So my den pc is 192.168.1.4 and the kids xbox is 192.168.1.6 well i set the port forwards for my ip address for my security cameras and I set the kids portforward for the xbox. Well after a power outage, the power comes back on and randomly assigns everything a new address. Well the portforward for the secuirty cam might be on the xbox, or the laptop or the guest pc or my den pc at random?
I'm running Windows Vista desktop on a wireless network. It's been working fine for months. Just lost power for a minute today and ever since I can't connect to the internet, only locally. My desktop can't even identify the network. My laptop (I'm using it to send this message) is also wirelessly connected and works fine, as do other wifi enabled devices in the house. I've done the power off and on for the modem and the router but it's made no difference. I've rebooted the desktop system too. I've run the ipconfig /all and am concerned I have no Default Gateway listed.
The power went out a few days ago and ever since it came back on I can't detect/connect to the wifi that we have. All the other computers work fine, except for mine. How do i fix this problem?
I live on a college campus and we had a brief power outage today. The power is back, and we (there's 4 of us in the apartment), can only connect to the internet via ethernet cable. All of our computers show wifi as connected but no internet access, the same goes for our cell phones. We've tried resetting the modem, reconfiguring and everything.Still nothing works. The router is a JCG 108 M.
The power went out in the room where my desktop and router and modem and everything is located. The electrical outlet that all of those things were connected to suddenly stopped working so I had to relocate everything to the other electrical outlet in the room. Everything is working fine again, including the internet connection on my desktop, but now my laptop in the other room will not recognize my wireless connection. It gives me a list of available networks, but none of which are my own. Which makes no sense, as everything is working as normal on my desktop. I tried to "manually connect to a wireless network" by typing in the name and proper security type/encryption type and password, however it tells me a network called (my network name) already exists, and it says "use the existing network. Open the 'connect to a network' dialog so I can connect." or "choose a different name." When I choose the former option, the list of available networks pops up again but mine is not on there. And it should be, as I'm definitely in close range of my router. [code]....
I have a 500 GB HD connected to the router to the usb port and It bothers me that whenever electricity fails in our city and it comes back I can still navigate and access my files on the LAN from the hard drive, but I lose the connection to the router management either by my smart phone application or by accesing trought my laptop. The only way I have figured out to solve this is connecting the drive directly to my laptop and erasing the configuration files created by the router when you set the shared folders, etc. then plugging again and setting all shared folders etc.
I have two RV180W's which are excellent units in almost all respects. The one really noticeable problem is that when I have a power outage (which I have quite a lot in rural France) my RV180W does not automatically restart when the power is restored. Is it not possible to fix this in the next firmware upgrade, or have I missed something in the router menu/setup which I should have set.....?
Two days ago there was a quick power outage here, just one of those flicks off flicks back on deals, but when it came back on I noticed my internet wasn't working. Couldn't figure out what the deal was so after trying a few other things I ended up eliminating my Linksys WRT54G router and just using my DSL modem. Internet works fine.
Now, I've always been kind of sketchy on networking stuff, but I don't think there router is broken I just think it's been reset or something and now I don't know what setting I need to change to get it back to working order.
Here's the kicker though. I had the DSL modem in bridge mode and the router handling traffic before but I had a huge issue with that where my Steam would only download at 10-15 KB/s. Not only that but it would take forever to login and crash constantly. This would happen on my brother's computer too, which is on the same network. I could never figure out how to fix it as forwarding ports had no effect and every other fix I could think of amounted to nothing as well. Hell, I even did a fresh install to no avail.
Now going straight into the modem my Steam is downloading at full speed and there's no slow login or crashing issues. The thing that boggles my mind though is that more than once before I tried doing this very same thing, going straight into the modem, and it didn't fix the problem.
Ideally I want to get the router back up and running and keep my Steam in full working order, essentially to have my cake and eat it too, but the priority is to get the router back up in running as I have another PC on this network, plus a 360, a PC, a wireless printer, and two Wii's.
