I have two machines in my network (A and B), where A is the one directly accessed from outside when calling my IP address and B is a very powerful one which should serve for very intensive tasks.
I would like to forward a certain port, e.g. 9090, from A to B, so any request sent to A on port 9090 is directly forwarded to B.How can that be achieved?
I have a RV042 using (for now), just the single WAN interface. I am trying to forward all packets to port 9000 from the WAN to a single IP address on the network. I've set up both forwarding rules under Setup -> Forwarding and under the Firewall -> Access Rules.I cannot connect to my device from the outside world, however. Is there something I'm missing?

View 5 Replies View RelatedI have two linux machines(A and B) and a remote service. The service is listening on port 16000. The outgoing connection from machine A on port 16000 is blocked by a firewall, but on B it is not. I need to access the service from the A. So it will probably need to be routed(correct term?) through the B. I cannot modify the program which is accessing the service(so it will always try on port 16000).
I know there are a lot of tutorials on similar topics, but I don't know which one should I follow, because there are apparently many possibilities. I have full access to both machines. What is the best way to accomplish that? What should I execute on machine A and on machine B?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have only recently noticed a HUGE decrease in my Utorrent speeds, so i thought i would have a gander and lo and behold.apparently the port Utorrent uses wasn't open. Now, i have tried about 10 different port numbers, made sure Utorrent is being accepted by Norton 360 Firewall,followed complicated directions to (i think) foward ports, and also follow directions to open a specific port.Nothing has worked so far, Utorrent still comes back with a port closed error.

My cisco 837 is connected to a ADSL Router by Ethernet Cable. I have forwarded the telnet port from my ADSL Router to the LAN IP of the Cisco Router so that i can connect to it Remotely but it is not working. I am able to telnet internally but from Internet it is not working. I am not using Cisco Router for ADSL Connectivity.

I have done this before on my old Linksys router with no problems but the Netgear has me stumped.The only way I can reach any of these devices from the Internet is to map them to port 80. But that limits me to one device, hence the need to forward more ports.All cams have fixed ip addresses so it is not an issue of their ip addresses changing.

I always seem to have problems when trying to configure port forwarding on cisco routers. I've even tried the instructions I have for a cisco 1811, but no luck. I have a cisco 871 and a computer that has VNC installed on it. I want to be able to access that computer from out side the network using the external ip address and port 5950. People outside the network will be able to open vnc viewer and type in *external ip address*:5950 and it will be directed to the computer with a static internal ip address of 10.12.0.10. Well after a power outage, the power comes back on and randomly assigns everything a new address.
