View 1 RepliesI Have a HP dc5000MT desktop. I run an ethernet cable from its network card {Broad NetXtreme Gigabit} to a Westell 327W router{this has worked for the last four years}. My laptop connects to the internet through this router using wireless and for test purposes through the ethernet port. I installed a new network card {Dynex DX-E102 PCI NetworkAdaptor}in the desktop. When i'm enabling either the old or new card through Control Panel, Network Connections, i get the message "acquirin network address,Firewalled".and it never enables. I ran Malwarebytes and no infections were found. I use AVG anti-virus and Internet Explorer.
View 17 Replies View RelatedIt may be a coincidence but my Broadcom Network Adapter 802.11g stopped working after trying to fix 'unknown device' in Device Manager (It was working perfectly before this).OS: Windows 7 Starter on 'BenQ Joybook Lite U105'.I tried the Windows Network trouble shooter and it didn't work (saying there may be a problem with the driver. I uninstalled the driver and re-installed it (including a possibly newer one) and it didn't work. Within 'Network Connections" the Broadcom wireless adapter is shown as 'disabled' I R-clicked to enable it, a window popped up saying it was enabled but it still showed as being disabled. My feeling is that something is preventing it from being enabled, logically, I would guess. Also went to 'Component Services' and ether started or restarted everything with the word network on it still no luck..My Google search on an other pc , now on day 3, couldn't find anything. (BTW the 'unknown device' which according to the icon, seems to be the joybook itself, is still not fixed and still listed as 'unknown device').

View 19 Replies View RelatedI walked in to the room and my 1 year old daughter was carrying my laptop. I turned it on and now I no longer have the option to connect to wireless networks. It's like the computer doesn't recognize a wireless card. I have an old dell with windows xp. At first thought I figured that she may had dropped it and dislodged the card, so I took the cover of the slot off and everything seems to be in place. The wireless card is a broadcom.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI built a computer a while ago, from a reasonably low budget. Ever since the very first boot up, the wireless card (TP-Link, unable to find model currently, will add later) only works on the second consecutive boot up. I have no idea why, I have not found anything relating to a problem like this, the computer doesn't even appear to know that there is a wireless card in it. Instead the icon shows a cable, suggesting that the computer isn't connecting with the card.

Recently my wirless internet stopped working. I am running a HP dv 9000 laptop. The indicator light always stays amber (instead of turning blue when turned on) on external wirless switch. The wireless adaptor should be a Broadcom 802.11b. This does not show up in device manager, but my computer says the driver for it is installed. In the device manager there is one device with a yellow question mark beside it called "other device". Under this device there are three more devices called "base system device" with a yellow exclamation point next to them
View 7 Replies View RelatedMy dad recently purchased a wireless LAN card to connect to our router for ADSL internet. The card is labelled on the box as a Mecer WF-2113M 300Mbps Wireless-N PCI-E Adapter. Link: WF-2113 Mecer 802.11b/g/n Internal Wireless PCI-e Card - Mecer
First off I could not get the card to work with the original drivers that came with the card so I updated the drivers. (The card's chipset is a Realtek RTL8192CE). After the driver update the card worked perfected until the BSOD's started completely at random. see attached image with description of BSOD.
PC's Specs:
Asus P8H61M LX Motherboard
Intel Core I3-2100 CPU @ 3,10ghz
2x2gb DDR3-1333 Ram
Gigabyte ODIN 460w PSU
Nvidia Geforce 9500Gt GPU
Windows 7 Ultimate x64
The PC was running perfectly before we installed the card. Is there anything that I can do to solve the issue? Unfortunately I cannot test the card in my PC or my brother's as we both don't have PCI-E x1 slots. Also not sure the PC shop will take the card back.
I googled it and I got instructions to go into device manager and right click wireless adaptors, and enable, but their is 5 adaptors listed. I am not sure what one or option to pick

View 2 Replies View RelatedMy girlfriend's computer has quite suddenly developed the problem that the wireless card simply will not turn on.She has an Asus Notebook G60 Vx Series, which has a switch on the front as well as Fn+F2 for turning wireless on/off. Yesterday, she noticed it wasn't working even though the switch was "on", but was able to use Fn+F2 to enable it. Today, neither will work. It simply won't turn on.Ethernet works fine when connected directly to the router. Device manager detects "Intel(R) WiFi Link 5100 AGN" as working correctly and drivers as up-to-date.I feel like this must be a software/driver problem, but everything seems to be checking out. [code]
View 8 Replies View RelatedI have a new brand dell inspiron 1525 laptop and everytime i boot i get a message "Dell wireless WLAN card wireless network controller stopped working and was closed.
A problem caused the application to stop working correctly.Windows will notify you if a solution is available.I use windows vista premium and dell wireless 1390 802.11g.
Now my problem started happening after my desktop computer got unplugged. When I booted back up, I was unable to connect to my access point. Or find any of the other networks it can always see. I took my laptop and set up an ad hoc network and it came right up. The wireless access point has not been changed and it is perfectly fine. I've updated the drivers from Ralink, nothing. Uninstalled and rebooted, nothing. Checked the BIOS for any settings, nothing. Made sure the radio was turned on, nothing.
View 6 Replies View RelatedI purchased a computer with a pre-installed wireless card which was stated to be b/g/n compatible. When I go to setup a connection to the wireless network (through a Netgear WGR614 v8 router), it has no problem detecting it with a full five bars. However, when it prompts me to enter the password I do, but immediately afterwords another password box appears prompting me to reenter the password again. After repeatedly doing so, it will eventually say the password is incorrect. I know the it is correct because I've since purchased a Netgear USB adapter for temporary purposes and it connects using the password. I've even accessed the router to ensure the password I was using was correct and it is.

View 19 Replies View RelatedI have a pci wireless card that I have been using with the same router for some time. All of a sudden in the last couple of weeks it suddenly developed some habbit of dropping the signal from the router on random intervals. During the times that it does it, it will do it over and over again for hours sometimes. It will connect, then drop off less than a minute later, then reconnect again. It will just suddenly say "No Connections available",when normally there are at least 3 connections displayed in the list(2 neighbors and 1 mine).
I am using Windows 7 64 bit and I just now did a fresh reformat on the hard drive an hour or so ago to try and rule out the option of conflicting software/drivers/malware and so on. The problem seems to be persisting still.I have the latest drivers that I can find for my card and updated firmware on the router(same exact setup I have always used).
I am running Windows 7 on a system with an Asus P5ND Mobo and am trying to install a Tenda W322P wireless card. The led on the card doesn't light up indicating no power is making it to the card. I have tried installing the drivers off the cd but it says it won't as it cannot detect the card and I installed the drivers from their website but Windows still won't detect it. I have tried turning PCIpnp both on and off at the mobo but nothing seems to make a difference. Have they just sent me a duff card or could it be my mobo or something else?
