I have a CUOM 2.3 and CUCM 7.0 installed, we are planned to have a major upgrade to CUCM to 8.5 soon, do i need to upgrade my CUOM ,since CUOM is a Network management system? If CUOM to be upgraded to 8.X do we need to purchase the upgrade license? Is OM 2.3 to 8.X is a direct upgrade?

I'm setting up a couple 881W cisco routers to use Unified wireless and am running into a bit of a brick wall.I've read through the "Upgrading to Unified Cisco Software" section of the following article:[URL]The problem is, I can't run the "service-module wlan-ap0 bootimage unified" command. The keyword "bootimage" does not exist. The router is licensed for advipservices and I'm running version 15.0(1)M4 on the router. AP is currently running version 12.4(21a)JA1. why the bootimage command doesn't appear? Will I need to downgrade the router IOS to 12.4?Additionally I'm having trouble finding an answer to the following:Is there a way to set up the embedded AP on the same network as the Data VLAN on the router, or do I need to create a separate IP network for the embedded AP? I've tried using 'ip unnumbered vlan10' (vlan10 is the data vlan) on the wlan-ap0 interface but then when I try opening a session to the AP it doesn't connect.

Customer is running LMS 2.6.Scheduled backup was running perfect. But it is no more happening.When we checked we found that the "License Manager/ Deamon Manager is down" message pop ups.
We reset the casuser password, and then restarted the services. It becomes ok.But only the immediate backup is successful. Scheduled task fails for all those devices."License Manager/ Deamon Manager is down" happens quite often.
I want to Upgrade CUCM 8.0 to 8.6 version. What are the necessary steps, any tools, license requirements?
View 1 Replies View RelatedWe are upgrading from Callmanager 4.0(2a) to new hardware and the latest version. We have Callmanger 4.0(2a) and would like to upgrade to the newest version, at least to CUCM 8. We already have the new hardware that is compatible, smartnets and licenses. After looking at the matrix sheet it appears (there were several different upgrade routes but I could only find documentation for upgradring to 7.1(2) and 7.0(1) from 4.x so I am going with 7.1(2)) should we go:
from 4.0(2a) to 4.3(1)
from 4.3(1) to 7.1(2)
from 7.1(2) to 8.0(1)
this gets us to 8 which we can then upgrade to 8.5 or 8.6
So, we have 4 servers, 2 old (Pub, Sub) and 2 new (Pub, Sub). What is the best plan of attack here:
1) Backup 4.0(2a), then do an inplace upgrade on old hardware from 4.0(2a) to 4.3(1). Then backup 4.3(1) and do another inplace upgrade on the same server to 7.1(2). Then load 7.1(2) on the new hardware and restore backup from 7.1(2) on the old hardware. Then backup and inplace upgrade to 8.0 on the new server?
Or
2) is there any way to not have to "touch" or do an inplace upgrade on the old hardware running 4.0(2a), and just run a backup on it, load 8.5 on the new server and import the data over from the backup?
What vmware i have to use to install cucm 7. vmware workstation 7 or vmware server or exsi 4 or 5. Any correct link to download and vmware config settings.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI've looked in many places but cannot see how or if it is possible to configure a phone, in CUCM to have a feature ring instead of the normal ring.In CUCME you go into the ephone x configuration mode, and assign the DN to the phone with the button xfx command. What this gives you is a slightly different ring tone when a call comes through. If I am not mistaken it is the same ringtone they use on the show "24".Is there a way to do this "feature" with CUCM?

Weird because I have Cisco IP communicator phones that register with no problem. You guys know what I can be missing. I have restarted the CUCM and services multiple times. The phone log on my phones say it can't find dhcp and DNS unknown host but my CUCM is configured by IP address. I also attached some screenshots
View 3 Replies View RelatedLooks like I still have an issue with LMS to recognize the IP Phones in UT as IP Phones. SNMP RO on Call Manager is enabled and is green in CM (e.g. topology) - so SNMP get is basically fine. The Phones are recognised as End Devices in UT.
As far as I understand, now if I start a Phone Aquisition, the CUCM is polled by LMS to gather additional information about the phones. So it seems there is a problem with the SNMP polling of the Call manager?
bit of a newbie to this call manager stuff but I was having a bit of a play earlier and for the life of me I can not see an easy way to list which directory numbers are in a particular pickup group. I can see the list of pickup groups and how to assign the directory number to a pickup group but surely there's an easy way to find out which numbers are in a particular pickup group???

In CUCME if you do not configure any translation rules and leave the system mainly at default, when a call is routed to the PSTN the CUCME system sends the true calling party ID which would be a users extension number. Is it correct to assume that a CUCM server based system, when too left at the majority of default (without translation rules or stripping etc) that it will send the true calling ID to the gateway?

