View 3 RepliesSo i tried to update firmare for FW_WRT54G2V1.5_1.5.02.005_US_20120221
and router just lost its connection. No i cant get access not via wifi nor ethernet to 192.168.1.1
I just have power led blinking. Tried to reset for 30 sec, no luck
I bought wrt54g2 several years ago and everything worked fine until this week. I got trouble with this router now.All the computers at my home couldn't access to this router even just connect to router's setup page at 192.168.1.1. The only way go to setup page through LAN Cable .I'm afraid maybe there's interference channel with my neighbor, then I did some change to router channel already, but the result same. I still couldn't access to the router through WIFI
Fyi, I did upgrade the firmware with the latest one and all the computers distance to the router not more then 5 m and in the clear area
I have a WRT54G2 router and when I try to connect to the internet, both wired and wirelessly, my network icon gives me a "No Internet Access" yellow sign icon. I have successfully connected to the internet by directly connecting to the modem and I have connected to other wireless networks using this computer so I have pretty much narrowed the problem down to the router. I have already perform a firmware upgrade to the latest version and did a hard reset of the router and setting it back up, to no avail. One problem I ran into while I was setting up though was that I can't even set it up with the WiFi-protected setup so I had to set up the password and stuff manually, as I have always done successfully in the past. I've never had a problem with this router in the past and so I think this router may be due for a replacement. I have contacted support through live chat and all the options they're giving me is either pay $25 to talk to someone about this or go through troubleshoot section.

View 3 Replies View RelatedMy PC will connect just fine, but it is the only device on my network that the router will allow internet access. The router will allow other devices (DVR, laptop, nook) to connect to it, but won't allow those devices to connect to the internet. Each device will show the same error, - "connected to linksys - no internet". I've reset the router many times with no results.

View 6 Replies View RelatedI'm out in the middle of nowhere and just set up a few days ago a WRT54G2 V1 wireless 4-port router a family member had laying around. I had no problem getting it working and running. About an hour ago I noticed I wasn't picking up the wireless with my cell phone and went to check it on my laptop, I had no wireless connections available. It wasn't my adapter or anything since I know there are no other connections out where I am. I went to reset the router and found it had taken issue with that. Once I powered everything back on the router stopped responding and became "stuck" in an annoying state. It doesn't respond to the reset button, unplugging and replugging, nothing. Whether the internet was plugged in or not it will not move past what it's doing now.
View 5 Replies View RelatedMy router has been dropping the internet connection for years. The ethernet connection to the desktop works fine all the time. The problem is only with the wireless connection. About every 1/2 hour or so the router will drop the wireless connection and neither or my 2 laptops can find the network. Unplugging the router and replugging it in solves the problem temporarily, until it drops it again. I updated the firmware to 1.0.4 and that yielded no changes.
Router: WRT54G2 v.1 Modem: Siemens Speedster 4100 (part #060-D141-A12) My two laptops running wirelessly are Macs. The desktop is PC running Windows Vista.
We purchased a Canon MG 3100 printer but am unable to connect. Have rebooted router but still no joy.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI have bought a new WRT54G2 router since the old one broke down. When I log into the 192.168...and click wireless, it takes me to this window that says Searching for your Client Device....If you haven't clicked wi-fi protected setup button please do so now. It's stuck at 98% and I click on the bottom middle button with the 2 arrows constantly and nothing is happening.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have a self-contained (not connected to the Internet) network where I have a WRT54G wireless router serving several laptops at Location A, but will need the ability to connect laptops at Location B, over 100' away. I also have a WRT54G2 laying around. Is it possible to use that to wirelessly get the laptops at Location B connected to Location A, or is that only possible using a cabled connection between both routers?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a continuing problem with my WRT54G2 wireless router. I set up my network, changing the password for the router, and I change the SSID, as well as the encryption password. When I set it up, and after changing passwords etc. I always log off, go back and log on, and it works fine. Once I set up the network, over time, I'll notice a device will no longer connect via wireless. When that happens, I try to log on to the router, and can not connect to the router using either Firefox or IE. When I try, I get Internal Server Error, or just nothing. I can ping the router, and if I run an IPCONFIG at this point, the default gateway does show 192.168.1.1. Every time this starts to happen, I must do a hard reset of the router. Once I do this, I can connect, and log on using the default settings, and re-set everything. This is a HUGE pain, as it takes a lot of time, and happens way too often.

