Servers :: Connect 5 Servers Together To Create A Private Network?
Apr 16, 2011
i'm trying to connect 5 servers together to create a private network. Each server has a network of it's own and i'm trying to make all 5 servers communicate with each other to share and search data simultaneously..
We are planning to split the Private servers from the DMZ Servers and configure an additional Interface and segment for this purpose. Â Private Servers Segment: 192.168.4.0/24 (there is no DHCP all servers' IPs are statically configured) DMZ Segment: 192.168.3.0/24 (This is a future deployment) LAN Segment: 172.17.0.0/16 Â Both, Private Servers and DMZ Servers are in a collocation as well as the ASA5520. There are multiple Branch offices that uses subnets within the 172.17.0.0/16 Network and they are connected to the ASA5520 via Metro-E. Â I do not know if this is possible but what I want to do is this: Â In order to avoid the change of internal DNS records I want to mask the DMZ servers with a Private Server IP when a Private server or LAN host wants to access it like this: Â The FTP server in the DMZ has the IP address: 192.168.3.100. But when a PC from the LAN wants to reach the FTP server it should points to its old IP: 192.168.4.100. This way the PC sends a packet to the ftp.corporate.net (192.168.4.100) the ASA recieves the packet and translate it to the (192.168.3.100) and send it out through the DMZ Interface. Â Also if the Private Servers wants to reach the same FTP the ASA will act like a proxy-ARP and send the paquet to the DMZ by means of the translation of the IP.
I have a VPN with a number of servers where we are doing some software development. We have a TFS, Web, App and SQL Server etc.. inside a private LAN which is accessible via VPN. Nothing inside the private network can access outbound. However, I would like to open the Web Server on the private LAN to be able to be accessed via http(s).As we develop the software I want to access the site from the internet. It's a fairly simple setup.DSL > Modem > Home Lan. On the Home Lan I have a Server (2 ethernets) connected to the modem router and the other card to a hub. This server acts as the VPN server, DHCP etc.. for the Private LAN.The web server I want to be able to access from outside is the one inside the private network. Any recommendations?fyi, I'm not a networking guy, I hacked my way through setting up the private network through a number of great YouTube videos, that saved me a lot of time.
I am taking a college course using Microsoft Windows Server 2008 Administrator Lab Manual. The labs assume that you are in a MS lab with the ability to connect to thier domain and servers. I want to create my own virtual lab to simulate MS environment so I can follow the assignments. I have VirtualBox installed. I am a completely new to servers and networking
I'm having a problem connecting to multiple servers. I do know that I have stopped the windows firewall and taken out Norton and avg, yet I still can't connect to any servers. I've even tried on other networks! I can download torrents and surf the internet just fine though. I can't connect to an online class server to do my homework, and I've also tried to start playing WOW but neither will connect. I also don't see peer guardian 2 in *services*
i m working in a domain environment . for example my domain name is testdomain.com. i create a shared folder on it and give everyone a read control over it. then i create a folder in that shared folder with name of test. i also create a user with name test. i give full control to test user over test folder. now when i access the test folder from network with username test. i can read that folder but when i create the file or folder in the test folder it will show the following error..."unable to create a folder"new folder" access is denied.
I Have exented vlan 120,121 from DC-1 to DC-2,the DC-1 and DC-2 are connected using L2 Trunk over fiber terminated on Cisco 6513 on both site ,the distance around 40 Km ,on the DC-2 i just assigned server-1 TO VLAN 120 while server-2 in vlan 121 ,but these servers unable to communicate neither with DC-1 Servers or betwen them locally on DC-2 ,pls note that the servers at dc-2 rely on DC-1 for routing.
I am trying to create a port channel between HP servers (4 nic) and two nexus 2k. The server side its a single team with 803.2ad fault taulerence and on the nexus side it have created two port channel (port channel 1 for nexus 2k1 and port channel 2 for nexus 2k2) and made them ACTIVE (channel group mode active)   But when i add a another server on different ports and port channel them the same way as the above server on nexus 2k1 and nexus 2k2, the first server stops pinging. so i have to sht down the first port channel and reopen them - then it works, however it says NO NETWORK ACCESS on the servers (running windows 2008). the only way is to reboot the server i cant be doing this on a production network.
how to connect a adsl modem to a computer network using a switch with a server.I have a network with a server and about ten clients computers all connected through a switch, the server has an IP 192.168.1.1 as its gateway. I want to connect adsl modem to the switch so that all the computers can have access to the net, but the adsl too has 192.168.1.1 as its IP.