No problems till now.There is sometimes abnormal lost of Internet connection, detected by LAN devices. I found it 3 days ago. This dysfunction is occasional 2-5 per day in occasional time.Nothing was changed/upgraded/updated in my WAN cable router or LAN or in the Cisco router. Nothing was changed on computers site (OS,LAN cards, drivers, ...). Just the problem is discovered on the router side.LAN operatation is correct, no problems was founded. Just the devices on LAN lose the internet connection (Win7, Lnx, Mac).
This is status of my WAN - does not matter if the internet connection was lost or not. It is still same:
STATUS-WAN/Gateway
Interface: UP
IP Address is assigned (checked by provider - correct)
Default Gateway and DNSs are assigned too(checked by provider- correct)
What was checked by me:
1. A. I disconnected the cable router from Cable modem
B. I connected the Cable router directly to laptop. Internet connection was right.
2. I called to my Cable provider to check my connection:
- with direct laptop connection to Cable router - Right
- with Cisco router connected to Cable router - Right, but no Internet connection on LAN side behind the Cisco router
3. Standard procedure was tested:
- Unplugged (electricity & cabling) all devices - Cable modem, Cisco router as well.
- Restart of Cable modem, +30 sec. connection of IP cable to Cisco router, start of Cisco router Still same. No Internet connection.
- SETUP/SUMMARY/Network Settings Status - DHCP Release or DHCP Renew was tryed - Still same.After several minutes - was Internet connection Renewed. Just by itself. how?

View 5 Replies View RelatedI have an issue with two APs (3502i) which is associated to controller wism2. Total number of APs are connected to this controller is 422 and once I added two new APs (3502i) to this controller I am unable to see these APs coming up. Getting error messages like wrong primary controller nad secondary controller. When I loggedin to the controller through CLI following are the details I am getting for the APs which is not registering to the controller:, Also for comparison I am attaching the statistics for the AP which is working good and is able to register.
Note: I thought the problem with these two APs and will try replacing them but when i connected the other two APs to different switch and different subnet the same errors we are seeing.

I have a wireless access point/modem at one end of my property (which I cannot relocate). To improve wireless connectivity on the other end of the property I am thinking of placing a wifi repeater (probably a cheap one like http:[URL]... mid-point in the property. However I don't quite understand how these things work. I assume repeaters, extenders, boosters are all the same thing?
Does the repeater actually create a new seperate wifi network, so I will effectively have two wifi networks/SSIDs? or will my wireless devices still see only one wifi network? If it creates two wifi networks what happens when I move through the property with say a laptop, will the laptop need to disconnect from one and reconnect to the other hence interrupting the connection? (which is not ideal).
Also does the repeater take up an IP from my main wireless access point/modem? My setup uses a block of static IPs and hence I would prefer not to waste an IP on the repeater if possible.Homeplugs is something else I'm looking into but that seems to be a more expensive option. With Homeplugs I would disable the wireless on the main access point/modem. Then use the Homeplug to put a wireless access point in the centre of my property hence giving fuller coverage.I've also tried higher DBi antennas (& directional ones) but they have not been effective.

I want to set up AP 1552 as outdoor access point so serve clients. This AP is connected to 3750X switch and recieving power over ethernet.Now, by default AP 1552 come with bridge mode and it cannot be changed to local mode. I read on one of the post and made it ROOTAP but still the OPER STATUS is down. This device is already registered to my WLC.

wether the Cisco RV180 router model can be configured with a public IP address on the LAN interface? I'm planning to use it in the following setup:
Internet ------------- WAN port (public IP) RV180 LAN port(public IP)-------------- WAN(public IP) RV016 LAN (private IP)
Disabling gateway operational mode and switching to router should disable NAT and allow this setup but need to confirm if it works? I'm concerned if the web management interface actually allows a public IP to be set on the LAN side.
just installed 6 new APs to a client remote site off a 5508 controller. 5508 is running 7.0.116 total of 78 installed APs, mostly 1142's with a dozen or so1242s. All going perfectly until I was about to leave site and noticed two of the APs had no LEDs lit. Checked in the controller, as I had renamed them so knew they were on the system, and they are both there. Connected to each of them and was successful and everything seemed ok - no blue LED though. Rebooted them and the LEDs work as expected during the boot process but as soon as they have entered normal operation the LEDs go dark. urls....but no reports of it with anything other than 3502's.Change process is galacial and heavily monitored so dont want to invoke it if it wont address the concern.

Also cisco view works fine. Bug CSCsm89609 describe the problem but it should be fixed in RME 4.3. We are running 4.3.1.

And the configuration was simple enough and tested fine for redundant static routing: [code] Then I tried to do the same on a 3560 switch running 12.2(55)SE3. ip sla went in fine. But when I went to put in the track I was presented with "list boolean and" (for example) after the track and the identifier.I tossed in the ip sla "10" as the object. But shopw track shows the boolean AND as down. I don't get why the track feature is different in two switches so close in IOS version. How do I get the 3560 to track the ip sla as my 3750 does?
