I have 2 Procuve Switches one is 2650 were all the Department PC's & Wireless access points connected & second one is 2610 were i have the firewall connected,Active Directory & Windows DHCP Server
Switch 1- 2650
Ports
Port 1-16 is used by HR Department
Port17-32 is used by Finanace Department
Port 33-34 is used by Access Points
Port 41-48 is used by Users
Port 50 is used to uplink to switch 2610.What i wanted to achive is Isolcate Departments & Users & Access Points through VLAN from each other but they should be able to hit our Active directory for authentication, Firewall for internet & DHCP Server for IP's.
I have a cisco 2610 router connected to satellite modem (CDM-600). Cisco has NM-2W module with WIC-2T card, one port of this card is connected to modem via CAB-SS-530MT=, chassis WIC slot is filled with 2MFT-E1. Everything works fine for several hours. Then serial interface (connected to modem) goes down, and never comes up. I see following messages in the log. [code]
I purchased a Cisco 2621 with IOS Version 12.3(26) on it. When I went through the commands, I couldn't find any VLAN or VTP available. I need to make sure I can see this on the device in order for me be able configure VLAN on my network and get ready for my CCNA exam.
Below is the version on the device and I also attached the available commands: Version: IOS (tm) C2600 Software (C2600-I-M), Version 12.3(26), RELEASE SOFTWARE (fc2)
I have a Cisco ASA 5515-x, setup as my router with a split-tunnel SSL VPN for remote users.. It works great, except when connected via VPN I can only access the same subnet the ASA and HP switch reside on. My VLANs provided via my core HP 5406zl L3 switch are inaccessible. This must just be a simple routing issue, but between Cisco and HP I can not wrap my head around it.
Comcast---> Cisco ASA (VPN) 10.20.28.1 ---> HP (vlans)-----> VLAN 1 10.20.28.254 (Works fine over VPN), VLAN 45 -10.20.45.254 (No access over vpn), VLAN 99- 10.20.99.254 (No access over vpn)
Intervlan routing works great, I can access VLAN 99 from VLAN 1 and vise-versa. I have a route on the HP switch for 0.0.0.0 0.0.0.0 10.20.28.1 for internet access. On the Cisco I have a static route of 10.20.0.0 255.255.0.0 10.20.28.254. I believe my issue is that the HP requires your default gateway to be your VLAN IP for the intervlan routing to work. With my split tunnel SSL VPN, I do not believe it uses the correct routes.
Where and what routes do I need to add so that I can access the other VLANs when connected via VPN?I have a test environment setup and I am going to start testing by disabling split tunneling to see if I can access the other VLANs.
I have set up an ACL on my 3750 switch to deny icmp from PC A on our inside network to PC B on a different VLAN on our inside network using the following ACLs:
These ACLs belong to an access-list that also limits ip traffic to a few specific machines. When I try pinging from PC A I receive a reply message back from PC B. Shouldn't this configuration block any ICMP from PC A to PC B and from PC B to PC A? I would have expected the first ACL statement to block any packets associated with ICMP and when that didn't work I tried the second configuration.
I have a switched network of C2980 & C3548 switches with multiple VLANs. I would like to understand the difference between Multi- VLAN ports and trunk ports. What circumstances would dictate using one over the other? If I configure the router port as Multi- VLAN, does the router still require sub-interfaces?
I have a rather large Cisco Lab and 3 of the routers I have are Cisco 2650s. Well they are only able to take the IOS version 12.4M and 12.4T is only compatible with the XM series. So I was thinking what would happen if I threw the 12.4T on the device, well I was surprised but it boots and functions with that image. So here is the question, is this usable in a LAB environment (CCNA/CCNP studies ect) the thing that would worries me is the memory. It is recommended the 12.4T IOS has (I think) 196D/48F. Well the 2650 non-xm only supports 128D/32F. The IOS fits on the 32 Flash (with 300k to spare) though what issues can/will i see in the future?

I am looking after a mixed collection of Cisco and HP switches and use a Perl script to extract configuration data.I use the ifStackStatus table (OID: 1.3.6.1.2.1.31.1.2.1.3) from RFC1573 to sucesfully obtain the EtherChannel data from the Cisco switches but, though I do obtain data from the same table from the Procurve switches it seems to bear no resemblance to Link Agregation. I could look at other tables and may have to - but would like to use this one in order to simplify the code.
i am trying to daisy chain 2 pro-curve 1810g 8 port switches.i got the cable i need to connect them but i just want to know what kind of settings i have to change on the switches to have it run as best as it can.
I have a Cisco 2650 with a simple config as follows:
version 12.3 service timestamps debug datetime msec service timestamps log datetime msec no service password-encryption ! hostname MaVI_Test [Code]....
