View 1 Replies View RelatedI had a TP-Link WR841N router which I replaced with a D-Link DIR-615 today. Before the replacement all my laptops, home desktop and my tablet would connect just fine. After the switch, all machines except the tablet connect to the Internet. My tablet shows that its connected to the router but I cannot access the router admin pages or the Internet. All settings on the DIR-615 are the same as the TP-Link one.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have been connected and have a strong signal, but I deleted some books, and when I tried to open it. It told me I would have to reconnect to the netgear. I have tried everything I know to but it will not accept my password.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have been using my ACER tablet with my Netgear router for several months with no problems at all. Then last night I decided to restore my tablet to its default settings, meaning that all my programs, apps, files, etc., were erased. Then I rebooted my tablet and started from scratch, entering the requested information. Everything appeared to be going just fine until I turned on Wi-Fi and attempted to connect to my network (Secured with WPA2), which was available and showed Good signal strength. I clicked on it, then attempted to enter my password. As soon as I entered the first digit of my password, the option to Connect to the Internet immediately disappeared, becoming greyed-out. Repeated attempts to connect failed for the same reason.
I called ACER Level 2 Support and tried a couple of procedures which didn't solve the problem. One was pushing the Reset Button twice. The technician told me that I may have a problem with my router settings. He suggested that I go to a local fast food outlet and see if I could connect there. I went to McDonald's and was able to get on the Net without using a password. I returned home and tried again to connect, but still was unable to enter my password.
Would it make sense for me to completely disconnect my router from everything, then reconnect and go through that set-up process all over again? I guess I would have to change my User Name & Password, or whatever is required. Also, if I go this route, should I change my security setting from WPA2 to a different option -- WEP, for example? I just don't want to foul things up to the point where my laptop wouldn't work. I doubt that would happen. I recently received the Ice Cream Sandwich upgrade which has been working satisfactorily; however, it does mean that I'm now attempting to start over from scratch with a different operating system.

View 7 Replies View RelatedI recently relocated to South East Asia. I have stayed in a guest house for two months and my PC and cell phone are connected wirelessly to an access point.
The IP address of the PC is: 192.168.1.10
The IP address of the cell phone is: 192.168.1.3
Port number: 5500
Software on Smart Phone (Android, Samsung Galaxy SII): RealVNC Software on PC: TightVNC
I have tested connecting smart phone-to-PC through VNC before while I was still in my home office in Scandinavia and it used to work.
(When I hover over the TightVNC icon on the PC it says 192.168.1.10, 192.168.71.1, 192.168.163.1 (no auth!). Not sure if that's relevant.
The cell phone just says "connecting..." but nothing happens. Have been trying to solve this on my own for too long. I have tried adjusting settings but no luck so far.
When my wife starting working from home she couldn't connect t her work laptop to our wireless router, so the tech person from her job did some kind of reconfiguration, so I just bought this new Acer tablet and now I can't connect it to the router....now I do have an old netgear router available.

View 4 Replies View RelatedAbout last week Thursday Night going into Friday my laptop tablet was able to connect to the internet.Once Friday morning came around, the thing stopped connecting to my wireless adapter.I looked up what to do and tried about as much as i could understand. For example, resetting my computer, restarting the modem by unplugging it then plugging it back in,retyping the password to connect to the wireless connection, switching the wifi button on my tablet off and on,checking to see if dhcp was enabled, and removing the network from the laptops memory & trying to reconnect anew.So far nothing has worked.

The tablet locates the secure network connection and I enter the password. Rather than connecting, a loop of the following messages display - "Obtaining IP address..." "Remembered secured with WEP." The first suggestion from support was to check that the firmware for the router is up-to-date.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have an Adroid 2.3.1 tablet, a WRT160N router, and an ActionTec M1000 DSL modem. I have many devices, both wired and wireless, connected and all work fine. These include xBox (Port Triggering in place) and 2 laptops via wireless and 3 machines wired. For some reason the Android tablet will not connect. It does connect to other WIFI spots including neighbors, cafes, etc. For this reason I believe the issue is with the router.I have tried all sorts of things including:
Change advanced wireless settings (Beacon Interval, Fragmentation Threshold, RTS Threshold)Tried B, G, B&G, B/G/NTried WEP, WPA, WPA2Tried Channel 1, 6, 11.Reset the router (via reset button, via Factory Defaults option, Reboot, power off 10 secs, back on)Updated router firmware to latestUpdated tablet firmware to latestTried enabling MAC Address filteringAt one time I saw messages in the DHCP log wherein it was trying to register and I noticed the MAC Address doesn't match what the tablet says it has. Now I can't even get that. It says "Connecting", a few seconds then "Disconnected".I am now forced to consider getting a new router. If I can't get this resolved, the new one will not be manufactured by Cisco.
I have a wrt54gs linsys router with speedbooster. I bought my son a tablet for xmas. I cannot connect the tablet to the network. It finds my network, searches for an IP address, and then disconnects. It will connect for about 2 seconds, and then shows disconnected. My PC's, and WII work fine, although getting the WII ad netflix to reconnect after a power outage is like rocket science requiring field support every time. My tablet wont stay connected, and the book tells me that the router must accept 802.11b/g, and that if it has 802.11n, then it needs to be reconfigured to accept 802.11b/g.
