View 1 RepliesI just bought a HP Pavilion h9. I enjoyed surfing and gaming for a few days when my wireless decided to disappear (when my brother was using it. He can't remember what he was doing when the problem occured)There seems to be nothing wrong with the router (an AirPort Extreme) since all the 4 of my households laptops can "see" and connect without problems.I've been trying to update my 802.11n WLAN card and other basic stuff, such as restoring to the day before the issue occurred.

Tried unplugging the wireless card and plugging back in. Made sure I have latest drivers. Disabled and enable the card.I then tried plugging in an external belkin adapter in the usb and that worked. There are 2 other PC's in the house and they are both connecting to the internet fine. But I tested an old laptop we have and that didn't pick up the router either.I went on the pc in the other room next to mine and tried changing the channel it was on from 12 to 5 and it actually worked now my pc can find my router (???)But we've been having alot of issues lately with bad internet on certain channels etc.I don't really understand why channel 5 would work but channel 12 doesnt? We are experiencing more latency on that channel too.

View 5 Replies View RelatedI have not yet confirmed that this is a hardware issue but I'm pretty sure it is. I was suspecting that it was and issue with SP3 or a driver issue however it is doing the same thing always now. It will turn on and detect wireless networks but when I go to connect the connection box simply stays on "waiting for the network" then just stops. No faults or warnings. This happens with any network.
I stopped using the wireless a few months ago when it would randomly disconnect for any network. The thing just would not stay connected. Just used LAN. I have tried several different drivers and even a complete image restore. It really does seem like a hardware issue. Now I can pick up a new card for pretty cheap but I just want to if this is a common problem.
I have a Cisco ASA 5515-x, setup as my router with a split-tunnel SSL VPN for remote users.. It works great, except when connected via VPN I can only access the same subnet the ASA and HP switch reside on. My VLANs provided via my core HP 5406zl L3 switch are inaccessible. This must just be a simple routing issue, but between Cisco and HP I can not wrap my head around it.
Comcast---> Cisco ASA (VPN) 10.20.28.1 ---> HP (vlans)-----> VLAN 1 10.20.28.254 (Works fine over VPN), VLAN 45 -10.20.45.254 (No access over vpn), VLAN 99- 10.20.99.254 (No access over vpn)
Intervlan routing works great, I can access VLAN 99 from VLAN 1 and vise-versa. I have a route on the HP switch for 0.0.0.0 0.0.0.0 10.20.28.1 for internet access. On the Cisco I have a static route of 10.20.0.0 255.255.0.0 10.20.28.254. I believe my issue is that the HP requires your default gateway to be your VLAN IP for the intervlan routing to work. With my split tunnel SSL VPN, I do not believe it uses the correct routes.
Where and what routes do I need to add so that I can access the other VLANs when connected via VPN?I have a test environment setup and I am going to start testing by disabling split tunneling to see if I can access the other VLANs.
how should I connect my laptop Dell Inspiron 9300 with the connection at my house!
View 1 Replies View RelatedI am looking after a mixed collection of Cisco and HP switches and use a Perl script to extract configuration data.I use the ifStackStatus table (OID: 1.3.6.1.2.1.31.1.2.1.3) from RFC1573 to sucesfully obtain the EtherChannel data from the Cisco switches but, though I do obtain data from the same table from the Procurve switches it seems to bear no resemblance to Link Agregation. I could look at other tables and may have to - but would like to use this one in order to simplify the code.

I put the command "ip routing" on the switch. My goal is to be able to ping ip address from PC 1(VLAN2) to PC 2(VLAN3) and vice versa... I'm not sure what I am missing... By the way, there is NO ROUTER involved on this set up. I tried to Google and it says HP ProCurve 2626 is a Layer 3 switch so IP routing should be possible.

I installed my brand new TP-Link router and both wired and wireless internet connection work perfectly fine. But when I tried to secure the wifi with a password (I followed the instructions on last page of installation guide) I can not connect to the internet any more. After entering the correct password, both iphone and mac-book simply say "unable to join the network". I selected WPA2-PSK-personal as recommended. For now I switched off the security settings, but I live in a building with many neighbours and they are now consuming most of my bandwidth (apparentlyI am surrounded by illegal downloaders
I have a E4200 v1, connected with a few PCs by ethernet ports and various devices by wifi. Now the wireless devices work perfectly but sometimes the PC via ethernet ports cannot connect to LAN and internet.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI've been having major issues with my wireless on this computer (randomly decides not to work while computers in the same room are fine) so I got a new wireless card to see what it could do. Installed it, everything says it's installed fine, but it will NOT detect any wireless networks. Not just mine, any of the 8+ networks I can usually detect from my room. I'm on Win7 Professional 64.
Things I've tried (and I'll be seriously annoyed if people reccomend doing them a 14th time, as I've already spent an hour on livechat with a support person telling me to do things I told her I'd already done):
Installed with 4 different drivers (the ones on the CD, the ones on the website, two versions directly from Ralink for the chipset) Tried both the manual and automatic "update driver" options in device manager. Uninstalled/reinstalled it like 4 times. Moved it to a new PCI slot.
Removed the old adapter before installing it. Removed the old adapter after installing it. Tried connecting to my network as a "hidden" network (which it's not). Installed only the driver and not the adapter utility, and used the utility. Installed the software before physically installing the adapter. Installed it after physically installing the adapter.
I'm at a loss. It doesn't detect ANY networks. No, it's not a problem with my network, there's more than a half dozen that my other adapter, in the same computer, can detect. And I don't know why. It has not ever worked properly. The antennae are on properly, nothing is interfering with it (though that would be odd since it's 3 inches from an adapter that can detect other networks). I might be willing to accept that it's just DoA, but that would be odd considering it installs just fine and reports that it's working just fine.
I updated the Firmware...then the WRT54GC can't work now,it's power led green and red always,I can't ping 192.168.1.1 via wired or wireless.wireless led shutdown.my laptop can't find any wireless network.
View 9 Replies View RelatedI recently bought myself the E4200v1 router, and have had several issues with it. One issue I cannot seem to find a workaround for is the wifi bandwidth problem.I have a 100/10 mbitl internet connection. The router claims to support 300/450 mbit speeds over wifi, so that should be plenty. in reality however, that isnt so.Even though my N-standard wifi adapter on my machine states it has a 130 mbit connection to the router, I consistently test the internet throughput when using wifi and speedtest.net to around 20-21 mbit. If I put in a cable, I instantly get full speed, 100/10 mbit.
Have to add; I am not new to the networking game, I have a CCNA and a degree in computer sciences, and work with hosting web sites using cloud tech every day. At this point, I have tried everything related to settings on the router, so I can only conclude that there's some kind of bug in the firmware. I would expect the standard firmware to work, and not having to install DDWRT or other custom firmware.
I bought a Sonos multiroom-system, and connected the first player to my E2000 router through Ethernet. It then gets a dynamic address through DHCP, I can see the Sonos within the network when looking in the admin tool of the router. When I start the Sonos controller software on my PC (XP), the software can not find the Sonos when my PC is connected through Wifi.As soon as I connect PC to the router with ethernet cable the Sonos is found immediately and can be initialised. After that, I can disconnect the cable and control the Sonos wirelessly. (as long as I don't close down the controller software for too long)
From what I understood from the sonos.com website, the Sonos sends an UPnP multicast signal on port for SSDP on port 1900 for initial connection. Further communications port are described below.Somehow, this multicast package seems not to be transferred into the wireless LAN, only into the wired LAN. Do I have to open some ports, filter some ports?Forward them?
