Sony Vaio Can't Find Connection When Wireless Switch Is On
Jul 24, 2011
I already uninstalled norton internet security also. Im using a sony vaio windows vista intel pentium dual cpu T2330 @1.60Ghz with ram of 1014 Mb and a system type of 32-bit Operating System.
i cannot find any ethernet driver for my Sony Vaio VPCEE26FG / VPCEE26FJ , this laptop is bought from japan, and i think that is the problem why i cannot find any compatible driver for this laptop. i use Win7 Ulti 32bitI have been searching for a compatible driver in rougly 5 hours
Im using a Sony vaio laptop with windows vista. My Internet used to work perfectly and suddenly today my wireless will connect but I can't use the Internet. My iPhone and my aunts laptop can connect and work fine, it's just my laptop that has the problem. I've tried a system restore and a few other things but nothing seems to work
I have a Sony VAIO desktop, 5 years old running windows XP. Recently, I started getting ntoskrnl32 missing and refused to boot. My local computer guy said that it is a hard disk problem and ended up putting new hard disks and reinstalled XP. But I keep internet connection after about 5-10 minutes. If I disable and enable "Local Area Connection" it works for sometime and stops again. I have a Cisco wireless router that I use. I use that to browse with my iPhone as well.
I have a sony vaio laptop which has just been formatted (had xp before, Still has xp but now sp3) and now the wireless icon is not anywhere !No Wireless option under network connections either...
My Sony Vaio laptop with windows 7 cant connect wirelessly to the internet. I can only connect using Ethernet cable. I have followed all the advice I can find online but nothing is working. Ive downloaded new drivers etc. I am a student in a house with 6 other people and I am the only one experiencing wireless connectivity problems
i have a sony vaio VPC, with windows 7 home premium, just 3 weeks old. when it starts up and starts detecting the wireless, most of the time it crashes and goes to the blue screen. sometimes it tries to connect and cannot, and then when i hit connect it crashes, or it crashes when i hit repair. after 2 or 3 times of going to the blue screen, it connects to wireless and works. but if i restart it crashes again (or not). i don't know what to do! there is no authorized sony repair center in the country. i dont know what to do
New laptop, Sony Vaio. At first it started having problems holding a wireless internet connection (kept dropping) now it won't connect at all, wirelessly.I have a Dlink DIR 625 modem which was working perfectly. I bought a new one, thinking this was the issue. Same thing happened. Contacted my ISP, they said the modem was fine (even came out to confirm). It is a Scientific Atlanta modem. Contacted Sony and their tech did a lot of R.C to my laptop and tried a number of things. They couldn't solve it, thought it was a hardware issue (loose wire in the network card) so they had me bring it out of town to be fixed. I did that, they said it wasn't hardware that it was software and that it was working in their store. I got it home and it still didn't work.To be on the safe side, I swapped out the modem and got a new one. Still not working. I followed instructions in previous forums to do a 'stack reset' and it still didn't resolve my issue.I updated the network drivers from Sony's site, disabled AVG firewall entirely and it still doesn't work. I can connect now only by hard line connection but even still it drops. [code]
Sony Vaio laptop model pcg-71314L - unable to connect to wireless devices - after many attempts at fixing - decided to upgrade to Win 7 Pro. Once loaded, there are no drivers/devices/controllers listed for networking
I just bought a Sony Vaio SVS15 and all I've done is set up the OS (Win7 Pro 64bit) and thus far, have not been able to connect to the internet wirelessly. I can use the internet if I plug in the ethernet cable but it does not detect any available networks using wireless even though I can connect wirelessly using other devices. I have updated the laptop using Windows Update and downloaded the latest driver for the wireless adapter (Intel Centrino Advanced N-6235) and still have had no success. Also, I have not yet installed any kind of Anti-Virus Software.
Here is the IP Config output

my laptop Sony vaivo VGN-N38E/w cannot connect to through wifi to DSL wifi of ptcl but others at home can connect . My laptop connects to othres outside home but not inside?
I have a Sony Vaio Model VGN-NS20E (Vista) that has built-in Wireless. The PC was heavily infected by Virus and I had to re-install Vista Operating system. The system is now running fine (picture, DVD drive, sound etc )although, it will not detect the Wireless Adapter, hence the wireless will not work.I went to the manufacturer's computer website and downloaded the driver and (I think ) installed the driver on the laptop. The yellow "wireless" light on the front of laptop is not lit, even though it is switched to on.Am I right in thinking it is the wireless network adapter that isn't working and not the driver as when I go to "Device Manager" and look at the Network Drives, it only shows the wired Ethernet option. This added to the fact the yellow wireless light doesn't come on, on the front makes me think it is the adapter and not the driver.
My Sony VAIO VPCEH36FX laptop has trouble staying connected to wireless for long. I've only had it for about a week now and it's been happening since Day 1. It alternates between trying to connect, to being connected but with limited access, to not being connected at all. However, if I unplug the router and plug it back in, the laptop will work fine anywhere from 30 minutes to a couple hours. But after that it goes back to trying to connect/limited access. I doubt it's a problem with the router, as all other devices in the house work fine with it. It's a Linksys Cisco router. It doesn't have a password or anything.
For the past few days my laptop (Sony Vaio VGN-CR353) suddenly unable to detect/find my home wireless network but my other devices (ipad2/ipod) can detect my own wireless network. My laptop can however still can detect my neighbours' wireless network.
