I have been using the Cisco7613 and FlexWAN with PA-8E1-IMA PortAdapter. It has been used for ITP (SIGTRAN) Today, I attemted to enter the Port Adapter 13 1 module with using command that "attach" command. But I couldn't that. and I could see the Error Message below." RTTYC_ ATTACH_ REQ Failed with return code 2 , aborting". This Module (13 1) is working normal. but why cannot enter to the PA ?
I am looking for a "no marketing babble" explanation of what exactly Cisco Prime Infrastructure does, that the built in 5508 Wifi administration console and Cisco Network Assitant does not do.I already use the "Cisco UC560 Configuration Assistant", the "Cisco Network Assistant" for our switches, and the "Wifi 5508 web admin console", and I am fine with that.At another site where I work, that is now going with Cisco Wifi, it is suggested that "Cisco Prime Infrastructure" be purchased. Is it important to me to have a "single pane of glass" view of the entire network? NO IT IS NOT.
All this marketing babble about having everything converged and accessible for mobile BYOD users. Yeah, that's great, but what is Cisco Prime Infrastructure actually going to do about all the mobile wifi devices coming in to the network that MUST use a web proxy to get out of our network? Many don't deal with proxy.pac correctly or don't read it at all, unless that function is explicitly turned on, by the individual device owner, in an often hidden location in their device settings. I am mainly looking at the $3000 a year price for Prime Infrastructure and going, no way, the Cisco Network Assistant and 5508 Wifi web console that are thrown in for free with the new hardware is fine with me.
Ciscowork 3.2.1 daemon manager is not working after patch installation.
C:Documents and SettingsAdministrator>net start crmdmgtdThe CiscoWorks Daemon Manager service is starting. The CiscoWorks Daemon Manager service could not be started. The service did not report an error. More help is available by typing NET HELPMSG 3534.
Also I checked syslog.log and it is showing below error an 17 14:39:34 127.0.0.1 100: <28> dmgt[1316]: 2507(W):Daemon manager anonymous user has not been set up: 00000569
I have this Cisco Switch: SRW2048-K9-NA. When I log into the Web GUI, I am provided the two options mentioned above for VLAN Management. I have fiddled with the two options and they seem identical to me. Is there really a difference, maybe better flexibility?
I purchased a Cisco 2621 with IOS Version 12.3(26) on it. When I went through the commands, I couldn't find any VLAN or VTP available. I need to make sure I can see this on the device in order for me be able configure VLAN on my network and get ready for my CCNA exam.
Below is the version on the device and I also attached the available commands: Version: IOS (tm) C2600 Software (C2600-I-M), Version 12.3(26), RELEASE SOFTWARE (fc2)
We are trying to config vlan 10 for data and vlan 20 for voice on the same port - port 1 of swtich SF300-24P to run both data and voice on different vlans.Do I have to add vlan 10 as an untagged vlan to port 1 and add vlan 20 as an tagged vlan to port 1?If I do not want to assign the native vlan 1 to port 1, how can I remove it ? The GUI page - assign VLAN to port does not allow to remove it.Aslo, what mode shall I set up on port 1? General, trunk or access ?
I have set up 2 DHCP pools and 2 VLANs (1 *the native* for data / 1 VLAN for voice). When I use the command "switchport voice vlan 20" the port disapear from the show vlan brief list. When I use the "switchport access vlan 20" it shows up in the show vlan brief in the correct VLAN and gives the phone an IP. I assume that using the access instead of the voice is wrong and the phones would not configure correctly. But when I use the access the phone goes to the next step and tells me the TFTP files are not found. Why does the port disapear from the VLAN list?
I have 2 Procuve Switches one is 2650 were all the Department PC's & Wireless access points connected & second one is 2610 were i have the firewall connected,Active Directory & Windows DHCP Server
Switch 1- 2650 Ports Port 1-16 is used by HR Department Port17-32 is used by Finanace Department Port 33-34 is used by Access Points Port 41-48 is used by Users
Port 50 is used to uplink to switch 2610.What i wanted to achive is Isolcate Departments & Users & Access Points through VLAN from each other but they should be able to hit our Active directory for authentication, Firewall for internet & DHCP Server for IP's.
