Lose internet connection at least once a day. Each time regaining by unplugging power cord for approx. 10-12 seconds. Is this a router failure and maybe needs replacing or ?
View 2 RepliesI have a disconnecting problem with my WRT120N (Linksys) wireless router. Sometimes all wireless devices lose the connection to the internet, and the access to the router administration page (192.168.1.1) becomes impossible. In this case LEDs of power, internet and wireless are lighting without flashing. This problem usually occurs every 48 hour, and there was no way to make a reconnection except turning the router off by unplugging the power wire and plug it again…

My computers will not connect through to the internet. It's not the modem, because if I connect my desktop directly to the modem, it connects fine (which is how I'm typing this now), but if I plug in the router, my desktop and my laptop (wireless) will show they're connected to the network, but that there is no internet connection available. Support won't troubleshoot because I've had my router 1 year and 10 days (which I think is a crock of **bleep**) and the "Guide Me" thing is just running me around in circles. I'm so pissed off I'm about to throw the router through a window and buy another (*NON*-Linksys) router, rather than pay $30 for one time tech support (which, with my luck, the same thing would happen again in 3 months, and the same directions wouldn't work then). I've done a factory reset, and set up the router from scratch, done a firmware upgrade, everything, but it still won't connect

View 1 Replies View RelatedI do love your products and I am not just sucking your *beep*, but could you please update the firmware on this modem (DPC 3008). There are a lot of people that are having issues with losing their internet connection when it comes to this modem. It doesn't matter who the ISP is, doesn't matter what we try to do to fix this. I read somewhere that after you updated the firmware in 2011 on this modem is when your customers starting having issues. Now I just bought this modem a few weeks ago so I don't know for sure. All I can say is if this issue doesn't get resolved, I am going to smash the *beep* out of it and never recommend your products to anyone as well as never purchase another product from you. I like you I really do, but I am tried of losing my internet connection when I am playing my games or watching movies. People have stated that they removed your modem for a different brand and their issues were resolved. I am giving you a chance to show me that you value your customers and you will resolve this issue in a timely manner

My Samsung Blu-ray player is connected firectly via ethernet cable to the router. When it's on, I lose all conenctivity to the router with my wireless devices including three PC's, a PS3, two iPhones, one iPad, one Samsung Smart TV, one XBOX 360 and an Onkyo Receiver. When I say that I lose connectivity, I don't mean that I lose access to the Internet. My PC's see the network but cannot connect to it, the same goes for the Apple devices. The moment I shut off the Samsung BD player it kicks right back on and works normally. Until today, this never occurred.
I contacted Tech Support and they had never heard of this happening before. They suggested that I change the ethernet cable which I did while the unit was on and it worked until I turned the BD player off and turned it back on again. I also tried switching ports to no avail. Alos all of the software is up to date on both the router and the BD player.
I have a WRT54G2 v1 (no new firmware available) with a cable-modem connection (Motorola Surfboard), every thing works perfect but when my ISP goes down and then back up I cannot get the router work, LAN or Wifi connection. I have ping response to the router and I'm also able to get into the admin page. The only way to recover is restarting the router and sometimes releasing DHCP and then Renewing it, and the Wan connection actually gets the same IP it had before.

I called AT&T but as part of their diagnostics, I have to plug the modem directly into the PC. About two weeks ago, my router began dropping connection throughout the day. Sometimes it happens 3+ times in an hour. Other times it works for several hours before it drops.I upgraded the firmware as one fix and did a hard reset of the router. Still drops connection.I changed the MTU to 1400 and it worked fine for several hours but then dropped again the next morning. Also, like others on the forums, when I changed the MTU and hit Save Changes, it just ran and ran, never timed out...but never showed that it finished the command to save (if you get my meaning).I downloaded the Cisco Wireless Magic program to troubleshoot. It tells the same thing everytime. Unplug your router for 10 seconds and start over...My PC sometimes flashes a warning when I am restarting the router that I am getting Limited or NO Connectivity.
View 7 Replies View RelatedI have 2 laptops and 1 desktop all connected to the same router, the 2 laptops are connected via wifi and the desktop PC is currently connected via an Ethernet cable, both laptops run windows 7 while the desktop runs windows XP and more or less every time the desktop is booted after a few minutes of normality connection to the internet is lost and the yellow triangle on windows 7 appears so to fix this I have to go into my routers settings via 192.168.1.1 and reboot which then solves the problem and all machines function as they should including the desktop.