On C6500 series I have to create a separate community to send a SNMP trafic for a couple of gig interfaces. The user that will collect these informations has a Monitoring server and is only interested in monitoring traffic on those link and maybe pps. Â I understood to create a an ACL pointing to his IP of the server, and that create a community and associate this access list with that community. Those commands I have, but I need to send the user the MIBs or other relevant info on how to collect and forbid everything else but thos interfaces.Do I need to give the SNMP HOST command and associate with this community after that.
I wish to establish a private and guest network for a local business. They have Verizon service with its wireless router plus their own personal wireless router. The Actiontec mi424wr (rev i) wireless router is connected via Coax and will remain the first in line so as not to disrupt the set top boxes (STB) channel guide and other features managed by the Actiontec. The radio is active with an SSID of "ABC-Private" and its network is 192.168.1.xx. The thought is that only business personnel will connect to this router for internet.I have connected their Linksys WRT54GS to the LAN port of the Actiontec, using a static IP which I have allocated in the Actiontec's DHCP pool for this purpose. This radio is active with an SSID of "ABC-Guests" and its network is 192.168.2.xx. The thought is that only patrons will connect to this router for internet.
My overall goal is that business personnel will have unrestricted access to the internet AND to each other¦ while patrons will only have HTTP and HTTPS access to the internet¦ and no communications will be permitted between the two network subnets. I realize there are hardware firewalls designed for accomplishing such a goal, but the business hopes to avoid the additional expense, if the aforementioned model can provide this capability. In order to accomplish this goal, my remaining tasks as are follows:
1. On the Linksys, permit only http and https traffic (and whatever else the patrons would need/want).
2. On the Actiontec, deny Linksys IP address access to everything except for the Actiontec gateway.
I'm having an issue with my work computer where it can connect to all of the servers in the company accross the country EXCEPT the servers located in New Jersey. I am running Windows XP SP3. I am able to ping the servers and get a response back, but my network drives are disconnected and I cannot open them. I have tried completely uninstalling the driver for my network adapter and reinstalling it with no affect. Mine is the only computer having this problem and I have uninstalled all software that was installed within the past month to be sure. It is ALL of the servers in New Jersey so I know it's a problem with my computer and not the serers. I had a similar issue a while ago where I could ping Google, but could not get to the website, and that ended up being the ZoneAlarm firewall that I had. That was fixed by uninstalling ZoneAlarm and doing an ipconfig /release & /renew. I re-registered some dlls but that didnt work either.
I have an issue here, I need to connect to various anonymus proxy servers, the ip's of which can be freely found on the web. I've tried doing this from a broadband connected computer and it's ok, but the thing is that when I try doing this from a computer that is tied to o router, it doesn't work at all.
Put bluntly, my laptop will not connect to any ftp site/server via any of the following methods:Command Line Software FTP Clients (Filezilla and other such programs) Windows Explorer (window) Browsers
However, if I try to use a WEB-BASED client, I am able to connect without a problem. What's stranger, if I try to connect to the same server on a different computer using the same wireless network (I'm running on Wifi), that computer has not problem connecting to the FTP server via all the methods mentioned above. So that should at least eliminate the wireless network itself from the list of possibilities.
And to the best of my knowledge it has nothing to do with the firewall as I've made every possible setting tweak to allow ftp connection in and out - I've even turned off the firewall and antivirus with no luck.
Which is why I have reason to believe it has to do with my laptop itself.
my partner cannot connect to the internet on her computer. I have tried disabling the ipv6, typing in oranges dns server in the ipv4,and attempted to find the dns automatically. I tried running the ipconfig, but it flashes up for a second then goes off before I can look at it. As mentioned I am with Orange, I contacted them and they wanted to run the computer through an ethernet cable and reset everything which I think is a pain in the backside and I know it should be a bit simpler than that.