I have set up an ACL on my 3750 switch to deny icmp from PC A on our inside network to PC B on a different VLAN on our inside network using the following ACLs:
These ACLs belong to an access-list that also limits ip traffic to a few specific machines. When I try pinging from PC A I receive a reply message back from PC B. Shouldn't this configuration block any ICMP from PC A to PC B and from PC B to PC A? I would have expected the first ACL statement to block any packets associated with ICMP and when that didn't work I tried the second configuration.
I have a switched network of C2980 & C3548 switches with multiple VLANs. I would like to understand the difference between Multi- VLAN ports and trunk ports. What circumstances would dictate using one over the other? If I configure the router port as Multi- VLAN, does the router still require sub-interfaces?
Customer is running LMS 2.6.Scheduled backup was running perfect. But it is no more happening. When we checked we found that the "License Manager/ Deamon Manager is down" message pop ups.
We reset the casuser password, and then restarted the services. It becomes ok.But only the immediate backup is successful. Scheduled task fails for all those devices."License Manager/ Deamon Manager is down" happens quite often.
I have two WS-X6148-45AF linecards here that have been out of use for quite some time. Upon inserting them in one of our 6509-E's I noticed that both had "Minor Error"s on their module diagnostics.
I would have just assumed that the cards were dead and requested replacements, but both cards have the *exact* same diagnostic errors, which only seem to effect every-other port. That's too much of a coincidence for me, so I figured I'd ask on the forums and see if I'm just missing something obvious before I assume the worst. Are these cards both somehow damaged in the exact same way? Or is there some config/compatibility issue that I haven't heard of?
relevant diagnostic output from one of the cards (Both outputs the same, no use posting twice) is below:
Router#show diagnostic result module 4 Current bootup diagnostic level: minimal Module 4: 48-port 10/100 mb RJ45 SerialNo : SAL11391VUY
We are trying to install filter software at our main location and branches. The admin console has been installed at the main branch, but I need to allow access to ports 58000-58003 through our firewall in order to successfully install the software at our branches.
We have built some policers to apply to vlan SVIs on our 7613 so that we can rate limit input and output traffic. We followed the Cisco formula and got this.
policy-map vlan-shape-3meg class class-default police cir 3000000 bc 562500 be 1125000 conform-action transmit exceed-action drop violate-action drop
There have been some complaints about this not actually meeting the limit. When I do a show policy-map interface xxx I get this. Based on that it looks like the Be value is being change to match the Bc value.
On a separate note, I noticed that every policer we built with the cisco formula actually ends up with a Tc greater than the max Tc of .125 seconds. It seems odd that a recommended formula would end up creating values outside the maximum allowed limits by the software.
I'm not a QoS expert so if any of this seems like basic stuff it's just because I'm a little slow on QoS.
One other thing...in order to apply policers input and output on an SVI does mls qos vlan-based have to be configured on the trunks tagged with the corresponding Vlan?
I have a LAN with Cisco 1941 as the only router with NAT that connects it to the internet, with a single public IP. There are many gamer users, and they complain that Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 sees our network as "strict NAT", while for full gaming experience it needs "open NAT". After a small research I have found out that CoD needs certain port ranges to be forwarded to LAN IPs. Well, I know how to forward a range of ports to a single IP, but how is it possible to forward a port range for all the IPs in the LAN?
I need to increase the link capacity of 10GE to 20GE between two Cisco7609, so I feel the need to configure port channel between them, my little problem is that I have a SCE 8080 in the middle of both 7600 currently is configured inline. The SCE has 4 modules 1X10GE-L-V2 (currently in use 2), I was investigated and the truth is that I not found anything concrete about how to configure the SCE to "pass" etherchannel through it? What the SCE needs to support 20GE of traffic? (configuration and software)
We have a 6509 running 5.4(2). We have set up a hyperterm session and connect to multiple devices, then we get to the 6509 and it will not work. When we reload the 6509 and we are consoled into it, we get data until it is finished reloading. Then the console connections is no longer there.
Is it possible to reduce de recoveery time after an interface shutdown? Current interface configuration is as follows and it takes 1 second to recover from a shutdown. I need to decrease this time.(Cisco Catalyst C3560) [code]
I have a cisco 7613 router and need to connect a site using Optical fibre (BSNL) on gigabit port,we will use convertor to convert optical signal to electrical .What configuration must be done on router to ensure this point to point fibre connectivity between my router and another router at differnt POp.