View 2 Replies View RelatedMy router has been dropping the internet connection for years. The ethernet connection to the desktop works fine all the time. The problem is only with the wireless connection. About every 1/2 hour or so the router will drop the wireless connection and neither or my 2 laptops can find the network. Unplugging the router and replugging it in solves the problem temporarily, until it drops it again. I updated the firmware to 1.0.4 and that yielded no changes.

I have this router back in my home office for my wife's Mac laptop. I recently purchased a new Sony TV with internet access capability and was hoping to gain access through my router, however during set-up attempt it will not connect. My wife is able to use her laptop in the same area as the TV.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI have a WRT54G2 router and when I try to connect to the internet, both wired and wirelessly, my network icon gives me a "No Internet Access" yellow sign icon. I have successfully connected to the internet by directly connecting to the modem and I have connected to other wireless networks using this computer so I have pretty much narrowed the problem down to the router. I have already perform a firmware upgrade to the latest version and did a hard reset of the router and setting it back up, to no avail. One problem I ran into while I was setting up though was that I can't even set it up with the WiFi-protected setup so I had to set up the password and stuff manually, as I have always done successfully in the past. I've never had a problem with this router in the past and so I think this router may be due for a replacement. I have contacted support through live chat and all the options they're giving me is either pay $25 to talk to someone about this or go through troubleshoot section.

But this last week, when ever I wake my monitor up after it's power saving mode kicks in, I lose my internet connection for about 15 seconds. If you look at the router before the monitor is on, I am connected. The light is on for port 1. But as soon as my monitor gets turned back on, it light just turns off and will reconnect after about 15 seconds. I've looked it up online and can only find things about when the entire system wakes up, and usually those people have to reboot their entire system to get a connection again, or turn the router off then back on. Using Windows 7?

WRT54G2 router has been working great since I got it a year ago. But recently I'm experiencing really slow wireless speed. My normal speed is around 15 Mbps but now it has dropped to about 0.85 - 1.0 Mbps. At first I thought someone might be using my connection without my knowledge so I changed the password but it was still slow. I then changed my wireless channel (I heard that if too many people are on the same channel it can cause interference) and it worked. However, a little bit later (sometimes a few hours and sometimes a few days) my connection would become slow again. I have also tried upgrading my firmware but no luck.

I have a WAG160N with firmware V1.00.16 (version 1 device).The router is connected via ethernet to my main iMac running Lion 10.7.2, although the issue's I'm having have occurred for some time before upgrading to Lion or its's latest update.Firstly, devices I connect to the router wirelessly such as my iPad and iPhone will allow me to use the internet on said devices for about ten minute then the internet will simply stop. The device is shown as connected (checking the wifi settings on iPad etc show the router is still seen). If I switch WI-FI off on the device, then back on, internet is restored. It's not an internet provider issue as I can use the net all day on my ethernet-connected iMac without a problem.My printer is connected to my iMac via USB and shared with other devices. It is seen on my Macbook which connects wirelessly via the router. If I try to print from the macbook, the print job will not progress until I re-start the router. Likewise, there are applications that I sync between my ipad and iMac via iTunes with my mac connected via the USB cable. The iPad will not bee seen by the iMac unless I re-start the router. My Apple TV will only sync wirelessly with the iMac if I re-start the router.

The computer will say "Connected, No Internet Access" In order to fix it I have to unplug the router and then plug it back in. This happens to any computer that tries to get online from a cold start-up. The router must always be unplugged, then plugged back in, then it will have internet access (and will generally maintain it throughout the session and even if the computer is restarted, i.e. warm boot). I have downloaded the latest firmware uprade.

I was involved with unpacking and seting up the equipment to get client up and running. I have never setup a firewall before, and after contacting Draytek, they guided to get BT infinity, 5510 to talk so that the server was able to get onto the internet.