I have had some problems in the last few days regarding my wireless router. i am using a Sony Vaio VGN-NS30E laptop with a TP-Link Wireless N Adsl2+ modem router. ISP = Utility Warehouse. Network Adapter = Atheros AR928X Wireless Adapter.
I can connect via Ethernet, but as soon as i try and use my wireless it comes up with "unable to connect". I also have a Print server running in the other room to allow me to print wireless. I have had all the wireless connections working up until this week (monday).
Called technical support after losing internet connection repeatedly and internet getting slower. ISP know reckons i should be getting up to 11.5mb's per second download, but connecting is the problem now.
I have a Sony Vaio VGNFW378D that runs with Windows Vista. Ever since I got this computer (about 2 yrs ago), I have had problems with it suddenly disconnecting from the internet. When this happens it could never detect any wireless networks and I would have to restart the computer to temporarily solve the problem. It usually happened after the computer was in hibernation.
Yesterday this happened again, only this time restarting the computer did not solve the problem. When I could not connect to a network I clicked on "Diagnose why Windows cannot find any additional networks" and it said "Install wireless networking hardware, and verify that the correct drivers are loaded".
I went onto the Sony website to download the Intel Wifi link 5100 AGN wireless LAN Driver and updates. The download was not successful and I received a message indicating that the latest updates of this driver were already installed in my computer.
Representatives at Sony only directed me to links that had steps to finding out what my problem was, which I followed with no success. Most of the steps included enabling the adapter in the device manager, uninstalling and reinstalling the driver, etc...I could not do any of these things because the driver does not appear in the device manager at all.
On cyber monday of 2010 i purchased this sony mini it was working fine with the dsl ./..then 2 weeks ago i switched from dsl to fiberoptic verizon fios that is...my other 2 laptops are connecting fine...but not this one ...it does not ask for the wep key/...so it wont connect....but if i use a ithernet cable... is asking for the wep key and boommmm ok....no problem ,then i unplug the cable and with in 2 minutes a disclamation point appair on the connection signal...i called both the internet provider and sony and of course they point fingers on eachother....techsupport from sony changed the wireless router key(password)....they told my thah is not compatible...with window.
I can't get my Sony VAIO to connect to the Internet via wireless or ethernet. It was working fine and then suddenly lost all Internet connectivity. Under the status it says "connected with limited access." I have an iPad and my smartphone running on the network so I know it's not a network issue.
I'm currently experiencing an issue where the on/off switch to my Sony Vaio VPCCW21FX is currently a little bit loose. I don't recall ever applying any type of shock to the computer but realized when I pulled it out of my bag, it was somewhat loose which was strange because I always handled my laptop with great care. So I'm attempting to connect to my WiFi network and when trying to turn it on and off, I don't get a response from the computer indicating it's now ready to search for a network, it acts like I intentionally turned off the WiFi and kept it off even though I have it turned to off.
I attempted to run the troubleshooting process on the laptop but it states that I need to turn on my WiFi to fix the issue but I already have it switched to on.
Now I know at this time that I wouldn't be able to get this repaired without being charged an arm and a leg so I wanted to see if it was possible to turn on the WiFi from within the laptop, somewhat like using software to turn it on instead of the hardware on/off switch for the wireless connection.
I have a problem with getting the internet wirelessly, since having my router changed I can only get internet with a ethernet cable,on my Sony Vio, if this makes any sense the WLAN is working but the LAN is not enabled, I have tried to connect to a network but without any luck, I come up with a message about a network adapter not working & a unidentified internet access ,the router is not at fault as my other laptop works perfectly well on wireless. I have Vista O.S
Basically when I try and connect to my wifi (netgear router) I get a very strong signal but local only access & an unidentified network. I have my desktop & 2 more laptops running off this router so it can't be that. After failing to connect to wifi I tried to use an ethernet connection to try and update my drivers in hope that would fix the wifi problem. After plugging the ethernet in I was in exactly the same position, I kept getting 'Identifying' appear in network connections which then turned to unidentified and wouldn't allow me to connect to the internet either! The laptop is about 3-4 years old I think so I did update the drivers but that didn't do anything either,
we have 3 laptops connected to our home network, 2 Gateways and my Sony Vaio. We have AT&T U-Verse and the 2 gateways get speeds of ~12Mb/s while I get speeds of less than 3Mb/s. I've searched countless forums but I can't seem to find the problem. We got U-verse installed in January and the internet on my laptop was on par with the other ones. But I went back to school and came back home for break and it's as slow as mollases.
I can't get wi-fi on my linksys to work with my computer. It finds it as a network but doesn't allow internet. cord connection works but no wi-fi. My computer data: Sony VAIO, Windows Vista, linksys adapter.
I have a BT Home Hub 2 router with a working internet connection. I'm using a different laptop on the same router to make this post.I have another laptop which cannot browse the internet. It runs on Windows 7, can connect to the router fine, but get no intenet connection. Now oddly enough, I can connect to and download games from Steam, but I cannot browse to websites using IE or Firefox and I cannot connect to MSN messenger.
When I click on Troubleshoot in messenger it tells me:
"Your DNS appears unable to resolve IP adresses" and then...
When I click repair, it can't fix it.
If I right click on the connection and click on status, I see...
If I click on Details, I then see...
If I right click on the connection and click on Troubleshoot Problems, I get this...

I have a sony vaio VGN-FE41S running vista. I can connect to a wireless network, but I have limited connectivity. So I can't access any website. My laptop was first running vista, no internet. I installed windows 7. The internet worked, I was able to access any website. But the keyboard did not work in windows 7. I again installed windows vista, now my keyboard works fine. But I can't access any website.
