Have a Samsung tablet supported by Verizon wireless. I need to connect to my home HP printer, but do not have broadband in the home, Can I connect the printer to a router and access via my tablet?
View 1 RepliesTrying to connect a Samsung clp-315w wirelessly to my E3000. I plug the Ethernet cable into both to configure the printer and I cannot access the printer via its IP address. I suspect the printer is reporting the wrong IP address or it the IP is not being assigned by the router or it is being blocked by the router. Routers firewall is off. I use the Samsung software and it does not see the printer either. It seems the router is not seeing the printer or allowing it access to the network. Spent much time with a good Samsung support person and tried everything and narrowed the problem down to the router connection. Is there a setting on the router which needs to be changed to allow me to see the printer to configure it for wireless access?

What do we have to do? None of the PC's are on a domain. The printer has no ethernet jack. Do we just have to buy a router? Can we print via the ip address of the printer. We are using Vista. We installed the CD. We tried to install via USB. They wanted some numbers. We tried via WPS but we couldn't since there is no router.
View 7 Replies View RelatedI have 2 Samsung NC10's here at home that I would like to be able to print using my new Epson PX720WD wireless printer.The printer is fine when sending doc's or images from my main PC, but I suspect I need to load the same software via the CD onto these laptops? Problem with that is they don't have CD drives. Am I thinking along the right lines here? If so, is it possible to drag the info onto a memory stick, insert into laptop and off I go?
View 3 Replies View RelatedI have a Samsung Galaxy 10.1 tablet and have bee trying to connect to my WRVS4400N router with VPN through the "on board" software as well as with the Any Connect software from Cisco. I have no issues at the moment using Quick VPN from my laptop.
When using the Any Connect software I receive the following messages:
Security warning: untrusted certificate
AnyConnect cannot verify the identity of <IP address>. Would you like to continue anyway?
- Certificate does not match the server name.
- Certificate is from an untrusted source.
- Certificate is not identified for this purpose
[Accept] [Details] [Cancel]
If I select accept, the following error is received:
"Error: Connection attempt has failed due to server communication errors. Please retry the connection".
I have tried setting up the on board VPN with the Samsug Galaxy but every attempt has resulted in a time-out of the connection.
Just purchased an E900 wireless router and cannot figure out how to connect my Samsung wireless printer. The printer has a WPS button, but the router does not. The router wants me to input information into the Samsung printer, but the printer has no screen, and I cannot find a place to input the router info anywhere in the Samsung software. I am going crazy here...I'm not a techie, but I'm also not a complete technology idiot.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI just purchased a Toshiba Thrive tablet and I can't get it to connect to my wireless router. My router (WRVS4400N) works flawlessly with my laptop and desktop. I have spoken to a Cisco tech rep and they assured me that there is not a compatibility problem with the WPA-Personal setting I am using. When I speak to a Toshiba tech they tell me I have a router conflict. To verify this I went to my local Starbucks and low and behold it logged right on with no problem (The Starbucks system was not a protected system). This confirms to me that there is a conflict between the router and the tablet.

It finds my network, searches for an IP address, and then disconnects. It will connect for about 2 seconds, and then shows disconnected. My PC's, and WII work fine, although getting the WII ad netflix to reconnect after a power outage is like rocket science requiring field support every time. My tablet wont stay connected, and the book tells me that the router must accept 802.11b/g, and that if it has 802.11n, then it needs to be reconfigured to accept 802.11b/g.
View 2 Replies View RelatedSo I was having problems staying connected to the wifi on my samsung galaxy mini. Many fixes for other models in the galaxy series, limited fixes for the 'mini' version. Long story short, I was told to edit the DHCP lease time in my router settings.There I bumped into another problem.No mather what I tried there was no way of accessing the page. Weird thing is I remember having logged in on it before.Usually you just have to give in the standard gateway which should be 192.168.0.1 in my case. I checked it using ipconfig in cmd and my presumption was confirmed.Then I tried resetting the router to set back any settings that might've accidently been changed, in the hope that it would also reset the standard gateway and no succes.Now my knowledge about networking is verry limited.

Obviously I went through the procedures - Network settings, found my WiFi, typed in my Network password & unfortunately states: 'Unable to connect to the Wireless Router'. I'm able to connect with no problems (thru wifi or regular connection) on my pc. I went to my Belkin router page and have looked at my MAC settings (only option it gives is to clone, which I tried), I've also tried changing the password....my phone also gave me the option of hitting the WPS button on my router within 2 minutes, which I did, but it would not configure automatically as it was supposed to.

He wants to connect to the Dlink DIR-615's wifi to cut down on the data usage while at home on his 500mb per month data plan the ssid and the password are fine, but it hangs on the message "obtaining IP address..." which then after a while refuses to continue to connect and labels the connection "disabled"... the connection type is WPA2 AES something or other so as to guarantee wireless N connections for the xbox and my pc (the ps3 doesn't really do everything, it only does G not N lol)...
I am not familiar with the phone as it's not mine (someday maybe...) so maybe there is a setting i missed. I do know the router is not mac address restricted (meaning only certain computers are allowed to connect).
So now I have a good connection with my secondary router going to my acer a500 android tablet, my laptop, and panasonic viera tv. All is good thus far. However, I cannot connect my Samsun BD-C7900 Blu Ray. What is really wierd is that the 5 Ghz and 2.4 Ghz have two different names on my router (cause that is what the cisco support tech told me to do- give them separate names) but on the Samsung BD-C7900 - it shows that there are two signals coming in but with the same name! When i tried to connect i get an error message. Keep in mind my E4200 v2 is secondary router connected to fios actiontec.

2. When I entered IP, Gateway, DNS manualy in my TV it connects to router but not to internet.

The IP address of the PC is: 192.168.1.10
The IP address of the cell phone is: 192.168.1.3
Port number: 5500
Software on Smart Phone (Android, Samsung Galaxy SII): RealVNC Software on PC: TightVNC
I have tested connecting smart phone-to-PC through VNC before while I was still in my home office in Scandinavia and it used to work.
(When I hover over the TightVNC icon on the PC it says 192.168.1.10, 192.168.71.1, 192.168.163.1 (no auth!). Not sure if that's relevant.
The cell phone just says "connecting..." but nothing happens. Have been trying to solve this on my own for too long. I have tried adjusting settings but no luck so far.
I just got a maylong 4.0 android tablet. The instuctions are vague on how to set up an internet connection.
