Hook Up Dell Inspiron 2650 Laptop To Desktop Computer?
Aug 9, 2011
I have a dell inspiron 2650 and I need to get into it thru my desktop because the inspiron has a virus and I was wondering if I can get rid of the virus with my virus protection
I'm trying to find out what is the best way is to hook up my XPS 410 desktop to stream movies to my Sony Bravia HD TV. The PC is not wireless nor does it appear to have a HDML connection. I have a cable connection which runs the PC.
I formatted my dell 8300 desktop but now I cannot hook up to the internet, there is no local area connection icon. Not sure what I did wrong or what to do to be able to install.
I have a Dell Inspiron desktop with Dell Wireless 1506 802.11b/g/n card. This PC is fairly new - purchased in October 2012. Most of the time the wireless connection is fine, although the signal is weaker than it should be (about 2 bars). Occasionally however the wireless signal drops to one bar or less, or is completely lost. The result is loss of internet connection. Restarting the PC will often restore the connection, although the signal level remains low. This is very surprising as other 802.11b/g laptops and PCs, sitting on the same desk in the same room, will show a strong wireless signal of 4-5 bars. I have measured the wireless network strength in that room using a laptop with inSSIDer and it seems just fine. So I don't believe the problem is in the wifi signal strength.
The wireless access point is a Motorola surfboard b/g cable modem that is located about 25 feet from the Dell PC. That cable modem is reporting excellent signal levels on the coaxial cable to the street, so the problem is not in the access point. Connection speed when tested from other PCs/laptops on that network is just fine.
I am wondering if there is some sort of intermittent hardware problem in the Dell wireless adapter that might be causing this problem. Or some sort of software conflict.
I have a Dell Inspiron 530s desktop running Vista SP2. When I attempt to get online using a cable or a wireless USB adapter I get a self-assigned IP Address. When I manually add an IP and DNS addresses I can't get online also. I have removed my security software (webroot) and have disabled Windows Firewall. The same ethernet connection works on another one of my computers fine.
I have laptop or desktop both computers and i want to share my desktop matter in my laptop or laptop matter in my desktop without using any modem by the using of a simple cores cable? how i can handle it..
I have a Linksys wireless G Router (WRT54G5 model) and I've recently had some problems with it. First problem, I cant find my wireless network from my desktop, but it shows up on my laptop but it wont let me access it from there. The power, wlan, port 1, and internet led lights are all on and green. How can I get my wireless network to show up on my desktop and how can I access it from my laptop? If I unplug my router for 30 seconds and plug it.
In the past few weeks, my desktop's wireless connection has become impossibly slow and laggy. It takes long times to load and routinely drops or stutters in its connection, which makes online gameplay very inefficient if not impossible. Prior to this, it was running fine.My wife's netbook and my work laptop both run normally and fine off the connection. The ping rates for those computer, tested at the exact same time as my desktop, are both good while my desktop's ping and jitter are horrible. So I have the feeling it is not really a networking issue, but more something with the wireless card or another issue with my desktop itself. My computer is a Dell Inspiron 531, probably about 3 years old, which as I mentioned ran fine with the wireless before. I am running Vista. In the past several months, the computer fan would kick in really hard and often at graphically intense moments though it doesn't do it any more (yes, it is still running at normal speed), so I'm not sure if the card itself was overheated and damaged? Since the others run fine?
I have an elderly Dell Dimension 5150 desktop computer. It should have wireless capability. I purchased a wifi usb 2.0 adapter, but have been unable to set it up following on-screen instructions.Running Win XP Home edition.I have reason to believe that OS may have been comprimised by a virus previously; that is why I set it aside. Now I am attempting to reactivate it.The OS seems to work normally, but I need internet access to confirm this.
I have a functioning wifi router in my house; it works normally with two other computers.I am attempting to confirm if the Win XP OS needs to be replaced before purchase. How can I confirm the OS is shot and I must purchase a new one?

My mom wants to buy my dad a Kindle Fire for Christmas. Currently they have a desktop computer with a modem plugged into it and use Verizon dsl for their internet. The Kindle needs wi-fi and I don't want to disrupt the way their computer is set up now.Do I simply plug the router into the modem to get the wi-fi signal?
where to install a bluetooth module on my 11z laptop,l have the module but cant find anything on the web about where it goes and how to get it working.
My grandma has a Dell Inspiron 1520 running Win XP and has a Dell Wireless 1505 Draft 802.11n W LAN Mini-Card. The other day I reformatted her computer for her to clean things up and since then I have been unable to connect to the internet. Her computer will recognize the wireless network and connect to it but after a few minutes of trying to authenticate network address it will pop up a little window that says "limited or no connectivity." I've read countless forums on the internet using my computer and have come to the realization that it's an invalid ip address. In one post I read someone provided an ip address, subnet mask, default gateway, and a preferred DNS server code that I typed in which then showed that I was connected with wifi but still says authenticating on the WLAN card.
I have a Dell Inspiron 1501 laptop. I have a problem accessing my home network which is not showing up under the "Connect to a Network " list. I am able to see my neighbours' networks and can access my own network with my phone, tablet etc. The driver is up to date according to Windows and is functioning correctly. I reinstalled the OS yesterday and the wireless was working fine last night. To the best of my knowledge, nothing has been altered.
I have a Dell Inspiron 15R laptop. I can connect to the internet with excellent connectivity but it still shows "No Internet Access". I have been struggling since last 2 days to resolve this issue so have gone through various forums to find a solution but none worked. Here are the things that I have already tried:1. Restarted / Reset my modem.2. ipconfig / release and renew.3. Deselect IPv6.4. net stop and start for winhttpautoproxysvc and dhcp client.5. Turn off McAfee firewall.6. Reset network adapter settings.I can connect to internet in "safe mode with networking" but not in normal mode.In fact, I can connect to the same wi-fi using my smartphone. Somebody suggested me that it could be a dnschanger virus attack. I checked that also and it's not that virus.
Its a Dell Inspiron comp with Windows 7 & a BT buisness Hub router/modem,When searching for available wifi several come up in box as normal but his own router name comes up but there is a red cross where the rest have the usual green signal strength bars. When you hover over router name it says "this computer settings are not compatable" His router appears to be working as both him and myself coneccted our phones through it OK.
I have a dell inspiron 8000 with windows xp installed on it. My laptop is using an adapter to connect to the internet. My question is how can i share the connection on my laptop so that my phone and other devices are able to connect to the laptop's internet.

bought a new Dell Inspiron 15R laptop online and received it today.
It has Windows 8 preloaded, I am not able to connect to my WiFi network, while I am able to connect using my other devices.
The WiFi network in getting detected and the signal strength is full as well, when I give the password and click connect, it tries to verify and connect for a long time, finally say "Can't connect to this network".
I have a three year old Inspiron 1545. About a month ago the computer stopped detecting the wifi at home. It never had this problem before, and the other household laptop and iPhone had no problem detecting and getting onto the the wifi. The problematic laptop will connect to the net via wire. I get a red x over the connection icon, and when I put the cursor over the icon, a message reads "connection status unknown: the dependency service or group failed to start."

I cAn get a connection at my moms house and it works just fine but any where else it can't find an ip adress. I've gone to start>run>cmd>ipconfic then I go type in that ip and it connects but won't let me connect on a browser or messenger.