I am trying to connect two Asterisk Server (with DHCP server enabled on both) on a HP Pro Curve 2626 switch. Server A has IP address 192.168.2.1 and Server B has IP address 192.168.3.1. I created a two new VLAN on switch, VLAN2 for 192.168.2.0 network and VLAN3 for 192.168.3.1 network. I put the command "ip routing" on the switch. My goal is to be able to ping ip address from PC 1(VLAN2) to PC 2(VLAN3) and vice versa... I'm not sure what I am missing... By the way, there is NO ROUTER involved on this set up. I tried to Google and it says HP ProCurve 2626 is a Layer 3 switch so IP routing should be possible.
I want to use IP SLA to perform simple up/down monitoring of an IP host and to generate a syslog alert if the host goes down. I have a 2650XM router running 12.4(23) IP Voice IOS. My basic IP SLA config is hown below:
ip sla monitor 10 type echo protocol ipIcmpEcho 10.55.1.1 timeout 1000 frequency 10 ip sla monitor schedule 10 life forever start-time now.
I have a dell inspiron 2650 and I need to get into it thru my desktop because the inspiron has a virus and I was wondering if I can get rid of the virus with my virus protection
On my 2650 Router it just has only Telnet password. It has no enable mode password set. After reboot it is goes to prompt mode BB.I am unable to go to enable mode .how can i go back to enable mode on this router?

Right now i am able to access the router . whats this error about -- is router going to crash or reboot?
i recently bought and installed a working NM-16ESW into my cisco 2610.HOWEVER:i have tried different IOS's:c2600-ik9o3s-mz.122-46a.binc2600-io3-mz.122-46a.binc2600-io3-mz.123-26.bin and unfortunately non of those IOS versions works with the NM-16ESW.Heres my SHOW DIAG command:
I've got three Cisco 1721's and a 2610, two of the 1721's are 32f's, the other one is a bit older but is still the same model. The two Cisco 1721 32f's have 1-dsu-t1-v2 wics in them, and the older 1721 has a 1-dsu-t1 wic in it. Now no matter how i have configured it the old t1 wic will not talk to the v2 wic. I've tried putting the old wic into a 1721 32f and it doesn't work at all!
What i have working:
router DCE (1721 32f with v2 wic) can talk to router DTE (1721 32f with v2 wic) no problem with this configuration.
Router DCE:
-service-module t1 clock source internal -service-module t1 data-coding normal
[ code].....
Router DTE:
-service-module t1 clock source line -service-module t1 data-coding normal
[ code]....
Router OLD (1721 with v2 wic) can talk to router DTE (1721 32f with v2 wic) no problem with same config. What doesn't work: Any router with 1-dsu-t1 (old) wic to router DTE (1721 32f with v2 wic). again same configuration as before, so whats going on that i cant get this to work? Is the old t1 wic not compatible with the new t1 wic?
I am working at a client site today. The client has a large Frame Relay Hub Spoke network. The Hub is at the HQ location, and then there are about 15 spoke sites in remote offices.
We are having an issue with the frame between the HQ and one of the spokes. We are currently working with our dear friends at AT&T to troubleshoot the issue. AT&T yesterday was trying to run a local loop test to the router at the remote (spoke) end. We were working iwth them in trying to put the remote router (which we manage) into a loopback mode. We were trying to use controller commands
COOP-Rappahanock#conf t Enter configuration commands, one per line. End with CNTL/Z. COOP-Rappahanock(config)#controller ? % Unrecognized command COOP-Rappahanock(config)#controller
That we seem to run out of options...
How can we put the subinterface that is the other end fo the frame into loopback mode so that a local loop test can be done between us and AT&T (provider)?
I have a Cisco 2610 series router(Version 12.0(5)T1, c2600-i-mz.120-5.T1), which has a network module inserted. I would like to view the model of this network module. There are no "show inventory" or "show platform" commands. "Show version" doesn't list the network module as well. In addition, it appears to have a "show c2600" command, but this doesn't display any hardware information.
I have a home lab. I am trying to connect a 1710 to a 2610 with just using the fast ethernet ports. I understand that serial connections and t1 csu/dsu connections use clocking, etc. How can I configure FA ports to do the same AND be routable?
I'm looking to test fram relay connections in a lab environment i'm building at home. I have a couple of 2610 routers that are barebones and am looking to get some serial modules. Are (2) WIC-2T's all I would need to create those test connections? Also on a side note are the any modules for the 2610 that have fast ethernet connections. I would like to have that so I can create a router on a stick model off of the 2600's.
I have a Cisoc 2610 connected to my network, 1 Ethernet port and a WIC-2T card. I have ther serial connection to the main router and the ethernet going to the switch. I can ping all device throught the network...but the 2610 can't ping any outside address (no internet connection). I have the internet connection going through my 3745 (which the 2610 is connected to via serial cable). I put a default route into the 2610 but still no luck.
Here are the running configs:
2610: version 12.3 service timestamps debug uptime service timestamps log uptime
I'm working on my CCNA. I purchased an old router 2610 with two ethernet ports. I configured the IP addresses on the interfaces and added the default gateway. I configured NAT to go out my ATT DSL router to the internet. With the 2610, I'm able to ping the back end or internal DSL router, but I can't ping the front end, external router, or out to any internet site such as google.
