I purchased an Samsung UE46ES6300 Smart TV for my Boyfried for Christmas & we are struggling to connect it to our WiFi to use the features. Obviously I went through the procedures - Network settings, found my WiFi, typed in my Network password & unfortunately states: 'Unable to connect to the Wireless Router'. Taking into account my Virgin Media Router is directly next to my TV? The Wireless & Internet is 100% working as we have other devices running of it - I-pad, Laptop, Phones etc!
I have been trying to connect my smart tv to my wireless network for the last 3 weeks. It connects intermittently but the connection is always lost within a few minutes to a couple hours. I have turned off all of the firewalls, and all other devices connect fine. It is an ea4500 running on updated firmware and a Samsung 6900 smart tv. The connection works if I run an ehternet cable to it oith from the modem as well as from the router, but it does not work over the wireless connection.
I have been trying to enable the Smart WiFi account for my EA6500 router. I have gone online and established a Smart WiFi account but am unable to associate my EA6500 with the account. I downloaded the tool off the Linksys support site but received the following error message:Error code: 0x82BF010CError description: The connected gateway is not a router.Model name: EA6500Model description: unknownSerial number: unknownFirmware version: unknownOperating system: Windows 7 (64-bit) SP 1Software version: 2.0.12332.0Connection type (WAN): unknownIP address (LAN): 192.168.1.254IP address (WAN): unknownComputer IP address: 192.168.1.67? I have DHCP disabled on the EA6500.
I am new to the forum and Linksys products. i have always been a Netgear fan. What brings me to Linksys is the Smart WIFI parental controls. My children have iPod touch and Kindle Fire. I want to "manage" the content (Youtube, internet, etc..) on these devices. I want to be able to control when they have access to the WIFI and when they don't. Another words, I want to go the router web interface and find the device and turn OFF the connection without affecting the rest of the house.
I was looking at EA6500 router as a pontential new router. Would this router give me the control I need?
Do I need to portforward a port for logging into my Linksys EA6500 smart wifi router from outside home? I can only login when I'm om LAN or wifi..Another question: Can I only login to the same router using an app? Isn't there a way to login via browser?
have a problem with my EA6500 router. I can't connect to the internet, the connexion works fine. But, everytime i go on the smart wifi login page, i enter my login and password and then i'm asked to download the software for my EA6500 and to associate it with my account. The problem is that i just can't update it manually because i couldn't ever go on the tools page. Never. So i'm here with a great router but i can't configure it. I asked the support service several times but they always asked me to reset the router. Nothing changes.I 'm still unable to process after the login page, i have created a account successfully, i can login but everytime i just get stucked at " Associate your router with your account" page. My only options there is to click on OKAY or a link to download the firmware on Linksys support. I get the firmware but i can't install it because i can't go in the administrative page.
The smart wi-fi app Device List indicates Local Network = 0 (that's incorrect) and Guest Network = 0 (that's correct). When i click Connected Devices for My Network, i see a list of devices but everything indicates 'Offline' and that of course is incorrect. How can i upgrade this software? I recently installed EA6500 and due to being slow, it was recommended to set back to factory default. That process did no go well, so i hope it is not necessary again. This router is not any better then the wrt320N so i am disappointed.
I have an Apple time capsule and Samsung Smart TV. I set up the wireless connection, checked the status on the TV, connected. When I try to open something in the Smart TV, it says I'm not connected.
I am trying to connect my Samsung TV to the internet and keep getting a message that says NEtwork setup complete, but cannot connect to the internet. I am wondering, I have 2 network connections, a secure one and unsecure. I don't have the information/password for the secure connection anymore, so I am trying to set my TV up with the unsecure network.
I'm having trying to connect my Samsung Smart TV to the Internet.I purchased the Samsung EH5300 yesterday and have connected it to my router (ZyXEL P-660HW-T1) via Ethernet. This works fine and picks up all the settings (ie: IP address, gateway etc) automatically and I can connect to the Internet fine. The problem comes when I then connect any device to the router using Wi-Fi - this could be my iPad, iPhone, PC, laptop - anything will disconnect the wired TV connection immediately from the Internet but it DOES NOT disconnect it from the network. In other words, I can still see the TV in the list of devices on my router and still ping the IP from my PC. All the settings on the TV remain the same but when running the network test, it says it is connected to the network but not the Internet.I have disconnected all cables, reset the router, turned everything off and on several times, placed the Ethernet cable in different ports on the router, manually input all the IP addresses etc but none of it is working.
