thats all and exactly what is displayed on the console screen the device is none responsive.
I have a Cisoc 2610 connected to my network, 1 Ethernet port and a WIC-2T card. I have ther serial connection to the main router and the ethernet going to the switch. I can ping all device throught the network...but the 2610 can't ping any outside address (no internet connection). I have the internet connection going through my 3745 (which the 2610 is connected to via serial cable). I put a default route into the 2610 but still no luck.

I'm working on my CCNA. I purchased an old router 2610 with two ethernet ports. I configured the IP addresses on the interfaces and added the default gateway. I configured NAT to go out my ATT DSL router to the internet. With the 2610, I'm able to ping the back end or internal DSL router, but I can't ping the front end, external router, or out to any internet site such as google.

Is there a "Show" command to give me this information or did it only come one way? I have found conflicting information on this :-( If it's only 10BASE-T, can I upgrade it to 10/100?

Laptops on each port with 10.10.10.2 and 10.10.11.2 configured on them. I can ping from 10.10.10.2 to 10.10.11.1, but not to 10.10.11.2.What do I have to configure to be able to get the 2 laptops to talk to each other?
issue with their ASA version 8.4.2 code? I loaded this code on my beta ASA last week and have seen it "hang" twice since the upgrade. The previous versions of 8.3 and 8.4 code on this same ASA did not have this issue.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI just found out that one of our 10 3750's has been assigned with an IP Address that is in conflict with a PC that has been in production long before this 3750 was deployed in our environment. Good thing it is servicing devices on a separate vlan. The conflict IP Address is assigned to the default vlan of the switch so we can connect to it from the core.If I change the IP Address of the switch, will it reboot and momentarily disconnect the devices connected to it?
View 14 Replies View RelatedI have a /28 subnet between my internal and external firewalls for L3 connectivity. On our internal firewall, I have a default route for internet traffic pointing to the external firewall (10.10.1.2).
We will be inserting a web filter appliance as indicated on the diagram. The appliance requires an IP address to be assigned to the LAN interface.
What is the best way to accomplish this with minimal impact? Will my default route on my internal firewall have to change to the IP of the web appliance if I address the web appliance on the 10.10.1.x subnet?Should I address the web appliance on the 10.10.1.x subnet to begin with, or create a vlan on the 2960 and a L2 interface on one of the firewalls?
I have one specific trouble with Catalyst 3560CG switch and Stardom reserved industrial controller. Controller has 2 processors, one of them after(!) negotiation become main with IP 192.168.1.1, other one stays in reserve with IP 192.168.1.129. If main one shuts down, spare one becomes main with IP 192.168.1.1. This perfectly works with DLINK and MOXA level 2 switches, but fails with Catalyst 3560, because spare one cannot even connect to switch port. I don't know the exact reason of it, but i suspect, that it happens because of before negotiation both controllers have ip 192.168.1.1 (i know, that it is wrong and weird, but so it goes). First of them correctly connects to switch port, which goes up and passes pings. Second processor tries to connect to switch port, which goes several times up and very soon down, then processor lefts his tries to connect to anybody and become idle. The switch seems to some way check IPs of 1-st and 2-nd port packets, and shuts down 2-nd port. I have connected via hyperterminal and tried to disable some level 3 functions and checks of the switch, but this wasn't useful. how exactly(or at least approximately) should i configure a switch to make this bundle work?

It seems the difference between using my computer and the 2911 is that with my computer I am able to set the default gateway as the end node's ip.

View 4 Replies View Relatedwe've given up on the 4410n. we have two of them, one at the front of our office, one at the back (we have a floor in a highrise in san francisco). the one at the rear of the office - version one hardware, has never had any trouble. it just runs and runs and runs, has been up in the false ceiling for more than a year now. the one at the front of the office started giving us trouble within months of installation. not passing traffic. took it down from the false ceiling and kept it on my desk. staff got in the habit of just power cycling it when the first person showed up in the morning, since it always locked up overnight. RMA'ed it, got a version 2 hardware unit. seemed better initially - but it was faking it. same problems. going unresponsive overnight. gave up.
bought a $40 TrendNet AP. not a single problem in the month it's replaced the 4410N.
better quality hardware at less than 1/4th the price. wow. never buying a cisco WAP again.

