Mar 26, 2013I have a Cisco WRT120N Router and a Cisco Valet AM10 wireless adapter. Almost every time the computer reboots, I loose my network and I have to redo the AM10 setup. The AM10 is the only device that loses the connection, my lap top and printer do not lose the connection.
Problem 2: Everytime I upplug and replug the AM10 a window pops up saying I need to check the drive for errors but none
are found.
Problem 3: I downloaded the AM10 install program, Downloadable.Setup.AM10.1.2.10148.2. It does not work. If I try to run it Iget an error message that the setup canot be completed and to call in for support.
Problem 4: When I can get it working is shows that it is Wireless Connection 5. Why 5 and not 1? Where are the other 4?

Linksys Wireless Router :: E2000 Internet Access Is Not Affected When Printer Appears To Be Offline
Jun 10, 2011I've got a Linksys E2000 router and a Brother MFC-7840W wireless printer and they don't seem to want to play nice together. The set-up process was fine and I can usually print wireless without a problem, but every so often I'll try to print and my computer will say that the printer is offline. Other computers on my network also show it as offline. The printer confirms it has an IP address, but even after power cycling it won't be picked up by my machines. I've even tried a full reset of the printer and re-configured it, at which point it is able to successfully obtain an IP address, but it still shows as offline on my PCs.
The only solution I have found is to powercycle the router. This always works. Now that's not a terribly inconvenient workaround most of the time, so I've been doing that for a few months now. It obviously implicates the router as the point of failure, but wireless internet access is not affected when the printer appears to be offline, so obviously some packets are getting through normally.
Printer Offline After Reboot?
Jul 11, 2011I've got 3 computers (2 desk 1 lap) all running Windows 7. I have 2 network printers. The printers are wired to one of the desktops and the other 2 computers connect via network. The printers work fine once I add them to each computer, but once I restart, the printers appear offline on the other 2 computers even though they work fine on the desktop to which they are wired.I've had this setup for a while and only recently this started happening. It looks like Win7 is messing with the IPs of the printers. I'm not an expert on how to find the IP addresses of the printers though and set them to static (if this indeed is the problem)

Nov 23, 2012I have 2 XP machines, both connected to a network switch which connects them to a print server attached to a printer. The last print server recently died and has been replaced, but the problem remains. I've downloaded the driver from the printer manufacturers website and installed on both XP machines, one functions fine but after each reboot the printer is grayed out on the other. Removing it and adding again fixes this until the next reboot.I am aware of some networking issues at this site which result in a few dropped packets between sites but shouldn't be an issue here since they are all attached to the same switch.

Jan 19, 2011We have an HP DeskJet 3050 wireless printer connected by WiFi to two laptops. One laptop, a Dell 700m, runs XP Pro with all updates applied. The other laptop, a Dell XPS 15, runs Windows 7 64-bit, again with all updates applied.The printer works completely reliably from the XP machine. From the XPS 15, the printer works reliably for a day or so, then the icon in Devices & Printers is grayed, indicating the printer is offline. Even in this condition, I can access the printer's built-in web server using Firefox on the XPS 15 and the connection appears to be fine. The printer's IP address has not changed. But the printer is still reported as offline for printing by Windows.
The workaround is to delete the device and reinstall it using Add Printer and Have Disk, but using the already installed drivers rather than re-installing. After doing that, the printer then works for a few days before again going offline.This problem is extremely irritating. I've done Google searches on this problem. Although I've found a variety of similar reports for various brands of wireless printers on Vista or Windows 7, I've not seen a solution. My latest attempt is to share the printer on the Dell 700m and print to the shared printer from the XPS 15. We'll see if that continues to work for a few days (I suspect it will). But this isn't really a solution and not always convenient.

The next day though, we didn't have an internet connection.I checked everything with the modem (power cycles, etc.) and then I tried the router. Upon disabling SPI Firewall Protection, the internet connection came back.I tested it yet again, to see if it really was the SPI. Enabled and bam, no internet access again. I made sure to select "Allow" in the Access Restrictions for "Internet access during selected days and hours" making sure also that "Everyday" and "24 Hours" are selected.Now my question is, what do I need to do in order to enable my Access Restrictions without having to lose internet connection via the SPI Firewall?

I don't know what that did but I've been completely shut out of my connection ever since and I don't know how to fix it. Oct 16, 2011I have a WAG160N with firmware V1.00.16 (version 1 device).The router is connected via ethernet to my main iMac running Lion 10.7.2, although the issue's I'm having have occurred for some time before upgrading to Lion or its's latest update.Firstly, devices I connect to the router wirelessly such as my iPad and iPhone will allow me to use the internet on said devices for about ten minute then the internet will simply stop. The device is shown as connected (checking the wifi settings on iPad etc show the router is still seen). If I switch WI-FI off on the device, then back on, internet is restored. It's not an internet provider issue as I can use the net all day on my ethernet-connected iMac without a problem.My printer is connected to my iMac via USB and shared with other devices. It is seen on my Macbook which connects wirelessly via the router. If I try to print from the macbook, the print job will not progress until I re-start the router. Likewise, there are applications that I sync between my ipad and iMac via iTunes with my mac connected via the USB cable. The iPad will not bee seen by the iMac unless I re-start the router. My Apple TV will only sync wirelessly with the iMac if I re-start the router.

I can't able to recognize a system - all wifi clients lose connection. When this happens, the ping answer time rech the ~2000 times, then totally lose the connection, the SSID is dissapear - checking with my phone (android - wifi analyzer) and TL-WN822N USB wifi adapter (with the inSSIDer application). Meanwhile the cable clients and the WAN connections works fine, didn't experience anything.If I restart the wifi service with the hardware on/off button, it runs well for some time.This problem appeared when I used the two older official firmware too.
I tried the auto-chanel function width auto channel width, tried to manually set up one of the less interfered channels with both 20MHz and 40MHz channel width, but none of them bring the solution.The intresting thing is, if I change the router with an old D-Link DI-604, the signal is weak, but the wifi connection is stable, with the same TL-WN822N adapter.I tried to guarantee the router, but after two weeks, my reseller said, it looks ok, they - at the TP-Link service - didn't find anything.

Browsers Lose Connection To Internet / Despite Still Having A Connection?
May 13, 2012Every time I boot up my computer, everything will be working fine for about 5 -10 minutes, but after this, all my browsers will lose connection to the Internet. All of them: IE, firefox, chrome, even the steam browser, all of them just lose connection.The weird thing is, my net connection is perfectly fine: I can still play online games, still use online chat services, still open and use programs like utorrent. It's like something is just blocking all my browser connections.When I run a network troubleshooter, it says "your computer appears to be correctly configured, but the device or resource (Microsoft Corporation: Software, Smartphones, Online, Games, Cloud Computing, IT Business Technology, Downloads) is not responding."I googled this and came across some apparent fixes like flushing and re-registering my dns and restarting my modem, niether of which has worked.In addition, this problem is showing up on two totally separate shared networks and has only affected my computer. Other netwworked devices, like friends/families computers and my iPhone (which I am using to type this) work fine.

I was involved with unpacking and seting up the equipment to get client up and running. I have never setup a firewall before, and after contacting Draytek, they guided to get BT infinity, 5510 to talk so that the server was able to get onto the internet. The setup was then left in its default state.All was fine until lately, the client keeps losing internet approx same time most days.My problem is how do i get the 5510 properly configured to talk to BT infinity, and sbs 2011.
