i have an Asus u56e that I recently bought a couple of moths ago. It has been a great computer until today when my wireless randomly disappeared for no reason. The wireless adapter has been disabled for no reason, and when I try to re-enable it, I can't seem to find it.
View 1 RepliesI have an ASUS u56e laptop running Win7 Pro that I bought in Aug 2011. Unfortunately my problems started when I was working in East Timor and could not take it anywhere except the IT department where I worked. It is true that for a while I was using the LAN at work and also at my hotel where numerous ISPs were used at various points in time.
I have progressively lost almost total use of the wireless capacity of the machine and this is regardless of where I am using the computer (country, state, public or private networks). Very rarely will I have access and then not for long. When it is not working I will get a message saying that a network adapter cannot be found.
I have updated the driver software and experimented with the power settings. I have also uninstalled an ASUS utility that I read might have been a problem. About the only thing that sometimes works is to disable the network adapter, shut down, and then restart the computer. But not for long.
There is WiMax capability that came with the computer, which I bought at Best Buy. Based on IT advice I have made sure that WiMax is off but the wifi button indicates 'on.' When I am having problems though, I cannot see the wifi button.
I am using Windows Firewall and Webroot SecureAnywhere v.8.02.109. At device manager I see for network adapters: Intel(R) Centrino(R) WiMax 6150 and Intel(R)Centrino(R) WirelessN6150. There is also an entry above for a 6150 Function Driver.

I've been using an 802.11 b/g USB wireless network adapter card with my computer to use in conjunction with an AT&T 2Wire router,which is about 20 or 30 feet away off in another room.After about 10 minutes on average, the adapter will stop transferring data suddenly, and it will stay that way for a while. If I do nothing, then sometimes it will start up again after several more minutes, but instead of waiting, I usually will select "Repair" from the Wireless Network Connection pop-up menu, which also works to get it started again. The problem though, naturally, is that after another little while, like about 10 minutes again, it will short out all over again. Sometimes, very rarely, it will stay working for up to maybe an hour, and sometimes, it can short out yet again within a few seconds.
View 9 Replies View RelatedIt may be a coincidence but my Broadcom Network Adapter 802.11g stopped working after trying to fix 'unknown device' in Device Manager (It was working perfectly before this).OS: Windows 7 Starter on 'BenQ Joybook Lite U105'.I tried the Windows Network trouble shooter and it didn't work (saying there may be a problem with the driver. I uninstalled the driver and re-installed it (including a possibly newer one) and it didn't work. Within 'Network Connections" the Broadcom wireless adapter is shown as 'disabled' I R-clicked to enable it, a window popped up saying it was enabled but it still showed as being disabled. My feeling is that something is preventing it from being enabled, logically, I would guess. Also went to 'Component Services' and ether started or restarted everything with the word network on it still no luck..My Google search on an other pc , now on day 3, couldn't find anything. (BTW the 'unknown device' which according to the icon, seems to be the joybook itself, is still not fixed and still listed as 'unknown device').

I have inserted it into the appropriate slot and when I start up Windows the device driver states that it has not installed correctly.The device driver is: Marvell Libertas 802.11b/g Wireless LAN Client Adapter. I've tried everything to fix it.It's a D-Link DWA-525 802.11n Wireless PCI netowrk adapter. On device manager it just says 802.11 Wireless LAN Card with a yellow exclamation next to it. And when I check what the error is, it's either error 31 or 52 at different times, depending what I've tried to do to fix it.I tried downloading the driver for it off the D-Link website, nothing happens at all when I install it. I tried taking it out of my computer and plugging it in. My laptop connects to the internet through this router using wireless and for test purposes through the ethernet port. I installed a new network card {Dynex DX-E102 PCI NetworkAdaptor}in the desktop. When i'm enabling either the old or new card through Control Panel, Network Connections, i get the message "acquirin network address,Firewalled".and it never enables. I ran Malwarebytes and no infections were found. I use AVG anti-virus and Internet Explorer.

I am attempting to upgrade my internal wireless adapter to the Intel Advanced N 6235 card.After installing the new wireless card and loading the latest drivers from Intel, the card is not working correctly. Brand new Sony VAIO laptop with blu-ray has an Intel WiFi bgn 1000 wireless network adapter. It worked fine for couple of days, until i brought it to work. We use wireless connection in our office. Maximum 7 computers are connected at a time. All other 6 laptops connect to our network with no problems (all of them are on win7x64). Now, back to the problem. Wireless works at home and at work in the evening , when no one in the office. I've removed all 3rd party software, uninstalled Intel software. Am using clean driver from the Intel website. Tried different revisions of the driver - issue is still there. I've contacted VAIO support. This is not known issue to them. They offered standard actions (unisntalling the driver, power management options, enabling VAIO Smart Network). No updates of fixes on their support website. I have also checked in the event viewer. There is only one service being enabled and disabled constantly (TCP/IP NetBIOS Helper) - which is happening at the same time with wireless drop. There are about 5-8 drops per minute. Computer browser service disabled. Firewall disabled, antivirus disabled. We assume this could be an interference with mobile diveces. While now, we have disabled all wireless cards on all computers, switched off mobile phones. And... AXAXAXAXA!!! BSOD 0x00000018 (0x000....00, 0xFFFFFA800754A750, 0x00...02, 0xFC01020EFC01020B).

