May 12, 2012

Customer is running LMS 2.6.Scheduled backup was running perfect. But it is no more happening. When we checked we found that the "License Manager/ Deamon Manager is down" message pop ups.

We reset the casuser password, and then restarted the services. It becomes ok.But only the immediate backup is successful. Scheduled task fails for all those devices."License Manager/ Deamon Manager is down" happens quite often.

I also Added ACS as a NetOS Agent in the RSA Server , during the process i found few warnings . The ACE Server is not able to Resolve the IP Address to NAme ( DOes it Necessary ?? ).

I havent created any secret Key file for communication between ACS and RSA and encryption i used is DES.

Now when I log into ACS and search for Devices in the Identity Store Sequences i am not able to Look for RSA Token Sever .

Cisco WAN :: Can 2900 Working As A UC Manager

Feb 15, 2012

I want to know if the Cisco 2900 series can do UC without having to buy any other hardware.I read through the 2900 series datasheet, and i can understand it does. But will want to clarify if i do not need any other hardware except the Unified Communications License for Cisco 2901-295.Does this mean all i need to activate UC is buying this license? My organisation wants to do UC, especially Voice and Wireless. It requires APs, IP Phones(both wired and wireless). To achieve this on a 2900 series, is all i need just the UC license to work, and then my IP Phones both wired and wireless once plugged to the switch connected to the 2900 series starts working?Or do i still need to buy another hardware for the Unified communication Manager Express ?

i have met connection problems (mainly with xp)where a laptop always have problem connecting to a secured wifi connection that has higher encryption than wep (wpa - wpa2).In general after a few tests . I am almost sure that it is xp's Wireless Zero Configuration's problem.I am wondering if there is alternatives to WZC that does not require their own brand's device to run a 3rd party Wireless Connection Manager.I am not looking for a model specific software either ,

Examples are:

Deleted NetBt From Device Manager

Apr 21, 2012

I was trying to fix a diagnosis error under my Internet Connection stating your computer appears to be correctly configured, but the device or resource (DNS server) is not responding. I thought maybe going to Device Manager while showing hidden files selected then go to non plug and play, and then I deleted NetBT, and then a PC reboot. I was very wrong because I have no Internet, and honestly, I only have one PC.I have Windows 7 Home Premium Anytime Upgrade that I bought. It's a 32-bit OS.

Apr 20, 2011

I just recently got the internet and I have a desktop computer that has ever rarely been used and it has never had the internet on it. I called tech support of my ISP to see what many be the problem why I can't connect to the internet and found that the source of the problem was I do not have a LAN network connection. When I open Network Connections on the computer, nothing is there. I also went to device manager and there is nothing there for Networking. Under category of "Other Devices" in Device Manager there is a question mark next to "Ethernet Controller". Are there drivers or something I need download to fix this so I can connect to the internet via a DSL connection.

My computer specs are:

Windows XP Professional

Cisco :: Setup The ATA 186 As A SIP Device With Call Manager 7?

Jul 30, 2012

I would like to use the Cisco ATA 186 as a SIP device with Cisco Call Manager 7. However, I have found that the SIP firmware for the Cisco ATA 186 is unsupported by Call Manager 7.Therefore, In order to use the ATA as a SIP device with the Call Manager, I believe I will need setup the ATA as a 3rd Party SIP device by doing the following:

1. Disable the TFTP option within the ATA, so that the SIP firmware is not overwritten by firmware from the TFTP server.

2. Install the 3.2.1 SIP firmware on the ATA, since the ATA is currently running the 3.2.4 SCCP firmware.

3. Register the ATA, as a third-party SIP device, with the Call Manager .Should I register the ATA as a 3rd party device?

Cisco :: LMS 4.2.2 - Fault Manager Does Not Resolve Hostname

Dec 13, 2012

This is Cisco Prime LMS 4.2.2 on Windows 2008 R2

As far as I understand it Fault Manager need to be able to do reverse lookup for ip adresses to show the correct name in the "device name" column. I have double and tripple checked and all devices that only is shown as an ip address do have a reverse in the dns used by the LMS server. The device is correctly registered and inventory have been run. If I hold the mouse pointer over the crosshair on the row of the offending device all info is shown including correct device name and fqdn.

The server is upgraded from 4.2.1 to 4.2.2 and we have the same problem before the upgrade.

Cisco Wireless :: AP-manager Interface On 2504?

Jan 8, 2013

I'm getting familiar with an existing, working wireless installation that uses a 2504 controller (recently upgraded to 7.3.101.0).

From the documentation, it looks like there should be a "AP-manager" interface by default (static).  There is not one.

Configuring the Management Interface (GUI) #

Step 1 Choose Controller > Interfaces to open the Interfaces page.
###
Figure 3-3     Interfaces Page
#

According to that document, there are 4 Static interfaces.  On the one I'm working on, there are only two: "management" and "virtual."  (There are also a couple of "Dynamic" interfaces that have been set up.)From reading the documentation, it sounds like there should be an AP-manager interface, and that this would have been there by default.

It also sounds like an AP-manager interface is needed:Information About the AP-Manager Interface ## A controller has one or more AP-manager interfaces, which are used for all Layer 3 communications between the controller and lightweight access points after the access points have joined the controller. The AP-manager IP address is used as the tunnel source for CAPWAP packets from the controller to the access point and as the destination for CAPWAP packets from the access point to the controller.

Question 1:  If I do not have an AP-Manager interface, are the APs connecting at L2?  Is there some way to tell on these controllers whether APs are connecting at L2 or at L3 using udp?

Question 2:  Is it not the case that one AP-manager interface should be there by default?  (I see in the docs that more than one can be created, but in that case I expect that the additional interface(s) would show in the list as "Dynamic" and not "Static.")

A bit of background: The customer network is largely one flat network now, and I'm planning on subnetting it, and routing from the closets up.  I want to make sure what may need to be changed in this wireless setup before proceeding.  (The main wireless users are also getting IP addresses on the same flat network, at this point.  That obviously will change so that they are on their own subnet.)
