I need a cheap router that can route between two ranges.
10.10.6.x
and
10.10.7.x
I don't want to use a PC with two network cards....I just need something cheap and simple.I was wondering whether any low to mid end consumer routers allows you to assign IP addresses for ethernet slots, or even create VLANs..?
i can search for networks. As you can tell i am currently on the internet on my laptop. I can search for the current network i am on through my adapter. I then connect to it. It says im connected to a unidentified network. It will not let me search the internet or anything else.
i am having a problem with my desktop right now, just recently i re-installed Windows7, a clean format... but then i suddenly noticed that i cant connect to the internet, no network adapters are detected on the Network Connections, its empty i looked at the Device Manager and saw a yellow warning on realtek rtl8139/810x family fast ethernet nic, i download the driver using my laptop (wireless connection)... and installed that driver on my desktop pc then checked the device manager once again, but it still has a yellow warning.i dont know what to do anymore, and at the last screenshot theres this error message: This device cannot find enough free resources that it can use. (Code 12) If you want to use this device, you will need to disable one of the other devices on this system.i have two lan cards, one at the motherboard(not in use) and the other PCI-E lan card (tp-link ) ...im just wondering if that Realtek i just installed is the lan driver for the motherboard?
My problem is that my XP network cannot access my Win7 server, but its not the same problem that has so many solutions around on the internet. Here is my situation:I have 2 networks in my office.
-Network1 consists of 3 WinXP machines connected via Router1 to Modem1 to the internet.
-Network2 consists of 7 64-bit Windows7 machines connected via a Switch to Router2 to Modem2 and then to the internet.
I also have a server machine running Windows7 64bit with two network cards. One NIC is connected to Router1, the other connected to the Switch. All of the above machines are all under the same work group: WORKGROUP..My Windows7 machines on Network2 can interact fine with the server. However, my WinXP machines cannot access the server "most" of the time, I've had a rare few occasions where it magically worked.
i have 2 laptop with wifi and ethernet and a pc with ethernet. so can i connet these 3 together in this condition: first laptop to second laptop with wifi, and second laptop to pc with wire. so i can play game 3 together or connect internet all to one internet and etc...can the second laptop be server?i dont have hub, router and adapter. i have only cable.
I'm trying to find some 4 ports network cards to add to my system but can't seem to find one that works.
I have an abit IP35-E motherboard
3 PCI slots (32 bits 5v)
2 PCI-e x1 slots
The only NIC I found are PCI-E x4 and PCI-X. I have been reading and some website said that PCI-X card doesn't work with PCI slots and some said it works but just at a lower speed.Where and how are guys are adding Network cards into your system?
Three days ago people started complaining that it seemed slow. It's supposed to be 100mbps fully switched, but I'm getting speeds of 2mbps - 12mbps (at most) between two workstations on the same switch (which is just insane). I did happen to notice on a couple of the Mac OS X machines that the send and receive errors are off the charts (50% - 80% error rate)!!! This seems a bit suspicious to me.
I have just upgraded my pc with a new motherboard and am trying to get it online however when I try to install my D-link router I get "get adaptersinfo failed." I checked device manager and the network adapter says "this device cannot start. (code10) I have been trying really hard to find the driver updates I need but have only come across broken links and false downloads. In device manager It is called Realtek RTL8168/8111 Family PCI-E Ethernet Nic (NDIS 6.0)If i use hardware helper to see the driver that needs updating it is called Realtek GbE & FE Ethernet PCI-E NIC Drivers.
I was also struggling with locale area net work.. When i have installed fresh window into my PC. The Locale area plugen showing but no internet conection found. I have restart my PC couple of times while sitting my different internet provider connections. Alteas i have reinstall my window xp so i guess may be its my window problem it have missing some files.
I just got my firstĀ 3945 router and E3/T3 Network cards and when I do a sho ver I can see the E3/T3 card but when I do a show run all I see are the 3 GE interfaces.
I have a computer in my garage that is connected to my Linksys router in the house via Cat 6 Cable. The computer in the garage has dual NIC cards installed and working fine. I am trying to get the Camera to feed back to the router from the second NIC card in the garage computer. The first NIC is communicating fine with the router.
Linksys Settings: 192.168.1.1 255.255.255.0
NIC 1: 192.168.1.145 (static) 255.255.255.0 192.168.1.1
[code]....
After messing around with many different thoughts and tries, I have successfully contacted 192.168.1.120 (the camera) from garage Computer While camera is connected to NIC 2.Camera wants a crossover cable to function properly and won't accept patch cable, I have tried with new cables...no change it needs crossover cable when connected straight to the NICs.
Camera: 192.168.1.120 255.255.255.0 192.168.1.1
Now the problem is I cannot view or access the Camera from my main Computer inside the house Like I need to....
