I've got 3 computers (2 desk 1 lap) all running Windows 7. I have 2 network printers. The printers are wired to one of the desktops and the other 2 computers connect via network. The printers work fine once I add them to each computer, but once I restart, the printers appear offline on the other 2 computers even though they work fine on the desktop to which they are wired.I've had this setup for a while and only recently this started happening. It looks like Win7 is messing with the IPs of the printers. I'm not an expert on how to find the IP addresses of the printers though and set them to static (if this indeed is the problem)

I have 2 XP machines, both connected to a network switch which connects them to a print server attached to a printer. The last print server recently died and has been replaced, but the problem remains. I've downloaded the driver from the printer manufacturers website and installed on both XP machines, one functions fine but after each reboot the printer is grayed out on the other. Removing it and adding again fixes this until the next reboot.I am aware of some networking issues at this site which result in a few dropped packets between sites but shouldn't be an issue here since they are all attached to the same switch.

Just upgrade from an old DIR-524 (or something like that) to a DIR-655. Set up was easy all is working good with the computers. |However, I plugged my HP Photosmart C5100 printer into the router (first slot). The computer seems to know it is there, and the printer seems to recognize the router, but it will not printer. Microsoft diagnostics says that the printer is not ON, and the printer is listed on Devices as Offline. The printer is about 5 years old, but it is a trooper and I don't want to to get rid of it.Â

We have an HP DeskJet 3050 wireless printer connected by WiFi to two laptops. One laptop, a Dell 700m, runs XP Pro with all updates applied. The other laptop, a Dell XPS 15, runs Windows 7 64-bit, again with all updates applied. The printer works completely reliably from the XP machine. From the XPS 15, the printer works reliably for a day or so, then the icon in Devices & Printers is grayed, indicating the printer is offline. Even in this condition, I can access the printer's built-in web server using Firefox on the XPS 15 and the connection appears to be fine. The printer's IP address has not changed. But the printer is still reported as offline for printing by Windows.
The workaround is to delete the device and reinstall it using Add Printer and Have Disk, but using the already installed drivers rather than re-installing. After doing that, the printer then works for a few days before again going offline. This problem is extremely irritating. I've done Google searches on this problem. Although I've found a variety of similar reports for various brands of wireless printers on Vista or Windows 7, I've not seen a solution. My latest attempt is to share the printer on the Dell 700m and print to the shared printer from the XPS 15. We'll see if that continues to work for a few days (I suspect it will). But this isn't really a solution and not always convenient.

I've got a Linksys E2000 router and a Brother MFC-7840W wireless printer and they don't seem to want to play nice together. The set-up process was fine and I can usually print wireless without a problem, but every so often I'll try to print and my computer will say that the printer is offline. Other computers on my network also show it as offline. The printer confirms it has an IP address, but even after power cycling it won't be picked up by my machines. I've even tried a full reset of the printer and re-configured it, at which point it is able to successfully obtain an IP address, but it still shows as offline on my PCs.Â
Â
The only solution I have found is to powercycle the router. This always works. Now that's not a terribly inconvenient workaround most of the time, so I've been doing that for a few months now. It obviously implicates the router as the point of failure, but wireless internet access is not affected when the printer appears to be offline, so obviously some packets are getting through normally.Â

My friend just started his business. There are 5 people working here including both of us. He bought a Samsung 2165W. He wants all of us to use this printer. What do we have to do? None of the PC's are on a domain. The printer has no ethernet jack. Do we just have to buy a router? Can we print via the ip address of the printer. We are using Vista. We installed the CD. We tried to install via USB. They wanted some numbers. We tried via WPS but we couldn't since there is no router.

I have 2 Samsung NC10's here at home that I would like to be able to print using my new Epson PX720WD wireless printer. The printer is fine when sending doc's or images from my main PC, but I suspect I need to load the same software via the CD onto these laptops? Problem with that is they don't have CD drives. Am I thinking along the right lines here? If so, is it possible to drag the info onto a memory stick, insert into laptop and off I go?

