I'm trying to network my Windows 8 media player and a samsung Smart TV... My computer is running a USB adapter for wireless, and I have just plugged in a Wireless extender. The TV doesn't last long before it losses the connection to the computer.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI'm currently living in an apartment on my school's campus and I'm using their network for all my internet needs and such.One of my roommates recently bought a new Samsung Smart TV Model:PN59D8000F.The wireless here sucks so we've been hooking the ethernet up to the tv for internet access.It was working fine at first, but then all options on the tv requiring a network shut down. Now, when we first arrive at school our laptops are put into a remediation mode to make sure we have virus protection and all that good stuff, and I believe that might be what is happening with the tv's internet access.Not exactly sure,

Obviously I went through the procedures - Network settings, found my WiFi, typed in my Network password & unfortunately states: 'Unable to connect to the Wireless Router'. Taking into account my Virgin Media Router is directly next to my TV? The Wireless & Internet is 100% working as we have other devices running of it - I-pad, Laptop, Phones etc!
View 9 Replies View RelatedI'm having trying to connect my Samsung Smart TV to the Internet.I purchased the Samsung EH5300 yesterday and have connected it to my router (ZyXEL P-660HW-T1) via Ethernet. This works fine and picks up all the settings (ie: IP address, gateway etc) automatically and I can connect to the Internet fine.The problem comes when I then connect any device to the router using Wi-Fi - this could be my iPad, iPhone, PC, laptop - anything will disconnect the wired TV connection immediately from the Internet but it DOES NOT disconnect it from the network. In other words, I can still see the TV in the list of devices on my router and still ping the IP from my PC. All the settings on the TV remain the same but when running the network test, it says it is connected to the network but not the Internet.I have disconnected all cables, reset the router, turned everything off and on several times, placed the Ethernet cable in different ports on the router, manually input all the IP addresses etc but none of it is working.

1. TV can't get IP address
2. When I entered IP, Gateway, DNS manualy in my TV it connects to router but not to internet.
3. When I switch cable to my laptop it registered and get dynamic IP without any problem.
4. I've insert WIFI adapter into TV and it connected and got dynamic IP without any problem.
I have been trying to connect my smart tv to my wireless network for the last 3 weeks. It connects intermittently but the connection is always lost within a few minutes to a couple hours. I have turned off all of the firewalls, and all other devices connect fine. It is an ea4500 running on updated firmware and a Samsung 6900 smart tv. The connection works if I run an ehternet cable to it oith from the modem as well as from the router, but it does not work over the wireless connection.

I have a little small network created with 6 computers. 5 of them are windows xp home and pro. jsut bought a new laptop with windows 7 64 bit home pre. All the xp laptops can share files easily but the windows 7 is giving me a really hard time.

I have a win7 system next to a smart TV. The win7 is connected to my network through wireless. A second port on the win7 is free.
I'd like to connect the smart TV using network cable to the free port, and set up a bridge so that it connects to the home network.
I tried using ICS. It workes only somewhat - I was able to get an IP address on the 192.168.137.x subnet, but the TV failed to connect to the gateway.
I am trying to use bridging to do the same. I configured the free port and the TV manually, to a 10.10.1.x network, and then I bridged the wireless and wired ports on the pc, (I modified the metric of the wireless to be lower than the wired port). This does not work either.
I need setting up File/Folder/Printer sharing in small office LAN and also secure Files (password protect) among users. I have attached two JPG files in which i have tried my best to show the network diagram and how i want to share the files and folders. All the PCs are connected and i have made one Windows 7 Ultimate PC acting as File Server keeping its D Drive in sharing with other five Windows 7 Ultimate PCs acting as clients. I just want to know how to protect Files as per my requirement. There are no fixed PC of any dept users. All the users or Dept Head use any PCs as per availability.