To connect my new "smart tv" with my wireless linsys WRT610N, smart tv ask to take off all protection such as firewall and antivirus. Doing so, I cannot connect my laptop with my router. Is there a solution to connect both at the same time?
I recently purchased a smart phone that can use my wireless access to get to the internet, however the phone cannot connect. I have verified that I am using the correct password and it is finding the network just fine, it just can't connect. I have had this problem with my laptops as well, but with them I just copied the key to a USB key and used that to get them going. I don't have that ability with the smart phone.
how to best troubleshoot this issue and resolve it? I have also reset the router to allow anonymous internet access with no positive result there either.
I connected my router to a new computer. The computer is connected to the Internet. My SmartPhone won't connect via the router.
I logged in to the router from my cell and entered the password. The cell says the following over and over without connecting: ScanningObtaining IP address from routerDisconnectedConnectingScanning ... over & overHow can I connect my Samsung GAlaxy SII Skyrocket to my WiFi router [WRT54GS]?
So now I have a good connection with my secondary router going to my acer a500 android tablet, my laptop, and panasonic viera tv. All is good thus far. However, I cannot connect my Samsun BD-C7900 Blu Ray. What is really wierd is that the 5 Ghz and 2.4 Ghz have two different names on my router (cause that is what the cisco support tech told me to do- give them separate names) but on the Samsung BD-C7900 - it shows that there are two signals coming in but with the same name! When i tried to connect i get an error message. Keep in mind my E4200 v2 is secondary router connected to fios actiontec.
When I try to connect the galaxy to the wireless network, the tablet shuts down (to the start page, unlock page) when it is searching for the ip address for the network. The firmware is 1.55.02. Cannot get upgrade as not available from Cisco. Have disconnected all other devices from the network in case there is some interference problem.
I'm trying to network my Windows 8 media player and a samsung Smart TV... My computer is running a USB adapter for wireless, and I have just plugged in a Wireless extender. The TV doesn't last long before it losses the connection to the computer.
i have recently purchased samsung smart tv 8 series, but when i try connecting it to internet by lan/ wan it says connected to router but not able to connect to internet contact your isp. though sometimes it connects and then goes to the previous status in short time. i am using leoxsys 54 g-dl 54madsl2+router and i have bsnl ul750 plan.both samsung and bsnl tell its not problem on their side. i am able to access internet on other devices through the same.
Trying to connect a Samsung clp-315w wirelessly to my E3000. I plug the Ethernet cable into both to configure the printer and I cannot access the printer via its IP address. I suspect the printer is reporting the wrong IP address or it the IP is not being assigned by the router or it is being blocked by the router. Routers firewall is off. I use the Samsung software and it does not see the printer either. It seems the router is not seeing the printer or allowing it access to the network. Spent much time with a good Samsung support person and tried everything and narrowed the problem down to the router connection. Is there a setting on the router which needs to be changed to allow me to see the printer to configure it for wireless access?
I'm currently living in an apartment on my school's campus and I'm using their network for all my internet needs and such. One of my roommates recently bought a new Samsung Smart TV Model:PN59D8000F.The wireless here sucks so we've been hooking the ethernet up to the tv for internet access. It was working fine at first, but then all options on the tv requiring a network shut down. Now, when we first arrive at school our laptops are put into a remediation mode to make sure we have virus protection and all that good stuff, and I believe that might be what is happening with the tv's internet access. Not exactly sure,
TL;DR Tv is capable for internet access but network wont let it connect
I am interested in running the EA6500 without all the Cloud Connect software etc. Is this possible? Is there a basic way to set this up without that requirement?
I just bought the EA6500 last week. Had to RMA it on Monday and got the new one today. The issue still persists. The power light is constantly blinking and my computer is unable to obtain an IP address from it. I contacted tech support and was unable to get the issue resolved so I had it exchanged believing it was defective. The new one does the same thing. When I connect my computer to it, the light on my Ethernet port stays a solid orange instead of green like it does for my usual router. The Cisco light is constantly blinking.
I have it set up as Capri (2.4 GHz) and CapriHD (5 GHz). CapriHD was intended only for HD video traffic. My wife's iphone 4S can only use 2.4 GHz, and it suddenly quit connecting after 1-2 months of use. My iphone 5 can use either band and it can only connect on 5 GHz. This problem MIGHT correspond to the recent firmware upgrade? I was traveling a lot around that time so can't be sure that is a culprit.Really thought the problem was the hardware, so I replaced it with a new EA6500 and getting the same result.