Just purchased an E900 wireless router and cannot figure out how to connect my Samsung wireless printer. Â The printer has a WPS button, but the router does not. Â The router wants me to input information into the Samsung printer, but the printer has no screen, and I cannot find a place to input the router info anywhere in the Samsung software. Â I am going crazy here...I'm not a techie, but I'm also not a complete technology idiot.

Trying to connect a Samsung clp-315w wirelessly to my E3000. I plug the Ethernet cable into both to configure the printer and I cannot access the printer via its IP address. I suspect the printer is reporting the wrong IP address or it the IP is not being assigned by the router or it is being blocked by the router. Routers firewall is off. I use the Samsung software and it does not see the printer either. It seems the router is not seeing the printer or allowing it access to the network. Spent much time with a good Samsung support person and tried everything and narrowed the problem down to the router connection. Is there a setting on the router which needs to be changed to allow me to see the printer to configure it for wireless access?

I have had this card fall over in the following way 3 times in the past 3 weeks (??? to protect the innocent) :
Â
Feb 3 17:27:31.209 ACDT: %MBUS-6-SWITCHED_FABCLK: Slot 4 primary clock switched to clock 0
Feb 3 17:27:33.360 ACDT: %LDP-5-NBRCHG: LDP Neighbor ???.???.???.??:0 (1) is DOWN (Received error notification from peer: Holddown time expired)
[Code].....Â
Â
After the initial failure and card reseat it has lasted almost 3 weeks, reseated it again today and it fell over again within a minute. Reseated again and it is stil up and passing traffic after an hour.
Â
Trying to power cycle the card from the chassis fails, a remove/insert is required to get the card running.
Â
Is this a memory failure on the SIP (CEF failure??) or some other odd fault with the SIP, that makes it require a card remove/reinsert?

how its possible that even when I turn off wifi on the laptop and even disconnect the modem that when I type netstat into CMD that there is still one or two TCP ESTABLISHED connections? I have waited as long as an hour and there are still established connections even though I am not connected to my internet. if I shut down the computer and reload it again with the router unplugged there will be either no connections or maybe one TIME WAIT connection for one or two IPs. but as soon as I reconnect to the internet then disconnect, the same thing happens where there are established connections to the laptop even though I am not connected to the internet.I use ccleaner to remove all cookies between sessions.

the camera is about 30 feet from the router. Is it too far for the camera to be detected? After I mounted the camera at the front door, after connecting the camera to the electric power, I saw clearly the picture. But after I finished mounting, I could not see the picture anymore. On the computer, it was stated that the camera was offline.

I have 3 DCS cameras on my network all setup WiFi
2 are DCS-932L and 1 DCS-942L
The DCS942 (which is right near but facing the other direction) is about 2 meters away from one of the 932's but the 942 keeps going offline - it comes back on and off probably 4-5 time during a 24hr period.
This is most frustrating - it would look like Wifi signal strength could be the issue but the other 932 right near it doesn't have this issue?

My network layout is in the attatched photo, all hard wired to their destination. The wireless routers in the picture have been replaced with Netgear WG602 WAP's in an attempt to fix this problem. Ive aquired a smart phone (android) and decided to setup two WAP's on my property for mine or my guests' usage. When I connect to the WAP on the android my Linksys Router gets knocked offline and I have to unplug it to get everything on the network to connect to the internet.

Since transferring from a Belkin Wireless Router to the new Virgin Superhub, i am unable to connect to the internet by wireless. Right now i am connected to the ethernet cable attached directly to the hub and it works fine. Also, i have a USB adaptor (which i've just broken ) which also allows me to connect to the internet and works. But i just CAN NOT connect to the internet at all by wireless. For specific example, when i try to connect to Windows Live it tells me that my "Default Gateway" is offline.

Have a Belkin F6D4230-4 Version 3, both times we have stayed here we have noticed the same issue, we can connect to the router, but after a while it throws everything offline, and then you will see the orange light on the front of the router flashing. I usually have to reboot the router to get it to come back online. I did check the firmware version and it is the latest version 3.0 something, but it did say it was the latest?
