it simply won't detect any wireless networks anymore. Also tried windows recovery to put it back in the state before it wouldn't work anymore, but no effect.
My USB wireless adapter does not detect one specific network anymore on my laptop (toshiba). It was detecting it until a while ago, and all of a sudden I cannot see the network anymore. However, when i connect the wireless adapter to my other laptop (lenovo), the network is detected. Nothing has changed in the wireless network, and no programs were installed on my laptop (toshiba) before the network stopped appearing.

View 1 Replies View RelatedSo I have a wireless router downstairs in my house that usually reaches around the whole house. However as of a couple days ago, whenever I am upstairs I only get limited connectivity. It still detects my router, but I an exclamation point and I can't connect to the internet. However when I am downstairs I have a connection that actually works. This applies to multiple laptops, computers, phones, etc.
View 1 Replies View RelatedSo lately my computer's wireless network has started to get really bad, we have 100mbit, and it only gets about 0.3. This seems to be an issue with the range, or something, since if i move the computer right next to the router, it runs at about 50-60mbit. Now a few days ago i decided to get an ethernet cable to try and solve the issue, but my computer doesn't detect a LAN connection, only the wireless one ( atleast it doesnt show up among the other connections). Some weeks ago the wireless connection worked nicely, but now suddenly it doesnt anymore. Currently i'm typing this from an old mac computer, since my internet doesn't work at all on my pc.

View 10 Replies View RelatedI installed the network adapter with no problem (using the CD included in the box) and it appears in my device manager and is working correctly. However, when I look look at the available networks I can only find BT Openzone (it's a pay as you go service, I'm using it now to try and fix this ), and some random BTHomeHub. I should be able to see a lot more, including my Virgin Media network, but I can't. It was the best 'Dongle'[?] in the store, so I'm guessing it's not an issue of proximity. I'm also certain that the network should be publicly visable.
OS: Windows XP PRO SP3
ISP: Virgin Media
USB Wireless adapter: Belkin Play dual-band N600 F7D4101
I have used Xirrus Wi-Fi Inspector and it does not detect any networks other than the two I've mentioned.

I was using my computer this evening and suddenly it lost the connection to my wireless network and is now saying there aren't any wireless networks in range at all. I know this is wrong because my laptop (which I'm writing this on now), my PS3 and my phone are all able to detect not only my own network but other networks in the area.I've tried a couple of restarts on my PC and it briefly connects to the network and the internet (it connects to Steam and if I'm quick I can look at a couple of webpages). After a couple of minutes though, it loses the connection and decides there aren't any networks in range again.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI have the WMP54G internal wireless adaptor. It normally works fine, but I have been having problems with it lately when I turn my computer back on from sleep. Even thought the wireless router works just fine, when the computer wakes up from sleep the adaptor does not seem to detect any network. I have to restart my computer, and then the adaptor detects the network.

Now I have connected to the router through Ethernet and it is working. I would like to connect through WiFi only

View 5 Replies View RelatedSo I just finished building my new PC. Installed windows 7. Plugged in wireless network adapter in USB port. It detects it and I'm able to connect to the internet. I download chrome and install it.
I restart the computer. And now it shows I have no network adapters and I can't find it in device manager. Plugged it in again in, used different ports.. to no avail. I plugged the network adapter into another PC and it works.
I have used the WRT54GC (v2.0) router for a few years now, everything worked as smooth as butter, but a few days ago it just stopped detecting the internet connection. Everything works fine with the modem. After resetting the router, I tried to reinstall everything using the setup wizard but at the eleventh step, a pop-up message appears saying that it is "unable to detect the Internet connection" and, like I said previously, the modem works just fine. The username and password for the connection are correct (connection type: PPPoE).
View 4 Replies View RelatedMy laptop keeps saying "Windows did not detect a properly installed network adapter. If you have a network adapter, you will need to re-insatll the driver". I've found the right one and it still want install. Says it's the wrong one but i'm pretty sure it's the right one. I just did a fresh install where i put windows 7 extreme on a laptop and i can't seem to ge the right drivers i guess. I don't know if it's the wrong driver or a bad NIC Card.

View 9 Replies View RelatedWe currently have 1 PC and my laptop connected to the internet with 0 hassle. My father brought in his work computer last night and asked me if I could set it up. Only problem is I cannot for the life of me have it connect to the internet.
He has a PC with Win7, and when I search for a network it says there's no connections available. The PC is inches away from the modem. Also, our other two computers had no problem picking out the connection after a quick scan.
I started to lose hope when I ran an ethernet cable into the PC to see if I could get it to recognize the connection.
No luck. This is not a brand new computer, it's his work computer that before the move was operating just fine.
My fianc just reinstalled Windows XP Home Edition last night as his computer was virus-ridden and it was becoming impossible to use. It took a couple times for the computer to even pick up the Windows disc, but fourth time lucky and it was good to go. Once reinstalled we tried to get everything checked and download some anti-spyware etc, but it wouldn't pick up the router. The router is wireless, but connects to his computer via a cable. The router is a Netgear 54 MPBS Wireless Router, DG834G v3. We have been told that the computer should just automatically pick up the router, but the only way it will allow us to try and connect is via a dial up connection.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI tried 3 cables, and even one of them was new. So im sure the problem isn't the cables. For some reason, whenever I connect a ehternet cable to my computer, I cannot seem to get internet connection through it. Some days ago I installed this Wireless Lan device from a CD, that came with a sort of antenne I had to put on my computer. It works great, BUT its slow. Thats why i would like to go on internet with cable again. I remember one day to another that my computer didn't detect the cables anymore, what could be the problem?
View 7 Replies View RelatedI am about to buy a Netbook from HP with windows 7 Starter. But a few days back when I tried to connect my friend's laptop to my network using WiFi ,it accessed the Internet but did not detect any other XP computers on the Network neither could I ping them nor could I access their shared folders.
2)And What is N Draft?? and how is it different from WiFi-N?
3)And can I set up Guest Network so that I can give the connected computers Internet access but no Shared Folder access..
My desktop failed to detect the local area network, but my laptop successfully detects that network. What may be the reason? Both the case, the green light is blinking (Means there is not problem with the cable/line ?). Is it a problem related to the network pin? The same desktop is successfully connecting through another line. So it means, it not an issue with desktop computer or it's configuration.
View 8 Replies View RelatedWe have been having a problem with one computer on our network unable to detect our network, or when it rarely does connect, it only has one bar and barely works. The files we attached are one of the times it could connect, when we finally caught it at the right time.We have a total of five computers/laptops on our network connected at different times. We recently updated the router and we've updated the drivers for the network adapter on the problem computer.Neither has worked. The computer was moved here a few months ago and because of condensation the graphics card was destroyed. We took it to a computer repair shop (which is how we found this out) and they installed a new graphics card. It hasn't worked since it got here. That computer was traditionally used for gaming (before it moved here) but if we can get into an online game, our ping is really high, in the 100s.