Dell pc studio 450s will not recognize network connection after power outage. Have run diagnostic fix multiple times but to avail. I have roadrunner cable broadband connected to voyage router and then to wireless router. Wireless router and vonage works (as evidenced by this email using iPad)
Have already reset everything multiple times including unplugging modem and pc.
From what I understand the pc is getting gatewayaddress or does not recognize.
I am on a surge protector and we lost power last night. This morning we were stilling experiencing a brown out but now the power is back 100%. I've walked through the E1000 router reset and not matter what I do, all the lights except the power light blink rapidly and dimly. Could the router be fried even though it's on a surge protector???? It's less than 6 months old so hopefully still covered by warranty.
We had a power outage the other day, and now the wireless router cannot connect to the internet. Network Magic shows there is no connection from the device to the internet. I tried repairing it through Network Magic but it wasn't able to fix it.
My PC is directly connected to the wireless device by LAN cable. If I connect the PC directly to my DSL router I can connect to the internet, but not if I connect to the wireless router and from there to my DSL router. I tried resetting the wireless router to factory defaults and then going to [URL] and resetting up the router security settings. But Network Magic still shows the bad internet connection.
I then tried resetting the router to factory defaults again and installing it from scratch using the setup CD but that failed as well. I'm not at home right now so can't remember exactly at which point it was but I think it was either when the setup wizard tried to detect the device or install the device. This is the second time I've had to reset up my router due to power outage. Last time I was able to get it working by doing the first steps above.
I have a Cisco EA4500 wireless router. The only issue I have had with this router is when power gets disconnected or if I have a power outage, I have to go through some loops to get it to work again usually taking upwards of 45 minutes to fix.
Latest firmware with CCC corrupted after power outage. I reseet the e4500 several times and tried to reload the firmware and still no good. Only way I got it back up is to install the older non-CCC version 2.37. Strange all was fine until the power outage. Not sure if I should even bother to upgrade to 2.38 again.
We had some problems with 3560G-48PS-S switches and PoE for our phones. IOS is 12.2(50)SE3. There were some problems after power outage. The switches didn't reboot because we have two eletric circuits. But after the problems we had no PoE on all ports.
The switches logged to following syslog message:
%ILPOWER-3-CONTROLLER_PORT_ERR: Controller port error, Interface Gi0/17: Power Controller reports power supply VDD under voltage
I can't find any informations in the error message decoder for that. But there was another thread here with quiet the same message, but another problem regarding RPS2300.
After reloading the device all works fine again. The workaround with the commands "power inline never" and "power inline auto" I didn't know till today.
Some information about that syslog message?
My guess is that there was a voltage swing and the switch powered down its supply? Is that possible?
I recently copied a configuration from a router 2800 to a 2900. After a power outage no one can connect outside of the network through the new router. Before the outage all was fine. I put back the old router and all is fine which eliminates any cable or switch error. I have the router totally disconnect. I notice the configuration is in place. My question is there any diagnostics that I can run to see if there is any hardware failure. It seems to boot up fine.
I am using Scientific Linux 6.2 (Variant of RHEL / CentOS) . Every day at a particular time there is a power outage at my place, and after 1 hour power is restored. My laptop is connected to a network switch, that has no Backup power, and connection is disconnected when power is gone. Laptop keeps running in battery power.
Now when power is restored, the ethernet connection (eth0) is not automatically restored in linux. It only says connection available under wired connection. The same thing happens to the Wireless Network Connections. What can I do to automatically connect to these networks, whenever they are available?
Immediately after a power outage, my internet connection predictably drops after a set period of time or usage. It is either after about 30 min or 5-15 mins of watching Netflix. I have a modem hooked up to a wireless router and use the network on my iPhone, laptop and Roku. Since the problem, I have dropped to just having my laptop connected but this has not worked. The wireless network will disappear after the 5 - 20 mins, the light on the modem and router will show no internet (all other lights are normal). Internet connection will be reestablished if I either unplug both the modem and the router (not just one or the other) OR if I unplug the ethernet line from the modem to the router and plug it directly into my laptop (the internet light on the modem will go from "off" to "on"). Despite internet connection working from transferring from the router to the laptop if I connect it back to the router, the internet lights goes off again (resolves upon unplugging and plugging modem and router back in). The internet has not yet dropped when it is physically plugged into my laptop.