When I tried to connect to the internet I couldn't. the adapter was in the network, now it is not. Now all I get is unknown device. I downloaded the drivers from Linksys removed the unknown device from the usb listing and used the utility to unstall the adapter drivers. Followed the instruction to install new drivers but after restarting the computer the only thing that is there is the unknown device. On this computer the OS is Me.
View 1 Replies View RelatedWhen I connect the ethernet directly to my mac the internet works fine, but when I try to connect through my Linksys WRT54G2 V1 Wireless-G Broadband Router I can't connect to the internet. Omitting a few minor problems, my router has been working fine for the past year and a half. Recently it started giving me trouble so i have started trying a number of things to fix it, but I'm no expert in this category. The other day i tried updating the firmware which actually worked for a couple of hours, but then stopped working again.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI am using the WRT54G2 connected to a cable modem that requires a PPPoE login. I followed the Service Providers instructions and cloned the modems MAC address to the WRT54G and setup the PPPoE user id and password. I can then plug my PC into one of the Ethernet connections on the back of the WRT54G and everything works as expected. First I connect to the WRT54G2 and then I open a PPPoE connection in my network settings and it logs into the service provider and everything works as expected. But when I connect to the WRT5G2 wirelessly I connect to the AP fine. When I open the same PPPoE connection to the service provider it fails, the message says I have the wrong userid or password or that the protocol is not supported. Of course I know the userid and password is correct because it works when connected with Ethernet cable. I have tried disabling the security on the wireless network but that did not seem to work. The modem is a HomePNA HCNA Voice Endpoint.I am at the latest firmware 1.0.04.
View 7 Replies View RelatedOkay so my friend recently bought a Linksys E1200 Wireless-N Router. We set it up the other day and it all appears to be functioning just fine. The only problem is when we log into her wifi it says "No Internet Access". I'm moderately okay when it comes to computers but not expert and I'm horrible at the whole wifi router thing. Through my laptop I've done a Windows Network Diagnostic to see what was wrong and it says that my "computer is correctly configured but the device or resource (DNS server) is not responding."
View 8 Replies View RelatedIs it possible to connect the E3200 Router to the internet over the wifi (WLAN) interface?Actually I can only use the ethernet port called "Internet" to connect with my Fritz Box router (which is responsible for my internet connection to my DSL provider). But I don't want to use 10m or more ethernet cable across my flat so it would be nice to use just wifi.
View 5 Replies View RelatedEverything was going great until tonight. I can connect to the internet fine wired. Wireless devices can connect to the router, but cannot access the internet. No changes were made to the unit. Updatae firmware to 1.02.11 but that did not fix the issue.

View 5 Replies View RelatedMy computers will not connect through to the internet. It's not the modem, because if I connect my desktop directly to the modem, it connects fine (which is how I'm typing this now), but if I plug in the router, my desktop and my laptop (wireless) will show they're connected to the network, but that there is no internet connection available. Support won't troubleshoot because I've had my router 1 year and 10 days (which I think is a crock of **bleep**) and the "Guide Me" thing is just running me around in circles. I'm so pissed off I'm about to throw the router through a window and buy another (*NON*-Linksys) router, rather than pay $30 for one time tech support (which, with my luck, the same thing would happen again in 3 months, and the same directions wouldn't work then). I've done a factory reset, and set up the router from scratch, done a firmware upgrade, everything, but it still won't connect
View 1 Replies View RelatedI recently purchased one simply because we needed a wireless router with my roommate using a new laptop. Installation went by without a hitch but when it came to actually using the internet, it was so sluggish that it was impossible to use, on either computer. In fact, I had to disconnect the router and go directly from the modem to even make this post.
I've upgraded the firmware and I thought it was fixed because the internet seemed to be moving at a decent pace (loading pages, speed tests), but then it went back to moving incredibly slow if not timing out altogether. There was a problem with random disconnects but that was something that the firmware upgrade did seem to fix outright.

Lose internet connection at least once a day. Each time regaining by unplugging power cord for approx. 10-12 seconds. Is this a router failure and maybe needs replacing or ?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI'm trying to configure my Linksys WRT54G2 router as my primary router and have my Actiontec just used for the my FIOS TV (eg VOD, widgets, guide). I've googled many HOWTO's on how to do this but I just cant get it working. So setup up will look like this in th end:
(DHCP Server)
(Wireless) (Only TV)
Internet >> WRT54G2 >>> Actiontec >>> PC/Laptops
|
FIOS TV -------------
how to set this up? I understand that the STB devices configured on my Actiontec routers is actually my TV receiver and currently configured with the following IP addresses:
IP-STB1:Connection Type: Coax
192.168.1.100
IP-STB2:Connection Type: Coax
192.168.1.101
IP-STB3:Connection Type: Coax
192.168.1.103
I have COAX Ethernet setup so everything is going through ethernet per Verizon phone tech.
Actiontec Firmware Version: 4.0.16.1.56.0.10.11.6
WRT54G2 = DDWRT firmware
I've tried the following HOWTO's to no avail.[URL]
I have WRT54G2 router. All settings are more-less default and the behavior is following. You start up the router. If you do not connect wireless device within 10 minutes, then you have to restart the router. You have assigned IP via wifi, and when you connect cable device to the router, the wifi PCs are disconnected.
View 3 Replies View RelatedMy WRT54G2 v1 does not automatically connect to the internet on computer start-up. The computer will say "Connected, No Internet Access" In order to fix it I have to unplug the router and then plug it back in. This happens to any computer that tries to get online from a cold start-up. The router must always be unplugged, then plugged back in, then it will have internet access (and will generally maintain it throughout the session and even if the computer is restarted, i.e. warm boot). I have downloaded the latest firmware uprade.
