Cisco Routers :: RV042 / Forward All Packets To Port 9000 From WAN To Single IP Address On Network?
Nov 2, 2011
I have a RV042 using (for now), just the single WAN interface. I am trying to forward all packets to port 9000 from the WAN to a single IP address on the network. I've set up both forwarding rules under Setup -> Forwarding and under the Firewall -> Access Rules.I cannot connect to my device from the outside world, however. Is there something I'm missing?

I feel I'm having an issue, and I'm unsure why.We own a Cisco RV042 V03 with firmware 4.0.4.02-tm.
I have successfully demonstrated that I can open and forward ports 8001 & 8081 from the WAN side to a specific IP Address on the LAN side.I performed this by going to Setup --> Forwarding, then setup Port Range Forwarding & Port Triggering.
I also changed Setup --> UPnP, then UPnP Function is set to Yes.
My issue is that we would also like to forward 11101 through 11164 in the same maner. However, when I step through the same method described above, it does not seem to work.So now I am confused how I could open the 8001 & 8081 ports, but not the higher 11101 thru 11164 ports.

I have some Ethernet-connected cameras that all have the same Ethernet MAC address FF:FF:FF:0A:0A:0A. They were originally designed to directly connect to a Windows PC, but they can also connect through a simple unmanaged switch.A Catalyst 3560 switch won't forward packets to or from anything with that MAC address, at least not by default. Is there a way to convince the switch to do so?
It was my hope to replace the dedicated connections we have for these cameras with a separate VLAN for each camera, and switch them through our existing switch network. Given that all of the cameras use the same MAC address, putting them on the same network is out of the question, but different VLANs, where the only two devices on each VLAN were the camera and the PC that uses it, would be fine.
The switches run IOS 12.2(55) SE through SE3. I learned the camera MAC address from the PC's ARP table while the camera software runs; it turns out the cameras don't have a full IP stack either and don't even do ICMP.

I have a problem with my WAN ports. I can´t obtain a ip adress from my ISP. I´ve tried factory reset. Upgrade to lateset firmware. Clone MAC adress from my PC. Nothing is working.
But when I plug the WAN port into my Old router it receives an adress directly. When I plug the ISP connection directly into my pc or the old router it´s working as well.
I am using the latest firmware: RV0XX-v4.1.0.02-tm.bin
And My ISP has an interface with an ADSL modem SmartAX with DHCP.

I have two machines in my network (A and B), where A is the one directly accessed from outside when calling my IP address and B is a very powerful one which should serve for very intensive tasks.
I would like to forward a certain port, e.g. 9090, from A to B, so any request sent to A on port 9090 is directly forwarded to B.How can that be achieved?

I am trying to find a solution using modular QOS when there is congestion in circuit we drop packets with WRED which are marked with a DSCP value of say AF21. I can drop those traffic completely in case of congestion. I was thinking to allocate 100% bandiwth to rest of the traffic.

Is it possible to create a service which will forward public port 9010 to an internal IP address with port 23?First of all, I do not like to open the public Telnet port to the inside so I would use another public port and second my ISP does not allow some public ports beneath port 80?

We have a Cisco RV042 Router. Two ISP's and using dual wan setup. We are trying to connect to a pc on our network using rdp. The pc we are trying to connect to has been configured to listed for rdp on port 3390. I have tested it internally and connect via rdp thru said port.
I have setup a port forward rule on the router to forward port 3390 to the ip of the pc. I have setup protocol binding for port 3390 service on wan1.

I have a switch that I have configured for jumbo packets, but they don't seem to be functioning. I have set system mtu jumbo 9000. The hosts are connected via 2x EtherChannel links. The hosts are jumbo frame enabled, and can ping their own local address using jumbo packets & do-not-fragment flags on the pings. They cannot, however, ping each other or the switch that way - it always says that the packet requires fragmentation. I know the attached machines (they're all VMs) and virtual switches support jumbos because I can ping within the virtual interfaces of the VMs. It's just traffic that goes over the switch that fragments. The switch is a WS-2960G-48TC. Here are the various outputs, with a section of config at the end.
hrnacancwtdevs3#show system mtu
System MTU size is 1500 bytes
System Jumbo MTU size is 9000 bytes
System Alternate MTU size is 1500 bytes
Routing MTU size is 1500 bytes
[code]....

I have been asked to "forward a port on an ASA 5505 to an internal ip address." Sounds easy for most of you, and I thought I did it right, but I am not certain. Basically, they want it set up so that when xx.xx.xx.xx:30000 (x's = the firewall ip with port 30000) is accessed from outside, it is forwarded to an internal ip on port 30000 (xxx.xxx.x.xxx:30000)
Here is what I tried from within ASDM 6.4:
1. NAT Rules-add static NAT route:
original-Interface: inside
-Source: xx.xx.xx.xx (local ip of computer on LAN they wish to access from outside)
Translated - Interface - Use Interface IP Address
Enable PAT: Original and Translated port both set to 30000
2. Access Rule - add
Interface: Inside
Source: any
Destination: xx.xx.xx.xx (IP of Firewall)
Service: tcp/30000

I recently installed a First Alert Security System and assigned IP address to the DVR but within the DHCP (After reading many threads, I will asssign, ping and create a static IP outside of the DHCP, maybe this will resolve the issue). I am able to view the cameras on my iPhone and HP Laptop but only internally on my network. I am trying to port forward my DVR IP address to be able to view the cameras on a public website. Although I am going to chcek and see if assigning an IP to my DVR outside of the DHCP and hopefully this will be it, I am afraid that my CradelPoint CRT 500 Modem will not support it. I read on one thread that this is a common issue after you have exhausted all the options. How can I be sure that my modem supports that my router port forwards? I want to avoid configuring to run in bridged or pass-through mode.

