i've the following problem. Check device credential verification job shows "Error performing SNMP operation" for a cisco 3750 configured with snmpv3.On the switch i can see that the lms can access the switch via snmpv3. Also cisco view works fine. Bug CSCsm89609 describe the problem but it should be fixed in RME 4.3. We are running 4.3.1.

I am currently running WCS 7.0.230 I have controllers that are 2500 that are running 7.4.100.60?
My problem is that when I try to add my controller that is a Cisco 5500 running the same 7.4.100.60 I am getting the error SNMP operation to Device failed: Sparse table not supported. Verify that the WCS and WLC versions are compatible and try again.
I have double checked SNMP strings, IP Addressing and everything else I can think of. It just doesn't make sense that I can add a Controller with the same image but different hardware and no the other to the WCS server.
I've set up a USB drive to be shared via the router (tried both a fat32 and an NTFS drive). When I login from a windows machine I can use the share point without any problems. When I try to use it from a Mac (mounted via smb://192.168.1.1/sharepoint) I can access the folders and download files. I can even create folders. When I try to copy a file onto the share point (normal file name, small file size) I get an error saying "The operation cannot be completed because you do not have sufficient privileges for some of the items." The console log says: "7/3/09 1:01:06 AM kernel smbfs_composeacl: smbfs_setattr 13, ignored "
If I try to copy the file directly via a terminal window I see this:

As I see it there is a problem with leopard trying to set permissions when copying and the router refusing. How to get this to work?

We have a stack setup with 2 C3750x-12s and 5 C3750x-48p switches. We have two of these stacks. One is working and responding with snmp just fine. Our second one is showing the errors in the logThe only difference i see between the two stacks right now are the sw versions.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have this small network comprising of around 40 users complaining about the poor speed. And they have 2900 WAN router having 10M service. The interesting thing is that they are using proxy server for all the communication.I am very new to the server side of thing-and wanted to confirm if the proxy server is packed full to its capacity for serving to clients' requests making it slow or its something to do on the network like WAN link being overloaded or showing errors.I did "sh interface g0/1" (WAN interface) and to me it looks there is not much load as the tx and rxload values are fairly ok. (as shown below). Moreover the output drops is 7341. I am still guessing if thats not too bad??
The other thing I did was to test the "sh ip nat transalations" which is all coming from the PRoxy server and was wondering if that is the place of bottleneck. I am not sure whether this is the right category to which I should submit my question, but I couldn't find a section for "other software support" or anything like that.I am running Windows SBS 2003 at one of my clients and we are using Syncback as the backup software to backup important files and folders that gets written to the server on a daily basis.Now we are using two external drives for this purpose, alternating the two every second day, for improved security.However...I have set up the backup profiles exaclty with the same configurations and everything...everything is identical. But the backup to one of my drives does not want to perform giving the error : "the folder on the destination drive does not exist and can't be created"The folder does exist though, and what puzzles me is that running the backup manually or even copying files manually from the same server backup folders to the drive works perfectly, but when running the scheduled backup, it fails...and yes, the logon and authentication is set to "run as administrator" and the username and password is entered correctly.Like I said, the configs of the two drives are exactly the same, and the backup to the other drive works perfectly.I am using the Syncback free version, and support for the free version on the 2Brightsparks website is unavailable

CS,CM,CV is working and contains devices, but RME (cannot connect to db) and DFM (TIS URN found) not. pdshow and dbRestoreOrig.pl after calling, hangs for ever.
To loose no further time with troubleshooting, I want to reinstall LMS from the scratch.
But I dont want to setup an DNS server just for resolving the only IP-Adresse from LMS server for self purpose only. Do I need an entry in driversetchosts for LMS server itself?

I have a Cisco 3750 switch stack and am performing QOS against a number of SVI vlans on per customer basis. I have 8 customers, each with a /29 public subnet and each with an SVI as a gateway within that /29 range. I then have a "routable" SVI vlan for routing upstream to the internet. [code]
The service policy attached to the interfaces above is supposed to perform policing on download and upload traffic. The service policy is attached to the Routable VLAN for download policing and the Customer VLAN for upload policing. For example, traffic entering the routable VLAN will be policed based on traffic matching an access list to the customers IP range (download). Traffic entering the customer VLAN will be policed based on traffic matching an access list from the customers IP range (upload).The command I am using to police is as follows - police 10485500 966080 exceed-action drop.The problem I am experiencing is traffic into the routable VLAN is being successfully policed down to the 10Mbps i have specified on a per customer basis (download).Traffic entering the customer VLAN is NOT being policed at all (upload).I am limited as to the use of the parent policy map I have specified on the interface, as I can only assign it in one direction (input).
We're since long having a problem with a DSL internet connection. The connection goes down periodically, for short times, and when performing speed tests, the connection speed varies and is usually lower (0.7 Mbit/s) than what the ISP promises (1.5-2 Mbit/s). Moreover, what modem is being used seems to have an effect.Now, I want to trouble-shoot this and get some hard facts on the behaviour of the connection. I would like to do repeated speed tests over say 24 h or so. They should be done every 3 min or so (to catch short glitches).
My question is: what software tool can I use for this? I have been searching the internet for hours, downloading a handful of applications, without finding anything that I could use. There are loads of applications that log and graph the current upload and download speeds, but that's something else - I need a tool that downloads/uploads files from/to a server, in intervals specified by me (3 min), logging the result and presenting it graphically.

