Jun 27, 2011
I have a cisco 1811 with 2 isp. i want to shut down an interface when a IP is not responding anymore and to “no shut” when the ip is back online. Here what I make: the interface go shut when 85.14.47.40 not respond but never came up when 85.14.47.40 is back online.
track 100 rtr 99 reachability
delay down 10 up 60
! consider it "down" if down for 10 secs, consider it "up" if up for 60 secs
what happens internally when no shut command is given on the interface of router. The router interface goes up. How? What happen internally on the interface of the router?
My wireless internet will randomly shut off, roughly every other day. It will shut up and say that my wireless router needs to be reset, but all other wireless devices continue to work throughout the house. I could run any amount of diagnostic but it will not fix. The only time it fixes it when it says "repair as administrator" as one of the options in diagnostic test which does not always appear. I went to school yesterday, and my laptop would not connect to the wireless network there at all, but everyone else around me connected fine.
I have a Linksys wireless router. Currently, a PC is connected by cable to it. Also connected by cable are the PS3 and stand-alone printer. It seems when the PC is shut down there's no Internet access to through the router. Whether the PC is up or down shouldn't effect the router, right?
My daughter received an I pad for her recent 16th birthday and so I have added a Wi-Fi router to our home system. My question is how do I shut down the Wi-Fi and maintain access to the internet with my home computer? I am sure that everyone with children understands why I want to have this ability.
I am using Belkin router for my laptop . Once I shut down my laptop suddenly the router stops working and hence if some one else is using the wi-fi network, he is loosing the connectivity. For that I have to restart the router everytime when ever I shut down my laptop.
I have a TL-WR740N router, and the problem is that when I shut down my Desktop PC wherein the router is connected, the devices that are connected via Wi-fi can't connect to the internet anymore even though the router is still ON.
How to shut off wireless admin access on a 1131 AP? I only want to be able to administer the device via the wired LAN. I need to shut of http, ssh, and telnet.
Is it possible to reduce de recoveery time after an interface shutdown? Current interface configuration is as follows and it takes 1 second to recover from a shutdown. I need to decrease this time.(Cisco Catalyst C3560) [code]
Just up-graded my OS to Win 7 Pro and I installed the adapter with no problems.. The problem starts when trying to shut sown Win 7, when I try to power off the system, the little blue light flickers about 1/2 dozen times then goes Steady Blue and stays that way till it shuts off..I have to manully take it out of the USB port each time I shut down my PC or it will get really hot and Probably burn up. I have tried all the power options and that does nothing...This did not happen when I was running XP service pack 3 32 bit.
I have cisco catalyst 2960S switch. In this switch I have created the vlan 10 with member ports Gig 1/0/1, Gig 1/0/2 and Gig 1/0/3. What I want to configure is as follows.
- If any one of the port of this vlan 10 is turned down, then I want to shutdown entire van
- If Gi1/0/1 is turned down, then I want to shut down Gi1/0/2.
I have a stack of five 3750X's connected in a single stack with the stackwise cables. Within this one stack, I created two power stacks, one power stack has 3 switches and the other has two switches. In each of the separate power stacks, one power stack port on a switch shows "shut", so the power stacks are not operating in a full ring. Is there a way to do a "no shut" on those stacks ports that are shut? IOS is 12.2(55)SE1
One of my VLANS on my 3750 gives a status of act/lshut. I've tried no shut commands on the interface to no avail. From my reading it seems like this means the VLAN is active but shut down locally.
Lets say I have a group of interfaces on a Cisco 3560. Lets say it is interfaces fa0/13-fa0/24. Is there any way to write a script so that I can shut or noshut all these interfaces at once?
Basically I want to be able to easily turn the ports on and off all at once as they are only used a couple of times a week but when they are used they are all used at once. When they are not in use I do not want to be dishing out our internal network to anyone who may wander into the area.
Under Service in Win NT 2008 server, how can I remove the auto-shut down task schedule for all students' computers in the classrooms. It always popup a message box at 5:30pm - "auto shutdown" in all workstations (win xp). How to remove that from "service" and not affecting the server to shutdown? Click where to disable/stop it?
I have the e4200v2 with Smart Wifi (formerly Connect Cloud). On my previous routers, I've been able to shut down internet access for my ENTIRE home network at a specific time each night and then re-allow access again at a specfic time the next morning.
In using the Parental Controls on the 4200v2, it appears I have to set times for EACH and EVERY device on my network. I have 4 kids and a very heavy wireless network, including 3 Xboxes, 1 PS3, a Bluray player, a Directv receiver, an RCA media streaming device, 4 laptops, 1 desktop, 4 IPODs, and 1 IPhone on my network.
My goal is to shut down the internet access completely each night at Midnight, then re-allow access the next morning at 6am in order to ensure my kids aren't up all night playing games, etc. But the the Parental Controls on the 4200v2, it appears I have to do this for EVERY device, instead of being able to just shut down access across the board like I could with the old Linksys web-based interface.
we're upgrading over 40 of our 3550/3560 switches to the 3560x platform - what I have noticed is that we get quite a few PoE issues when migrating the site - for instance, 90 - 95% of the site's Cisco's phones will come up but not all of them - the best way to resolve that issue is to identify the ports that haven't came up and then shut - wait 10 secs and no shut.
Is there a way to configure a switch (3550, 3560,3750) to disable a switch port if it has not been used for a specified time period such as weeks or months. Say you want the switch to disable switch ports that have been "abandoned".
I googled it and I got instructions to go into device manager and right click wireless adaptors, and enable, but their is 5 adaptors listed. I am not sure what one or option to pick
My E4200 recently started to randomly shut down. To say the least this is very aggravating. Nothing has changed, location still the same and it seems to be overheating or in the very least getting warm. In the last It will also shut down multiple times a day too. I have done some reading and am beginning to regret this purchase.
I was in the Wireless tab>Basic Wireless Settings and then I clicked the "Reset Security" button. I don't know what that did but I've been completely shut out of my connection ever since and I don't know how to fix it. I tried doing the install sequence of the router just now (Clone MAC address, then release and renew DHCP, power cycle modem, router, and PC) but it still didn't work.
Over the course of the past three days, our ASA 5505 firewall has shut down twice. I looked through the Field Notices and it looks like this was a problem identified several years ago that was resolved for units built after June 1, 2007. The serial number on our unit is not in the "effected" range.
I've got a Cisco 1811 router with FastEthernet0 plugged into a cable modem with 5 static IP's. I want to disable the ability for those IP's to be pinged externally except for certain addresses that I specify (I have some offsite servers that I use to monitor the ISP link for example). I also want the ability to be able to ping external addresses from the router as well as any of my inside subnets. [code]
I've tried varying ACL's and applied to Fa0, none of which work [code]