I have a couple of ASA 5505's which work fine for what they are doing VPN and all that - we have 1 DLINK DFR-700 Firewall left and I need to get a new ASA to replace this since it is old.
All this box really does is port forward external clients to 1 address on the internal lan for client software updates. Any example configs?
So lets say we have client a with IP 1.1.1.1 and client b has 2.2.2.2 - at the moment this is what happens client a and b come in through http and get mapped to the internal http server 10.10.1.2
So I need to setup about 100 clients which can come in through http only - get mapped to the internal IP and also keeping the internal server to be able to access anything outside.

Recently setting up a RV042G for my SOHO. Everything seems to be fine except for SSL port forwarding. I know the router's external static IP is reachable because I test it out with remote management functionality from an external IP. Port forwarding also works correctly because I have other behind the router servers in both UDP and TCP working flawlessly. PPTP VPN also works corrrectly. What I can't get it to run is an Apache server. Looks to me RV042G kind of drop all SSL or HTTP ports from the WAN side.
Configuration:
- 4 port forward rule under "Setup/forwarding" for 80/8080/443 and 8443 all to the webserver with a static IP.
- Firewall page I have Firewall, SPI, DoS enabled.
- Added a firewall rules to allow all HTTP and HTTPS traffic from WAN1 to the webserver static IP.
- Toggle Block WAN Request, HTTPS and multicast does not affect the result.
- Toggle and mapping the remote management port to other port beside 443 does not affect the result.
The same setup will works corretly under my old Netgear FVS router. Am I missing something in RV042G setup?

We have a single 4500 connecting to two non-cisco devices. We need to enable port channelling or link aggregation between these two.The links are carrying mulitple vlans , hence are trunked and the ip address on either side is used for routing.
From each of the two non-cisco device, i am taking 2 ports each to connect to the 4500.On each non-cisco device side, two ports will bundle together as one aggregated interface (ae1) and the other will be called ae2.
my query is how do i do the configuration for etherchannel on the cisco 4500 side , as it will need two different Po's( port channels).I need a single ip address on both sides of port channel to be present for routing.

I'm trying to setup a simple port forward in the RV 120W Router, but can't seem to get it to work.
I created a custom service called RDP for TCP port 3389-3389. I added a Port Forward to Always Allow the service RDP, from any source IP to destination IP 192.168.50.23. I have tried it with "same as incoming port" and also specified port 3389 for forward from and to.
Firewall access rule is enabled and set to Inbound, Always Allow, RDP service, Any source & destination IP, DNAT IP is 192.168.50.23.

I cant work out how to get my Netgear DGN2200v3 to port forward.Portforward.com describes how to port forward for a Netgear DGN2200 but NOT for the DGN2200v3.The difference between the DGN2200 and the DGN2200v3 is that when I log into the router and go to port forwarding/port triggering there is no box to fill in the server IP address. It just says service name, service type, starting port, ending port.

Until now i used a D-Link router with a DDNS account on dyndns.com. I used the ddns account for accesing the surveillance camera when i wasen't at home. The ports for the cameras are 80 and 83.I have a static ip and when i tiped the IP on broswer i was able to acces the camera with port 80 and when i tiped ip:83 i was able to acces the camera with port 83.Today i got a RV180W router made de configuration (ddns, port forwarding) but now when i type the ip address i can't see the camera, instead the router interface is loading and when i tipe ip:83 i get the message "The connection has timed out".I've tryed diferent things but i can acces the camera only by internal ip (192.168.1.x) but using the DDns address i can't acces the camera.

I have RV042 and E4200 routers . I tried the manual UPnP port forwarding using Rv042 router and was succesful ( by typing 192.168.1.1 in the explorer and logged in using user name and password )
I am using a linux embedded system whose Internal IP ,Internal port are mapped .This system is connected to one of the LAN ports
I want to try auto UPnP port forwarding both for RV042 router and Linksys E4200 routers
After enabling the Upnp option only and logging out ,Can i add a port mapping entry in this router without logging in using a C++ program which runs on linux embedded system .

I attached an Iomego Home Media network hard drive to my Linksys E3000 router (via ethernet cable). Before setting up the remote access on the Iomega, I forwarded the ports that it wanted (443 and 21) to the static IP of the Iomega. I checked to see that they were open using yougetsignal.com and they were both open. After setting up the remote access on the Iomega, the 443 port closed and I cant even get into the "manage storage device" page for the Iomega. Iomega uses TZo for the domain names. They tell me that the association is made between the name and my public IP address. My router is out of warranty since Sept, so Linksys wont give me the time of day. I contacted my ISP and while they block a couple of ports, 443 is not one of them.I've installed the latest firmware (1.0.04 - Build 6). Reset and rebooted numerous times, Port 443 remains closed.
