I have been connected and have a strong signal, but I deleted some books, and when I tried to open it. It told me I would have to reconnect to the netgear. I have tried everything I know to but it will not accept my password.
View 2 RepliesI have a Netgear Router at home, and both my Laptop and Tablet connect to it via WiFi. Now on both the Laptop and Tablet, Internet has recently become VERY slow. I contacted my ISP and they said everything on their side is fine, so it has to be on my side.What can cause this? I've checked for Malware but the fact that both the tablet and Laptop has slow internet points to the router. I also flushed my DNS on my laptop and booted into safemode with networking, internet still ridiculously slow.Note, both the laptop and tablet travel with me and did connect to other networks sometimes.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI was trying to remotely command my iTunes library via an iPhone app called Remote. It worked for some times with an intermittent disconnection problem due to the iPhone locking. But even after unlocking the phone and reconnecting the Wi-Fi, Remote couldn't find my iTunes library again and my only workaround was to relaunch iTunes on the PC (which is Ethernet-wired to my router). Few days ago nothing worked!!! I could no more get Remote to find iTunes.
I could not find a solution even by rebooting the router or unplugging the PC's Ethernet cable. Last night I powered off the router and after 10s I powered it on again. And then it worked!I highly suspect a problem between my router and Bonjour which is as UPnP, an Apple protocol for discovering communicating devices. Discovery phase being usually done with broadcast frames, something goes wrong in the router with processing the broadcasts, or is it a Bonjour problem?Please note that even now that Remote can find iTunes, I still have my old intermittent disconnection problem.So is there any incompatibility between WRT-610N and Bonjour and what is the fix ?

Even though the router has a lease for the computer on 192.168.1.11 it's doesn't work, although it will show that it's connecting, it won't ping anything, including the router... Speedtest.net with wifi connection on my laptop gives download of 2 MBPS but on my tablet a download of 20 MBPS. The laptop with ethernet connection also gives 20 MBPS.I replaced the whole modem/router.I uninstalled the wireless drive and let windows reinstall it (it's 2008 version)I couldn't find the exact model on Toshiba website to install the drive.I disabled encryption completely.

I have managed to get 2 of the 3 connected perfectly and have a connection of 65mb per second and the other one has a connection of 6mb per second!!I am certainly no computer expert, I am very worried that 2 are working spot on and the other has something wrong with it!!Is it something that could be set up wrong or is whatever makes the wifi connection faulty.

I had it connected and for other reasons I went into the router setup and disabled wireless, did nothing else. When I enabled wireless again (and did nothing else) I could not connect my Win 7 computer. Everything else connects just fine so I know it's not the router but this Win 7 computer.When I click on the connections icon it shows me all the available wireless networks and the Uverse show but has a red X on it and the popup says something to the effect it's trying to connect but the connections are not the same as are in the profile or the info.

After the switch, all machines except the tablet connect to the Internet. My tablet shows that its connected to the router but I cannot access the router admin pages or the Internet. All settings on the DIR-615 are the same as the TP-Link one.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI have been using my ACER tablet with my Netgear router for several months with no problems at all. Then last night I decided to restore my tablet to its default settings, meaning that all my programs, apps, files, etc., were erased. Then I rebooted my tablet and started from scratch, entering the requested information. Everything appeared to be going just fine until I turned on Wi-Fi and attempted to connect to my network (Secured with WPA2), which was available and showed Good signal strength. I clicked on it, then attempted to enter my password. As soon as I entered the first digit of my password, the option to Connect to the Internet immediately disappeared, becoming greyed-out. Repeated attempts to connect failed for the same reason.
I called ACER Level 2 Support and tried a couple of procedures which didn't solve the problem. One was pushing the Reset Button twice. The technician told me that I may have a problem with my router settings. He suggested that I go to a local fast food outlet and see if I could connect there. I went to McDonald's and was able to get on the Net without using a password. I returned home and tried again to connect, but still was unable to enter my password.
Would it make sense for me to completely disconnect my router from everything, then reconnect and go through that set-up process all over again? I guess I would have to change my User Name & Password, or whatever is required. Also, if I go this route, should I change my security setting from WPA2 to a different option -- WEP, for example? I just don't want to foul things up to the point where my laptop wouldn't work. I doubt that would happen. I recently received the Ice Cream Sandwich upgrade which has been working satisfactorily; however, it does mean that I'm now attempting to start over from scratch with a different operating system.

It finds my network, searches for an IP address, and then disconnects. It will connect for about 2 seconds, and then shows disconnected. My PC's, and WII work fine, although getting the WII ad netflix to reconnect after a power outage is like rocket science requiring field support every time. My tablet wont stay connected, and the book tells me that the router must accept 802.11b/g, and that if it has 802.11n, then it needs to be reconfigured to accept 802.11b/g.