My company is composed of three different campuses, all with a similar network topology. We currently are experiencing high bandwidth on our serial interface at one of the campuses in particular. The network is composed of about 20 VLANS routed internally using a Cisco 6509. Traffic to the outside is PAT’d by an ASA 5510 and then forwarded through our edge router interface. Each VLAN is PAT’d to a specific public address.Due to the PAT, how would you recommend determining what specific private addresses are consuming our resources on the serial interface. When I look at our NMS, it reports the public address, but that only narrows it down to a VLAN. For example, all the devices in VLAN 6 are translated to 146.34.118.245, and 146.34.11.245 is a top talker.

But i am not able to ping the device from 2960 switch alone. I suspected and checked the arp table and it was showing as incomplete. I created the manual arp entry and tried pinging but no luck.

As I understood, the only L3 catalyst that is able to perform NAT is a 6500? Is that correct? If the above is correct, it seems I can only replace the setup by using a router/ASA with a L2 switch. A router with high throughput (+/- 300Mbps) is hard to find, especially as NAT will require CPU resources...
So, my best (affordable price) solution is getting an ASA5520 (450Mbps FW throughput) and a L2 switch?
I work for a small business of five computers. We have a wireless network for internet traffic, and a wired network for file sharing. The wireless network works great for using the internet, but we are having trouble with the wired network.The issue is being able to communicate with all of the computers on the wired network. The ability to speak with all of the computers on the network is hit or miss. Generally, computer A can speak with computer B, C, and D, but D can only speak with A.

Did some research, and a ALFA AWUS036h USB adapter looked like the one, good reviews.When I first plugged in and loaded software, it worked great as far as seeing 10-12 connections, and even showed as connected with strong signal on one open/allowed connection, but wasn't connected.Seems like the software doesn't run good, worked at first and I had netstumbler installed and 8-10 stations were showing there also,but after a reboot had no stations on mfg software, none on netstumbler, and never would show stations on XP Zero config., seemes the software got screwy after reboot.

The problem is that when I'm downloading torrents, sometimes DIR-655 becomes unanswerable, no Internet connection and I can't access the config page. The only way to solve this, is to restart the router.

I am running XP pro. I have checked thoroughly for viruses/malware/etc. and everything appears to be clean. I have up to date drivers for NIC's, have cleared all temp data, done basically everything that the first tier Time Warner Cable(my ISP) tech support people will tell you to do as they read from that frustrating script we're all too familiar with and have had to deal with time and time before, including resetting modem and router, bypassing router, etc. etc. et bloody cetera.Ran several pings to a variety of servers and noticed ping spikes every 10or so seconds into the 300-600 range from an average of about 20-30ms.

I have had problems with this laptop ever since i recieved it, i have an old laptop with a worse card which picks up my signal perfectly fine and the speed and signal stays constant. With this inspiron 1545 with a "even better" wireless card i have many problems:,losing signal,poor signal strength and quality,speeds going from decent to slower than dial up,I will be checking this as often as possible.
View 19 Replies View RelatedI have a 512MB USB Flash device and was able to boot the IOS on the C2960 from it.After that i tried to Copy the IOS file from the USB to the system flash, but it could not find the USB Device.At plugging in the device the systems tells me: "Transfer type 2 not supported" I configured the USB device in NTFS and FAT both are able to boot with the ROMMON, but the normal system does not accept them and i know i can do the copy over a TFTP from my laptop, but it is strange that rommon accepts the usb device and the system does not?

which does not match reality : No one was configuring Vlans.
I have a c3560 that on Port 1 I can not get any device to talk to the DHCP server.Previously there was a client connected to this port however over the weekend he stated he lost connectivity.
In my troubleshooting I have connected that client to another port and now he is good to go...I connected my laptop and tried to connect to the network however I could not.I checked the logs and did not see anything that lead me to think it was having problems.
Is there another way to shut this down and hopefully start it back up without having to restart the entire switch?