So this is a new Wireless-G Notebook Adapter(WPGC54G v1.2) I just got in the mail today. I went to the linksys/cisco website and they only have version 1, 2, 3, etc. Mine says 1.2 so I tried version 1. After installing and following all steps it said the software that connects was inactive.
After searching the internet a bit I found a thread stating v1.2 is version 2. So, I downloaded version 2 and ran that. Now the software isn't inactive but it doesn't "connect" in the linksys software, show any wireless devices, or do anything. I went into device manager and found the wireless card, updated drivers manually, and selected the folder I downloaded from linksys website to search for update drivers. It all ran fine and said drivers were installed. Still won't work. LINK light is not on card, POWER is.
Using a Toshiba Tecra 9000. So my last attempt... I uninstalled everything and stuck the card in and let windows recognize it. Selected manual install, went to the folder I downloaded for ver. 2 to search for drivers. Said everything installed and did drivers successfully but windows says "wireless network unavailable."
I was wondering what kind of wireless network adapter stick I should get for my windows 7 computer? My older one somehow had issues (device was not recognized or whatever)
View 4 Replies View RelatedI recently purchased a Belkin F5D8053 N Wireless USB Adapter after my 6 year old adapter was unable to see my home network in the network list.
I installed the software but the adapter wouldn't connect to my home network so I reinstalled and updated the driver, still wouldn't work. Finally about 2 hours later it just randomly connected. Now it has been frequently (1-2 times a day) losing connection to my home network for around 3 hours, it can see a dozen networks in the list with full signal strength but won't connect to any at all then connects to my home network again several hours later.
I have switched between the Windows connector and the Belkin one and tried all 6 USB slots with no luck. I contacted Belkin support and they told me to try the device on another computer and see if the problem still happens but I don't have another computer to test it with.
I suspect this is a problem with my Windows installation rather than the hardware or router as my old card would freeze once every couple of days and was only fixed by powering off my computer as Windows was unable to kill the process to restart it.
Today I bought a TP-Link 150 Mbps Wireless PCI Express Adapter so I can pick up the internet connection in my house from my home PC. (We use a laptop most of the time which is able to pick it up fine).I've installed the wireless adapter into the computer and installed the drivers however I receive an error message:
"The device may not be present or could have been ejected/unplugged from the system. Insert of Reinsert Now."
I have an hp g62 laptop and it has an Atheros ar9285 wireless adapter and a realtek pci-e ff ethernet adapter. For some reason just recently neither will connect to my netgear cable wifi router. I have two smartphones,xbox and two other laptops that connect with no problem. Everything is configured correctly that i can tell and both drivers have been updated. still nothing, it trys to connect but keeps saying identifying then it says no internet access. also i have disabled firewall and entered the security paraphrase twice just to make sure.

I checked on Speedtest.net - The Global Broadband Speed Test and it gives me 0.20 mbps it is not going to the max my max is 3.00 mbps it is not the wireless usb adapter because i checked on another computer and it went to the max 3.00 mbps and i putted it in the same location as my computer so than i realised that it was my computer that is giving slow download speed and it can't find much connections.

I've tried installying the cd driver, all the relevant drivers on the TP link website, and the generic atheros driver. I've also tried manually installing all those drivers using device manager to no avail, and it says "a device attached to your system is not functioning"
But I know the physical adaptor is working because I was able to successfully install it onto another computer (it was a windows 8 preview version).
Everytime i plug the cable into my PC it doesn't detect it and the helper says to insert an ethernet cable.When I go to network sharing centre and check my connections it says network adaptor unplugged.im using wireless at the moment.My pc is a packard bell ipower x9810. it was windows vista but i upgraded to windows 7, i checked the packard bell website and can't find any networking adaptors. Ever since the very first boot up, the wireless card (TP-Link, unable to find model currently, will add later) only works on the second consecutive boot up. I have no idea why, I have not found anything relating to a problem like this, the computer doesn't even appear to know that there is a wireless card in it. Instead the icon shows a cable, suggesting that the computer isn't connecting with the card.

It says Unidentified network and constantly remains in the Public Profile. Not even WiFi Sync is working...diagnostics reveal a problem with the drivers though several have been tried. From the originals to the latest version...Properties describe the device is working normally?
Wireless internet isn't working. The drivers aren't installed, and it never came with a cd so the only way I can install them is if i connect to the internet which i cant. I am thinking i need to download the drivers to a disk drive and then transfer them. Another possibility is, i somehow have a rogue virus on my computer ( probably julia who ruins everything )anyways it's called pc optimizer pro. I don't have an internet so i cant get any programs, but i got hijack this and TFC malware bytes and zone alarm security already on my computer.
