I have a cisco 2610 router connected to satellite modem (CDM-600). Cisco has NM-2W module with WIC-2T card, one port of this card is connected to modem via CAB-SS-530MT=, chassis WIC slot is filled with 2MFT-E1. Everything works fine for several hours. Then serial interface (connected to modem) goes down, and never comes up. I see following messages in the log. [code]

i have 2 routers with a switch and pc connected to the switch. i am working on RIP and i enabled it on both routers.
my current set up is this:

I am able to ping from pc to Router1. I am able to ping 4.2.2.2 and google from Router1 but unable to ping it from Router 2 and pc.

I have a CAB-OCT-V35-FC cable in my Cisco 7200 router and not all of them are utilized. I have to connect another site with a point to point leased line and I am planning to use one of the ports in my Cisco 7200 router which is using the CAB-OCT-V35-FC cable. My problem is both the cable end and the modem is V.35 female connector and both are DCE. I need to build a crossover cable of V.35 male to male which will connect the Cisco 7200 router and the modem.

This problem only occurs with my laptop (other laptops in the house are able to connect no problem) and with this particular wireless box (my laptop has no problems connecting and staying connected to other wireless networks, wi-fi, etc.).
I am able to connect to the wireless but it lasts only for a few minutes before connection is lost, so I basically have to connect to the internet through a ether cable (?) plugged into the wireless box.
I can't work out where the problem could be as the wireless works for other computers, and my computer works with other wireless networks!
I don't know if it matters but I am using a Toshiba satellite running on Windows 7.

We are having an issue with the frame between the HQ and one of the spokes. We are currently working with our dear friends at AT&T to troubleshoot the issue. AT&T yesterday was trying to run a local loop test to the router at the remote (spoke) end. We were working iwth them in trying to put the remote router (which we manage) into a loopback mode. There are no "show inventory" or "show platform" commands. "Show version" doesn't list the network module as well. View 2 Replies View RelatedMy desktop recently broke so i bought my first laptop. I have AT&T DSL and i bought a new D-Link DSL-2640B modem/router so i could have wireless internet. I installed it and i was able to use it with the ethernet cable, however when i tried to use wifi, it worked for only about 2 minutes before it disconnected.. Now when i try again it says that it is connected (full 5 bars) but it also says there is no internet access and i cannot use the internet.
Also, before, with the old modem i was able to just connect the ethernet cable to the laptop and just start using the internet. Now i have to connect by putting in my username and password provided by my ISP almost like if it was dial up. I don't know why i have to do this now but not before.

Everything is connected according to picture (cable to modem to router to computer), and my phone and computer are working properly. View 8 Replies View RelatedI am trying to test (if possible) the idea of having 2 6509-E switches connected directly to each other while using VRF-lite (Sup 2T). The idea is to have 3-4 separate networks. For example Net-A, Net-B,Net-C, Net-D. There is no PE router*, just these two switches. Also, there sin't any other access layer switches. All users connect directly to the 6509-E's via switch 48 port switch blades.
Net-A and Net-B on separate VRF's, but able to talk to each other. Net-C and Net-D* on separate VRF's without being able to talk to any other. Net-D* will have a PE since it comes from an external network. This is something I would like to test in a lab environment, but I am not familiar with VRF's.
So I have a Westell 7500 Modem/Router with Century Link DSL. I've been running a couple of laptops and my wifi enabled TV on the wireless. A few days ago I got a new desktop PC (Windows 7) and plugged the ethernet cable into it. Everything was great but the wireless was a bit slow for the TV so I plugged that in with an ethernet cable too. No problems for a few days. Today, we had a power blip and everything reset and I noticed that the internet light on the modem was solid red and I couldn't access the internet on any machine (ethernet or wifi). I called the ISP who said there was an outage in the area. A few hours later, solid green light on the modem BUT the TV (ethernet connected), my iphone, and my laptops could NOT connect, despite the network showing up with a full signal. Oddly, my new PC, connected via ethernet was fine so I played some Diablo (side note). Here's the deal: the new PC connects just fine but nothing else will. If I unplug the ethernet cable to the PC or disable the LAN connection, the red internet light appears on the modem. It seems as though the PC has hijacked the modem in some way. Even the TV won't connect with the ethernet cable. The only way the internet works now is if the modem is connected to the new PC. I've done all the resents - unplugged the modem and let it sit for 10-15 minutes, accessed the router settings, etc etc. Why would this start happening now after everything was working well for several days and how do I fix it? I need the wifi connection! Update: Plugged my Macbook Pro into the ethernet cable (took it out of new PC) and it works.

I have configured the Gi0/0 port of the router to plug into this DSL modem but it does not ping to the ISP gateway. If we do a shut/no shut on the interface then it work fine for about 30 secs. Sometimes even for 1 hr. Then the packets drop and we cannot pass any traffic through this interface.Now, if the ISP connection is terminated on a computer it works fine. It works fine without dropping any packet. I have tried various options like using a straight/cross cable. I have tried to configure the interface negotiation for 100/full, 100/half, auto/auto and almost all the options. I have also tried to interconnect the devices using a L2 device like a HUB. Nothing works.

1. Users dial in via ISDN PRI/BRI or POTS.
2. Users using PRI/BRI don't have a problem
3. Users using the POTS modem way are getting disconnected after approx 5 seconds
4. Debug shows a disconnect cause '0xF Loss of DTR'
5. The running config is exactly the same as that of a working 3725 (out of support that's why we're moving to 2911)
6. Only difference is in the AT Command set modem settings where registry S25 is set to 5 on the 2911 but 0 on the 3725
Problem I have is that when I change the registry setting on the PVDM it is accepted, but as soon as I disconnect my reverse telnet session from the line, it reverts back to the default of 5. How do I save the registry S25 setting so that it won't revert back?
I have changed the settings then carried out a at&w - which made no difference. I have also carried out the at&y0 after changing the settings but again, made no difference. I can't find anything on this page Link that shows how to save the settings (but then again, it could be I can't see the wood for the trees).
Every day for the past week my Internet access goes down. I have a netgear router connected to Comcast modem. I have to reset the modem then the router constantly and it gets irritating. I called comcast and they say reset them. But why should I have to constantly reset.... Sometimes I just ignore it and it comes back up later... what is going on??

My Toshiba laptop can't get connected to the wireless ADSL modem router TD-W8960N. I have 4 different laptops and one desktop, all connected to the router very well, only the Toshiba cannot get on Internet. I can connect to the wireless network on the laptop, but it shows limited access.
I was very happy working with my WRT610N connected to the ethernetport of my previous internet modem. Recently I had to switch to a new modem CISCO EPC3925. Unfortunately this combination does not work anymore. I don't get an internet connection on my WRT610N anymore. I therefore have to connect all computers (LAN and WIFI) to this EPC3925. Especially for the WIFI I'm not fully happy. My IPAD2 sometimes does not want to connect, a problem which never occurred when connecting to WRT610N.
I probably need to change a setting, but where? In the EPC3925 or in WRT610N?