Not wanting to buy an expensive Samsung wireless adapter for the TV, I've decided to use an ethernet cable. Because the Internet cable passes through underground to the bedroom and the TV is located in the living room, i decided to put a router in the bedroom, and receive it's signal in the living room using a windows 7 laptop.Afterwards I connected the laptop to the TV through an ethernet cable, and bridged the two connections in Network Connections in Control Panel on the laptop. The TV successfully finds the laptop (and the router I think) but still cannot connect to the internet.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI purchased this Router about 2 weeks ago as a phased upgrade of our Home Network, primarily to enhance media streaming. It has the latest firmware preinstalled from the factory. Prior to the purchase and installation of the EA4500 Router I replaced my old Motorola SurfBoard SB6120 DOCSIS 3.0 Cable Modem with a Motorola SurfBoard SB6141 DOCSIS 3.0 Cable Modem. My old Linksys E2000 Router worked perfectly with the SB6141, with the exception that the E2000 wasn’t IPv6 enabled, but does have 10/100/1000Base-T Ethernet (RJ-45) and Internet ports.
The EA4500 has been installed for about 10 days and seems to have improved local network speeds and I don’t seem to be having any Internet connectivity issues. However, there are some disturbing issues with the EA4500 and the AE3000 I purchased. There are 11 devices connected through the Router; a Dell Desktop (wireless with the AE3000), a Dell Desktop (Ethernet), a Dell Laptop (wireless), 2 Canon Printers (1 Ethernet and 1 Wireless), 2 Western Digital 1TB MyBookLive Network Drives (both Ethernet), a WD TV Live Streaming Media Player (wireless), an Apple TV media player (wireless), an iPad (wireless), and an Android Smartphone (wireless).
Issue 1 – The Linksys Smart Wi-Fi interface appears to be unreliable at times!!! I’ve read about this problem here on the Community involving the EA6500, so I don’t know if this is a Linksys Server issue, as suggested in a few responses, or a bug in the Router firmware, or defective hardware. However, when the interface locks up, it can’t be accessed from a wireless or wired connection. Usually, powering down the Router and then powering it back up and restart will allow it to function again. However, at times before the interface completely locks up it shows either just a white screen or the security screen will show no firewall features enabled. This is a little scary, so I’ll do a complete reset and setup; this is becoming a pain in the rear! Is there any hope for this being fixed, in this Router, not the next generation?
Issue 2 - All of my network devices show up in the Router’s Device List. Except for the Apple devices they also show up, when they are online, in Windows 7 Explorer under Network and when you click on Network they are correctly displayed as Computers, Media Devices, Network Infrastructure, or Storage. However, when you click on “Open Network and Sharing Center” and then click on “See Full Map”; it fails with the response “Windows cannot create the network map. Responses from other devices on the network are delayed or there is an incompatible router on the network”; no device map is shown. When I follow the link for more information, the only thing that stands out is “A device on the network, such as a hub or switch, is not working properly or is not compatible with the Link Layer Topology Discovery (LLTD) protocol, which Windows uses to create the map. To fix this problem, disable the device, turn it off, or remove it from your network”. All of my network devices showed up on the Network Map with the old E2000. This issue is the same on all of my computers, either wired or wireless.
I’m having with the EA4500 and the AE3000; they are both probably going back to Amazon.
Ok, I have a new win 7 pc and my old win xp pc has all my video and picture files. On both of my xp pc's i can transfer files via my network places. Can I and if so how do I do that from the xp pc to the win 7 pc? I can stream the videos from the xp on the win 7 but not transfer them.
View 17 Replies View RelatedI recently upgraded my Wi-Fi router to an EA3500 and am controlling it using Smart Wi-Fi running on a wired Windows 7 machine.So far, I have been able to add devices to the network without issue and each of those connections works fine. All, except my TV, have been Windows 7 based machines. Smart Wi-Fi Device List has been able to "see" each device and I have been able to add them to that list as well.
I am attempting to add a Windows 8 desktop computer to the network which is using a external USB wireless adapter. That computer can see and connect to the network through the EA3500 and the connection seems to work fine. The only issue is that its adapter does not show up in the Device List.
1) Does the Device List do anything else besides showing a list of devices I chosen to add to my network?
2) How do I get my Windows 8 wireless adapter to show up in the Device List?
I have a samsung 365E5C-S02 Laptop running Windows 8. The internet worked just fine until yesterday when it stopped working. Now I can connect to the wireless network just fine but no internet. Several other computers work on the same wireless network. I ran the troubleshooting sequence at "control panel-> troubleshooting -> network and internet " but it didn't find anything.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a win xp laptop which connects via wireless to a cheap belkin router I have a Win 7 pro laptop which is hardwired to the router. The Win 7 machine is NOT set up for home groups. We are all on the same workgroup.
I have added the user name from the XP machine to the Win 7 pro machine with admin rights. I shared a folder on Win 7 and added the user name and gave read/write rights. I have no software firewall.
When I try to connect via win explorer via the workgroup I see the Win 7 machine (after 10 seconds). I see 'User' folder which I can browse and I see the folder that I shared but I can't access it. Access denied...
I was wondering what settings need to be set, and what needs to be done on both computes, i have Printer sharing up and running with no problems but i can't seem to get my mac to be detected on my main Windows 7 PC. I am able to connect to my Windows 7 PC but can't seem to get my mac to show up. Also i have connected it to the Windows 7 workgroup and still nothing.

View 9 Replies View RelatedI have a small office network of 6 computers. I have just added the 6th computer running windows 7 home premium to the network and having a few problems. We are running sage accounts system and i cant connect to the main computer that is acting as the hub which runs of windows xp to acces the sage data.The main computer is visible on the network along with all other computers on the network but i cannot connect to it. when i click on it a box appears titles 'windows security' it asks me to 'enter network password' and says below 'enter your network password to connect to cornwall-31aae0' which is the name for the hub pc.
I type in the username and password for that computer and press ok and nothing happens the box flashes and remains the same as if stuck in a continual loop. i have tried various combinations of usernames and passwords including using the computer name as a username and none work.i have played around with the settings changing workgroups and network names etc to match the hub pc and none work either. i have disabled and enabled password protected sharing etc and none of this works either. i seem to have tried everything and also tried matching the settings so that it is the same to another pc on the network running windows 7 also but still makes no difference.
When i trying sharing folder in LAN ... using different windows OS .. win Xp and Win 7 ... sharing done but giving me the option as |Enter user name and Password | i done that but this option appeared again when hit enter... (user name and password given were correct). (Sharing folder/s IN LAN as what meant by Poweruser and it is must the others would be members of poweruser for sharing purpose?)

He's created a homegroup and he's turned his file sharing on but he can't see my computer and I can't see his. He also can't share his public folder, it says "folder can not be shared." View 1 Replies View RelatedI recently moved my computer from my home to my girl friend's house, and there is a minor problem. The laptop that has win7 already is in a homegroup. For some reason my computer(win7) does not want to connect to their homegroup. But I moved past that. Now I am trying to connect to her computer. She has Win xp. I used the same Ethernet cord from my house that I used to share internet over at her house, and I cannot seem to find out what is wrong. On the win7 it says Unidentified network-No Internet Access, and on the XP it says limited or no connectivity. I set the XP ICS to on (share) for the Ethernet port. The XP has the internet and is using a USB wireless adapter to a router. My computer is way to far from the router and neither can be moved.
Notes: I can share files, but no internet can be passed. XP = Host and Win 7 = Client