I just moved into a new apartment and I bought a usb wireless adapter so I could make use of the virgin media broadband. I've only ever used the internet on this computer via my ethernet connectionI installed the network adapter with no problem (using the CD included in the box) and it appears in my device manager and is working correctly. However, when I look look at the available networks I can only find BT Openzone (it's a pay as you go service, I'm using it now to try and fix this ), and some random BTHomeHub. I should be able to see a lot more, including my Virgin Media network, but I can't. It was the best 'Dongle'[?] in the store, so I'm guessing it's not an issue of proximity. I'm also certain that the network should be publicly visable. [CODE]
WOke up this morning and my desktop will connect to the router via LAN and WLAN, but states that there is no external internet connectivty.I know this isn't the case as my MAC will connect via WLAN and LAN (same ethernet cable) and I can access external sites. My router is therefore working correctly and my internet connection is fine.I presume this must be some kind of driver issue, but it states that my drivers are installed, up to date and working correctly
I am having a HP Laptop with Windows Vista 64 bit OS. Since today I am having problem with my wireless network adapter card. It is remaining disabled and not getting enabled. I uninstalled the driver as well as disable the card but it is not working. The problem is Quick launch button on HP laptop for wireless card is showing as enabled but my network center shows it as disabled.
I have a desktop pc and my connection to the internet is via a router. I cannot get my nic card to work but only after a reboot! When it first boots up, the card isn't even shown on the device manager. After a reboot, everything works great. Already tried another nic card but it cannot get an ip address and the connection shows a yellow exclamation mark with "no or limited connectivity!"
PC experienced a 2sec power outage today and now the Wireless Network Adapter is missing from device manager. I've tried rebooting several times but no success. All other devices I have in the house can all connect to the router with no problems.
I am converting my home phone jacks to network enabled jacks. The house phone system was wired with Cat 5e. All the wall jacks are terminated properly with RJ-45 connectors. At the junction box outside I have connected the 4 pairs to their color equivalent.I have also purchased a "patch board" to terminate and combine all the wiring in one spot.Once all the wires are connected, I tested the wiring (Sperry cable tester). It tells me there is a short in 1-2. I've made it this far and I'm really close, I just need to know which pair I need to focus on. Is pair 1-2 Orange/OrangeWhite, Green/GreenWhite, etc?
I've noticed that the light on my laptop's Ethernet jack can be one of three colors depending on where it's connected. It's normally green, however in my dorm room it's red-orange, and at a local library it's amber.
In my computer. My network places properties did not see lan card. But the device manager lan card driver is enable but it did not appear in the my network place how it enable .
I work in a facility where not everyone communicates very well. Everyone seems to have there own method of labeling ethernet cables. We have several hubs (actually it is a cage with a patch panel and a cabinet with several switches containing over 200 ports) in this facility. The roof is supported by columns and the columns are number 1-35 from south to north and A-W from east to west. So the hubs are easily idientiyable by the column number that they are close to, but this is where the standard ends. Some people use the patch panel and port of the patch panel, some people use the server stack number and the port. What is the proper way to label these. Linking a website demonstrating this standard s I can print it off and share with others would be great.
I am working on my Mom's computer so I will need to download any files to a flashdrive to transfer. Her Compaq CQ5110Y Vista 32/bit pk 1 has lost it's network. I also just discovered a Trojan Horse Dropper in the BSTQBackA file. Did I mention I know nothing about this tech stuff? Norton states some files cannot be healed?
Ive been using a d link network card for one of my desktops. It was working perfectly. But since my computer was starting to slow down I decided to format the harddrive and re install windows xp. Now the Network Card is not being recognized on the pc. Any idea how to make it work? I don't know where the Cd is and what model it is...
I was looking at an XP system that has 4 user accounts. Two are limited accounts and two are admin accounts. The adapter is a DLINK DWA-125 USB adapter. When logged into one of the admin accounts, internet works fine. When logged into one of the limited accounts, internet works fine.If I switch to either of the other accounts, the adapter can't get an IP address. If I switch back to one of the accounts that works, I get an IP right away.
We moved to a different city and trying to access any available network but can't connect. Says no network found. I click diagnose and it says "This computer does not have a wireless network adapter installed and configured"
I'm typing this on my Droid X so pardon the typos. I don't really know where to start or what direction to take so I'll list my major problem, then all the facts/info/and actions I've taken to attempt to fix the problem.Problem - I can not connect to the internet and no network adapter shows up under device manager I have an Asus 5671 running windows 7. I purchased the unit about a year ago. It's outside of the manufacturers warranty. Power went out about a week and a half ago and I believe this has something to do with the cause of the problem. I have repeatedly spoken to ASUS about this downloaded the network drivers from their site. When I install them I receive no error message saying they were installed incorrectly or failed to install, but my network adapter still does not show up. I have recovered my computer to factory settings and the problem has not gone away.
While attempting to recover my computer to factory settings, I found out it didn't already come with a recovery disk set up, so I followed the prompts to make a recovery disk (after all this trouble was already happening), so I wonder if creating a recovery disk was pointless since the network issue was already present. I have my router hard lined to my computer, and it's wireless on. The wireless works with my PS3. My computer itself is not wireless. Asus first said the problem was 100% digital, now say it's a hardware problem. I was told I will have to buy a new motherboard to fix the issue.
I need to connect 4-6 laptops in a mesh network topology. What equipment do I need (switches, hubs cable etc..) and how should I create the connection?
