Is it possible to reduce de recoveery time after an interface shutdown? Current interface configuration is as follows and it takes 1 second to recover from a shutdown. I need to decrease this time.(Cisco Catalyst C3560) [code]
View 1 RepliesWe have a Cisco switch in each office and every now and then the port that has the D-Link Wireless AP (DAP-1522) connected to it goes to err-disable state. Actually sometimes even a regular port that has a cisco phone connected may also go to err-disable state (less often). So I have to telnet into the switch and issue shut and no shut command on that interface to get it back to life, then it works for a few days or weeks until it happens again. Any suitable configuraiton for that interface, that would prevent that from happening or a workaround ?

I've put a C3KX-NM-1G module into a 3750x but can only get ports 1,3 to stand up, ports 2 and 4 dont operate. ports 2,4 are not shutdown and dont come up with working SFPs etc in another switch.

The documentation states that there should be a command "switch 1 stack port 1 disable" but the switch (running 15.0(2)SE2) doesn't seem to be available. Is this a dcumentation bug or is the command not there at all?

I have a c3560 that on Port 1 I can not get any device to talk to the DHCP server.Previously there was a client connected to this port however over the weekend he stated he lost connectivity.
In my troubleshooting I have connected that client to another port and now he is good to go...I connected my laptop and tried to connect to the network however I could not.I checked the logs and did not see anything that lead me to think it was having problems.
Is there another way to shut this down and hopefully start it back up without having to restart the entire switch?
I have two WS-X6148-45AF linecards here that have been out of use for quite some time. Upon inserting them in one of our 6509-E's I noticed that both had "Minor Error"s on their module diagnostics.
I would have just assumed that the cards were dead and requested replacements, but both cards have the *exact* same diagnostic errors, which only seem to effect every-other port. That's too much of a coincidence for me, so I figured I'd ask on the forums and see if I'm just missing something obvious before I assume the worst. Are these cards both somehow damaged in the exact same way? Or is there some config/compatibility issue that I haven't heard of?

We have a 6509 running 5.4(2). We have set up a hyperterm session and connect to multiple devices, then we get to the 6509 and it will not work. When we reload the 6509 and we are consoled into it, we get data until it is finished reloading. Then the console connections is no longer there.

Where did it go and what is replacing it? Interface is a Trunk port as well.
We are going to "publish"(I don't know if this is correct word to use;)) our mail server on Cisco 2921. As far as I know it can be easily achieved with static NAT. But the thing is, we don't want to publish it on standard 443 port i.e. we want router to listen for https connections on other port than 443, and then redirect this connection to internal server with private ip.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI got a new router yesterday and I'm trying to re-portforward a server that I was hosting. I access my router page and add the ports to the port triggering page and it saves. After that, I go and check if my ports are open, but it is still saying that they are closed. The protocol is set at TCP. However, on my old 2WIRE router, I used to be able to set the application type as FTP. But theres no option to do it on this one.
Everything worked fine before on my old 2WIRE router. Also, if it makes a difference, I'm using the Windows 8 developer preview. I'm not sure if this would be the problem, but I also tried adding a port exception to the firewall but can't find the option to do so.
Currently it seems as our 3550's doesn't send traps when bpdu-guard sets a port in err-disable state. Or DFM doesnt recognize it.Is there a way to get a DFM alert when a 3550-port gets into err-disable state?

View 12 Replies View RelatedEven though I've been working on Cisco way too long I've never worked with the 871 before, and I've never inherited a system with so many unused commands in the config. Apparently there have been a lot of changes over the years and a lot of commands left behind. And sure I'd like to clean it all up and start over, but I really just need it working right now.
There are a total of 4 sites, HQ and remotes1-3. HQ has an ASA, remotes the 871s, there are VPN tunnels between each 871 and the ASA and these are working fine.
Remote1 also has tunnels to Remote2 and Remote3, and these work.
Remote2 has the working tunnels to HQ and Remote1, but can't establish a tunnel to Remote3.
Remote3 has working tunnels to Remote1 and HQ, but not Remote2 (obviously)
They are all running the same IOS 12.4(20)T3 and have virtually identical configurations. A sho cryto sess on Remote2 and 3 look like this, with an obvious IKE problem;
Interface: FastEthernet4
Session status: UP-ACTIVE
Peer: xxx.xxx.xxx.x30 port 500

The only differences in the configs are the IP and the self-signed keys might have different modulus. This is the config for Remote3, I've tried some different combinations of putting in static routes and not, so don't assume what's here is what's been tried. And I've already gone over the pre- shared keys and ACLs a hundred times. My gone is to just get it working, not make it clean. Note: int Tunnel1 is shutdown and not in use.

Though, in the "computers" section there's nothing. Though the main house computer is connected to the same network as the laptop I am at. I wondered why isn't the computer there? So I typed net view in cmd , and only the laptop's name was there. Meaning? The two computers are connected to the same network, thats for sure, the ip's last number in the main pc is 1 and in the laptop is 2. But this is which port each computer is using right?