Got my new EA6500 on Friday. I can't connect to the internet with it.To start with, I have a cable modem that is connected directly to my desktop to verify I have a good internet connection. I do (can browse the web). Then, I disconnected the cable from my desktop and plugged it into the "internet" port on the EA6500. With a new cable, connected one end to the desktop and the other end to Port 1 on the router. Now I no longer have an internet connection.Went throught varioius sequences of rebooting the computer / router / cable modem with no change.
Then disconnected the cable that was pugged into "internet" on the router and plugged it back into the desktop -- internet service restored. So, I have a good connection to the web.
When I had the router in the config, I was able to go to IP 192.168.1.1 and see the routers setup screens, so the connection between the computer and the router was good.I also was able to try the wireless on the router by connecting my iPhone. Iphone connected to the router (joined the network), but couldn't get to the internet.
It's as if the internet connection withing the router is broken.I even did a reset of the router which didn't work. Using this new router via hard wires should work out of the box with no setup necessary.
I did also try running the install software to see if it made a difference. Setup detected no internet, but I selected to continue on without the internet connection. Software guided me to setting up my wireless network (choose SSID, etc) and that completed. Was able to connect with my iPhone to the newley found SSID, but still no internet.
every-time i try to play a file directly from my computer through the network to my Samsung tv downstairs regardless of the file format it says file format no supported though when i plug the same file in with the usb directly through the back of the TV it plays the without a hitch
I just bought an ea6500 to replace my old Billion router and up to now all I've had to do is plug my phone line directly into the "phone line in" port on the back of the billion router. But I see there is no "phone line in" port on the ea6500, I don't use a modem and have used the billion router by itself for the past 6 years, is there a way to connect my phone line directly to the ea6500 somehow? My research so far indicates you can't do it via an 'Ethernet / phone line adaptor' as they are incompatable anyway.
The install guide seems to expect a Modem is being used but in my case it hasn't been and I would think a router should perform the basic functions of a modem anyway ?
My concern is that if I really need to purchase a modem then won't this potentially 'throttle' the capabilities of the ea6500 which is the reason I've bought it in the first place ?
If I do need to purchase a modem to get my ea6500 working then what specs should I be looking for ??
This issue seems to happen about once every week or so. I get the router settings all configured and I'm able to access it from Cloud Connect and from the APP on my smartphone. After about a week, it's no longer accessible from cloudconnect, I can access it from my smartphone, but it shows that there are no devices connected (when they are actually connected). The screen for cloudconnect will come up after I sign in, but it just has the circling dots in the center of the screen saying "waiting" and it will do this until I close out explorer. The only way I've found to resolve this is to reset the router and set everything from scratch.
To preface this message I need to state that I am functionally illiterate when it comes to any kind of networking. I just replaced an old Linksys wireless-G router with a new Linksys EA6500 router. My needs are as follows: I am connecting 4 desktop computers (two personal and two business) via Ethernet cables. In addition there will be three smart phones, two DVD players and one game console connected wirelessly. In the future I will add a printer, hard drive and more wireless devices. After installing the hardware and running the setup disk all four computers wired with Ethernet cables worked fine (although they are not set up to communicate or share files with one another - they only need to access the internet. My problem is with the wireless connectivity. I cannot get any one of the wireless devices to work.
Since I have installed my new router, a Linksys EA6500, I have many problems to connect to my Exchange Server, which is located in my house, via Wifi. I tried to synchronize my Iphone and my Samsung tablet but it won't work. Most of the times I get the message that the Exchange server cannot be connected. When I turn off my Wifi en connect via my mobile provider I have no problems. When I am on a third party wifi I also can connect my server. Seems my own wifi causes lots of problems.
Just got an EA6500 - updated to the latest available firmware.I've attached 2 x WD NAS and 1 x WD via USB to the unit.Everytime AFTER I finished running Time Machine on the MacBookPro (writing to one of the WD NAS), I can no longer login to the router neither from the local IP address nor the cisco cloud connect. The error message that I get (loosely phrased) is: can't connect to Router. Please ensure the router is connected to the internet.
How do I connect to the EA6500 once it's in Bridge mode acting as a wireless access point? Checked the posts and some seem to be able to do this but, we cannot.