Just want to ask if 4-port serial HWIC-4T is compatible for the Cisco 2801?We need additional HWIC for Fast Ethernet but the problem is we don't have already slot for it.We already have two HWIC-2T 2-port serial which is inserted at slot 1 and slot 3. We're planning to buy 4-port HWIC-4T so we can use the slot 3 for HWIC Fast Ethernet.if it's possible to have the 4-port serial HWIC-4T be inserted to Cisco 2801.
I used to be able to set an uplink port with the interface command "port network" so that it would not learn all the mac addresses that are being flooded down to the switch. It does not seem to be there on the 2950's or 35XX switches.
Where did it go and what is replacing it? Interface is a Trunk port as well.
We are going to "publish"(I don't know if this is correct word to use;)) our mail server on Cisco 2921. As far as I know it can be easily achieved with static NAT. But the thing is, we don't want to publish it on standard 443 port i.e. we want router to listen for https connections on other port than 443, and then redirect this connection to internal server with private ip.
I have Cisco 7613 on my edge(MPLS Backbone). CPU utilization is shooting to 100% at frequent intervals. When I tell vendors managing device they tell that it is happening due to one of my server(connected on Fast ethernet port of 100Mbps) generating heavy traffic. My questions are:
1. Can a router of 720Gbps capability be choked due to traffic generated by 100Mbps link?
2. Interrupt CPU process utilization is well below 10% at the said time. BGP router process consumes most of the CPU. Does this means that server in question is generating too many routing updates?
3. Is there any way that I can limit routing updates on a particular link?
4. how to check which link is causing more CPU utilization.
We have a 7613 w/ WS-SUP720-3BXL running 12.2(18)SXF11. We have a 48 port WS-X6748-GE-TX that has one interface that keeps getting output drops for anything over 200Mb/sec.
See the attached file which has more details and show results.
I got a new router yesterday and I'm trying to re-portforward a server that I was hosting. I access my router page and add the ports to the port triggering page and it saves. After that, I go and check if my ports are open, but it is still saying that they are closed. The protocol is set at TCP. However, on my old 2WIRE router, I used to be able to set the application type as FTP. But theres no option to do it on this one.
Everything worked fine before on my old 2WIRE router. Also, if it makes a difference, I'm using the Windows 8 developer preview. I'm not sure if this would be the problem, but I also tried adding a port exception to the firewall but can't find the option to do so.
What would cause an interface to show up/up (looped), but you still can't ping that loop?...It is on a Cisco 7613 with an Enhanced FlexWan (WS-X6582- 2PA), with a Mx Serial PA, 8 ports (73-1580-10) and running IOS ver 12.2(33)SRE2 [code]
We have Router CISCO7613,SSO redundancy configured with two Sup 720-3BXL running 12.2(33)SRC1 image. Even thought I've configured SSO, my standby sup remains in COLD state with the following logs generated.
Mar 20 22:07:32.514 IST: %ISSU-SP-3-PEER_IMAGE_INCOMPATIBLE: Peer image (c7600s72033_sp-ADVENTERPRISEK9-M), version (12.2(33)SRC1) on peer uid (8) is incompatible Mar 20 22:07:32.514 IST: %ISSU-SP-3-PEER_IMAGE_INCOMPATIBLE: Peer image (c7600s72033_sp-ADVENTERPRISEK9-M), version (12.2(33)SRC1) on peer uid (8) is incompatible Mar 20 22:08:48.263 IST: %PFREDUN-SP-4-INCOMPATIBLE: Defaulting to RPR mode (Runtime incompatible) [code]...
These logs says that due to some reasons, the configuration is not being synchronized with active and standby sups and hence the redundancy mode remains in RPR mode and SSO not achieved, and hence COLD state. However, I couldn't find a reason why the configuration is not being synchronized, I've issued the command, redundancy config-sync ignore mismatched-commands, and everything worked fine, SSO achieved and standby sup came to HOT state. Now my query is,
1. Why the configuration was not synchronized and standby SUP got in COLD state?? 2. Since I issued the suggested command, at least, some of the mismatched lines in configuration will be ignored, Will that create a problem when my Active sup fails and standby become active?
I am planning to deploye the fwsm with all this complexity, will this type of senario work or not means traffic will move from msfc to the core.. Is this right to create another svi int2 on msfc to move traffic from msfc to core-switch.