Intermittently, say, once or twice a day for several hours, I will be completely unable to connect to servers - I can still use the internet ok, but things such as online multiplayer games, last.fm, youtube, steam refuse to work. Some give errors saying that they are unable to connect to the servers, others claim that the server connection is fine. It happens most commonly in the early hours of the morning (GMT), if that is of any use?
I've been having this problem for the past few weeks, if not months. For a few days, or maybe around a week lol, I havent been able to connect to any Game-servers, may that be Steam, League of Legends, Guild Wars 2 or any of that. I have opened all ports, firewalls are disabled/uninstalled. I've seriously tried every single thing I've read, but I can't get anything to work. My sister can play without any problems, so I think it has something to do with my PC.
i have 3g mobile dvr, put a sim card directly into it and it gets an ip address and you should be able to view it remotely but i cannot connect. i can ping the ip no problem and i checked that the port the dvr uses (9000) was also open on that ip and i used a locator to trace the ip and it pinpoints the ip to my isp's base so why i cannot connect to it
I have a ISA 2006 server with a static WAN IP that runs our Office, 2 DC's (1 file server), One sharepoint, and 20 Desktops, In the same rack i have a webserver with its own static WAN IP NOT connected to the Local network (to keep it secure and keep Users from using that as web access). The cable modem has 2 ip's. that goes to a switch , one leg feeds the ISA which in turn feeds the LAN switch. the other leg feeds the webserver. Is it possible to connect the Webserver to the LAN, but keep the WAN IP and not allow users to use that connection to the internet. ( keep all internet traffic going through the ISA ) but allow the webserver to transfer backups and such to the File Server on the LAN. FYI: the Webserver has 4 NIC's
I have a linux(fedora) which i use as a proxy. the proxy then connect to the router. the proxy also serves as my mail server (i use postfix). Problem is, since yesterday i discovered thta i cannot access the internet for any machine connected via the proxy (and any dhcp-assigned machines). As a result, even the webmail is not accessible from any machine. When i tried, i changed some computers so that they connect directly to the router -and they work fine for the internet. Problem is, I am still not able to access webmail. What could be the problem with the proxy.?(NB Postfix is running and http too is running).
i am using open suse 11.3 as OS.. when i try to connect to any mail server over smtp using telnet, their is either a connection time out or server not found error msg..
My computer at work crashed so I had to reinstall windows 7.When it was working properly I was able to connect to our main server computer. After the reinstall I am able to connect to the internet however I am unable to connect main server computer. Usually, before it crashed, the server would automatically show up in the networks folder. Now all I can see it my computer and not the server computer. If someone knows how I can get my computer connecting to the main server I have tried everything and nothing is working. The main server computer it Windows XP and my computer is Windows 7.
I'm relatively competent with adding new hardware to an existing network but I am not sure how to do something a little more complicated. I have a small business server that hosts 6 computers via wired network. We run a cable from the main office across the lot to the shop where it connects to a wireless enabled router. The router is wired to two more PCs and hosts 1 laptop wirelessly. I would like to two PCs to be able to connect to the server and access all the common files stored in the server drive - how do I get the PCs to see the server and not just the router/each other? I don't need the laptop to connect to the server, but we do need to wireless router to connect the laptop to the internet.
Some time ago while of facebook i clicked on a link supposedly forwarded from a friend and some sort of flash player virus file was downloaded to my laptop. I proceeded to run a MAlwarebyte scan of the laptop and deleted the downloaded file. However, since then I've been unable to connect to facebook via Internet Eplorer or Goggle Chrome, and I'm getting the message 'Oops! Internet Explorer.
Remote Desktop can't connect, so I've got four servers in the same LAN. Whenever I try remotly access the web server, the message (Remote Desktop can't connect to the remote computer for one of these reasons: 1. Remote access to the server is not enable. 2. The remote computer is turned off. 3. The remote computer is not available on the network) The thing is that I can connect to all servers with any desktop computer in the network, but when I try to do it in my laptop (that is connected to the same LAN) I've got access to the other servers but not to the web server. Sometimes I had to restart this server and works fine for a little while.