I have tried the following:
-Powercycling (temp fix until it crashes again) -Plugging into a different outlet (I cannot connect it to a different phone line, only have 1 with DSL. Also, I do not have phone service or cable, just internet via DSL) -Resetting modem -Resetting 2 different routers -Calling ISP, their test of the modem was inconclusive
Again, my wifi does not see my network whenever the internet is dropped or the ethernet cord is unplugged from the modem. The outlets I have it plugged into has some type of electrical issue, two electrical devices have shorted out in the room they are in. I do not think this issue is electrical, everything seems to have constant power (unless the power outage shorted out something in the modem). Below are some details of my modem and router. I will provide any additional info requested. I will gladly buy a new modem but I want to see if it can be fixed first.
My modem: Westell WireSpeed Dual Connect Model: A90-210030-04

Router: Linksys E2000 Internet Connection Type: Automatic Config - DHCP (I tried PPPoE and it never got a valid IP address from my ISP)
We have a cisco catalyst 6509 with Supervisor Engine . After power outage, the switch always start in Rommon mode. Configuration register is 0X2102, we want to it always start in normal mode. What should i do?

How to Forward an external wan port like 49150 to lan ip on port 22?In the control pannel I can set only one port , and this port will be the same where the connection will be router to the lan ip ,therefore If I set the port 22 , the connection will be natted to the 22, but how to set a different external port to a specified different lan ip port?
I have one server 172.16.0.100 and i nat this server to a public ip X.X.X.5 and i open RDP for this public ip.Now when i access Remote desktop on this public ip x.x.x.5 it open perfectly. Now my senario is that i want to open a http url on port 5555,server ADMIN open port 80 for this URL on LOCAL lan(http://172.16.0.100:80)So how can i map port 5555 to port 80 on ASA 5520.so when i hit URL [URL]
Is it possible to create a service which will forward public port 9010 to an internal IP address with port 23?First of all, I do not like to open the public Telnet port to the inside so I would use another public port and second my ISP does not allow some public ports beneath port 80?
I have only recently noticed a HUGE decrease in my Utorrent speeds, so i thought i would have a gander and lo and behold.apparently the port Utorrent uses wasn't open. Now, i have tried about 10 different port numbers, made sure Utorrent is being accepted by Norton 360 Firewall, followed complicated directions to (i think) foward ports, and also follow directions to open a specific port.Nothing has worked so far, Utorrent still comes back with a port closed error.
I have just purchased a nas drive. I want to be able to access my files from anywhere. I believe if i setup FTP i can view the files over the web. from what i have been told i need to forward port 21 to the ip address of the nas drive.
My cisco 837 is connected to a ADSL Router by Ethernet Cable. I have forwarded the telnet port from my ADSL Router to the LAN IP of the Cisco Router so that i can connect to it Remotely but it is not working. I am able to telnet internally but from Internet it is not working. I am not using Cisco Router for ADSL Connectivity.
On our LAN we have a SBS server and Level Platforms server and soon to be another Ticket Server all hosting an app runnin on 443. OWA, Service Center and Spiceworks Help Desk.
Each has it's own URL: Remote.domain.com/owa Sc.domain.com/owa Support.domain.com
How can I forward Https to these servers? The one company said some Can port forward by URL another guy said you can forward to your internal dns
I am trying to forward the ports for several ip network cams, that have built in webservers, on this router. I have done this before on my old Linksys router with no problems but the Netgear has me stumped. The only way I can reach any of these devices from the Internet is to map them to port 80. But that limits me to one device, hence the need to forward more ports. All cams have fixed ip addresses so it is not an issue of their ip addresses changing.
I have a Thompson TG585v7 router and i have been trying to port forward ports 36666 for my home CCTV system. I created an new application (which i called cctv) which was fine...it was when i tried to assign the new application to the LAN devise iv been having problems. In the 'application' bar i see my application labelled cctv.....then in the device bar i select the 'user defined' option to manually input the devise IP and the router just refreshes and doesn't store the forward that i want
