View 3 Replies View RelatedWe have a design of two 6509 running in a VSS with dual supervisor each having fthree 10/100/1000mb etherner modules. We have diagnosed a wierd problem that none of the switchports in module 1 and 2 on either switches are having layer2/layer 3 connectivity.
Tried everything from changing the cables to changing the end device but no luck with it.
Module results show pass and no errors in the logging.
I found a bug in Embedded Event Manager, on Catalyst 4500-E platform with supervisor V-10GE, on various IOS releases (in particular 12.2-50-SG IP BASE w/o crypto, 12.2-54-SG1 IP BASE w/o crypto, but also other releases included latest 15.0-2-SG1 ENTERPRISE SERVICES SSH).The problem is that when you set up a EEM applet that monitors syslog pattern matching, and you also configure remote host logging *with* the option "sequence-num-session", when the match occurs, the switch reboots with message:
Sw (sometimes prints a number instead)
VECTOR D00
and in some cases performs a second reboot with message:
VECTOR 0
DOUBLE FAULT
The reload reason message is:
System returned to ROM by abort at PC 0x0
The problem does *not* occur if remote logging has not the option "sequence-num-session". I verified this behavior on various configurations (included our production 130K long *and* factory defaults after erase startup-config).The configuration statements that cause reload are, for expample:
event manager applet prova
event syslog pattern %SYS-5-CONFIG_I
action 1.0 puts "configurazione modificata"
!
logging host 172.30.10.1 sequence-num-session

View 1 Replies View RelatedI enabled the "no service password-recovery" command on my C2960 switch. All seems to work as discribed. Only issue I have is --- which show command is used to reveal if the password-recovery feature is enabled of disabled as the command doesn't show up in the running config after you enable it ?
NOTE: The command does show up in the C2960 switch in config t mode (unlike the IOS router 2800 series), but doesn't show up in the running-config after you enable or disable it.
On the 2800 series routers (latest IOS) in config t mode the command does not show up but if you type "no service passowrd-recovery" the command function correctly and it does list it in the running configuration.

I find it a useful command on the 6500 to spot high traffic flows.
I have been working on some Catalyst 3750's running 12.2(55)SE6 and hit an issue with CEF load-balancing over multiple equal-cost paths. Anyway this issue is now solved but it introduced me to the command 'show platform forward' - this shows you how the forwarding of a packet would be done via hardware cef (as opposed to the command 'sho ip cef exact-route' command that only shows the software cef path). Anyway I tried the command on a 3560G running 15.0(2)SE and it crashes the switch. I tried it a couple of times and verified that the MAC & IP addresses were exactly right in the command and each time the switch crashes. I have extracted the relevant bits from the crashinfo and attached them.

when use the skydata ,the PC2 speed can reach 10mbps.when use the FTP , the PC2 only can reach 1.2mbps. why?
I can use Putty to SSH into my new switch (Directly connected to my laptop with ethernet cable), but I cant log into my switch.

It doesnt like my password, but I have only set 1 password (king) on this switch. I've configured 3 other switches with SSH and had no problem. Been trouble shooting for awhile and It'd be great if I could have a 2nd set of eyes take a peek, Also, my running config is attached.
How would I go about stacking 4 Cisco Catalyst 2960-48PST-L switches? The one switch needs to accept a fiber connection from a distribution switch. Do I have to buy flexstack module and cables? If so where does the module go on the switch? If this switch cannot do this set up, any other switch I should look at.

I have 4 Catalyst 2960 connected via Etherchannel to each other. If I plug in my notebook in one port, I see the traffic from the neighbor port. So my switch acts like a hub.. I had a look at my MAC table and saw it isn't full.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have a Cisco Catalyst 2960 with IOS Release12.2(53)SE (because of a contract I can not update it) -> the release notes for this version describe the following:
When auto-QoS is enabled on the switch, priority queuing is not enabled. Instead, the switch uses shaped round robin (SRR) as the queuing mechanism. The auto-QoS feature is designed on each platform based on the feature set and hardware limitations, and the queuing mechanism supported on each platform might be different. There is no workaround.