Interestingly enough when I 'sh conf | i snmp' the user command isnt there, however it shows it under 'sh snmp user'. Using Solarwinds Eng Toolset to attempt to just pull interfaces and it keeps kicking back with creds failing.

Now they have UT working well for their Ctalyst 4500 switches, and the half of the 6500s (They have 2950 switches as well, but for those UT with SNMPv3 is unsupported). So the problem is the following: they have 12 6500 switches, with the same IOS version (10 pieces of WS-C6506-E + SUP720-3B IOS: 12. 2 (18) SXF17 (IP Services), 2 pieces of WS-C6506 + SUP720-BASE IOS: 12.2(18)SXF17 (IP Services)). View 2 Replies View RelatedI'm going to be moving into a place in the next couple months where I'll have to go wireless on my desktop (until now I've just done Ethernet so I don't even have a wifi card on my desktop). The router/modem aren't anywhere near my bedroom so my gear will be going wireless from now on All my devices are built-in wifi ready but not my desktop.
I would like recommendations as to a rock-solid, reliable, fast and well performing card as I can to make up for no hardwired connection. Especially with BF3 coming out I'm not all that thrilled with being forced into this situation but you gotta do what you gotta do. Anyhow, I'll be bringing my router (Netgear WNDR3700) so I'll have the range and speed from there about as good as I can get, so I'd like a card of equal merit.
One side note...probably not really feasible considering I want speed and performance as a priority, but I would love a card (if possible) without bullshit antennas sticking out of the case, or with external antennas you have to set up on your desk. I will go that route if I have to but man that is an aesthetic nightmare, IMO. The ones that stick out of the back of the case are the worst looking for me just as a caveat.
i tried to restore backup from LMS3.2.1(windows) to LMS4.2 virtual appliance. once the back up is completed, the home page takes forever to load. i opened TAC case, and the only way out seems to be configuring from scratch after importing the devices. i, imported the devices and this didn't cause any problem. But, making the configuration from scratch is something i would like to avoid if possible.

View 1 Replies View RelatedOn our CiscoWorks 2000 installation, running on Solaris with LMS3.2 and RME4.3.1, we noticed a few weeks ago, that the job "Inventory Collection" needs more and more time to finish. At the moment the job execution time is as high as 8 hours, compared to 3 hours before. When we look at the network traffic during job execution, we see after the collection phase (~3h) several hours with no traffic together with a very high CPU load. I mean to remember that this job used to complete around 15 minutes after data collection phase. Restarting the application and rebooting the system didn't work.When we look in to the IC_Server.log, we find devices with a completion time of over 20'000 seconds. Increasing from day to day. [code]
Affected devices are Cisco Nexus 5548P. We tried to delete/add these devices. That works for a few days, then the runtime starts to increase again.
Are we hitting a bug? And is it possible, as a workaround, to exclude devices from only the Inventory Collection?
in LMS3.2.1 we have NMSRoot/log/syslog.log where syslogs are being logged actively from managed devices. i couldn't find the same in LMS4.2. I am configuring LMS4.2 from scratch and in the hope of making the trasition from old LMS3.2.1 to LMS 4.2, I am planning assigning the old LMSs IP to the new one. basically changing the IP address of LMS4.2.

I´ve edited the credentials and assigned the new set to that device. Now to test the snmpv3 credentials i´ve started an Device credential verification job an chose snmpv3 only. But every time the job failes with the error
Wrong Privacy Algorithm.

What I am attempting to do is setup snmpv3 on two failover 5510's .The problem I am running into, the snmp management software rejects one of the devices as it sees it as having a duplicate engine ID since the two devices share the same config. Would like to know how this would work in an active/active setup being able to poll both devices.
