Accessing Shares Between 2 Routers On 1 Internet Connection?

I have the Apple Time Capsule connected to my ISP using PPPoE and it is working just fine creating a wired and wireless network. The IP address of TC is 192.168.1.1 and I have set it's DHCP range between .100 to .200Next, I wanted to add VPN to the router as I live outside the US and wanted to access some services in the US. So I got an ASUS router and flashed it with Tomato firmware.I assigned the ASUS as IP address of 192.168.1.10, connected this it to a LAN port on the Apple and used a DHCP type Internet connection to set it up. I then created a second WiFi Network and gave the DHCP range between .11 to .20Now using any Wi-Fi device, I can connect to either of these networks and browse the web just fine. The ASUS is all setup as a VPN client so any traffic going through the ASUS is through a US based VPN.

Have a school which is split into 2 domains (and 2 different subnets). A logged in windows domain user from domain A needs to access a windows share on domain B. So I made a bat file on the pc in domain A to map a drive to the share on domain B, using the net use command but specifying login credentials of a domain user from domain B.The pc on domain A has it's hosts file edited so it can access the server on domain B which the share is on, ping and everything to this server works fine.I created a user in domain B with the corresponding login details as in the batch file, same un and pwd, it didn't work. If I specify the un and pwd in the batch file as the domain admin account on domain B, it works fine everytime. I'm pretty sure it's not a premissions thing as I have given the inital user that I specified in the batch file full control to the share permissions and security permissions on the share in question, it still wouldn't work.
All I can think of, but can't put into good technical words, is that this user I am specifying in the batch file not only needs to have access to the share itself but has to enter the other domain as well, would there be some protocol or something in which it does not have permissions to use effictively but the domain admin clearly does as it works fine for domain admin?

I recently bought a personal laptop that I'd like to use at work. It came with Windows 7 Home Premium installed and because of that, I can't join it to the Windows Server 2003 domain we have. I don't really need to print or any of the other things that go with being on the domain, I just need access to a few key folders. Is there any way to access shares on the server with Win 7 Home?

I have a router and a server that are connected through two unmanage switches. The router has DSL service in it and I want to access the internet on the server but I can't. The two are in the same network and it is a static IP network. I can ping the router from the server.

So i have set up my Dir-615 router and it worked for about a week perfectly. Then one day i was able to connect to the router, but it says that there is no internet connection. This is untrue since i am able to connect to the internet if i unplug from its WAN port and put it straight into my laptop.

Sky router setup in the living room, with a NAS, TV, PS3 connected to it.In my office (separate room), i have 2 laptops and a desktop PC.My question is:If i want to connect all of the equipment in my office so that it shares the broadband connection am i right in thinking i would need to by some form of switch? where the switch would be connected to the phone socket in the wall, and the 2 laptops and desktop PC would be connected directly to the switch.?

My company is using an RV016 router as a gateway to our internal network. My end goal is to allow remote users to access network shares via Samba.I've been trying to create a VPN using the router with absolutely no luck. I've tried QuickVPN. I've tried creating a client-to-site group vpn. I've tried creating a client-to-site tunnel vpn. I've tried pptp. Nothing will allow me to establish a VPN connection. Sometimes there is information logged in the router but most of the time there is not.

I have an RV042 using Quick VPN to connect to a remote network. I have port 1723 forwarded to a static IP address on a Windows 7 Pro 64 bit PC. I can establish the VPN and ping a printer but not the Win 7 PC. I can not acccess any shares on the pc via the IP address. It has Norton Antivirus and Windows Firewall. This remote PC replaced a Windows xp PC that allowed access to the shares. I have tried access with a Windows XP Pro and Windows Vista Home Premium PC. Neither have worked.

I have a little probs@a site .we have a vsat link connected to a linksys E1000 router which is pluged into a cisco 2950 switch doing DHCP to the LAN,then a WAN link configured on a cisco 2911 router on static ip which is pluged into the same switch to serve the same LAN.I have been having issues of the workstations accessing both the WAN and internet@ the same time.

I cannot seem to see my server behind a cisco router. I have a feeling it is because our network phone system may be robbing the IP address?We have two fixed IP addresses.The first one, is assigned to the router.We have two swtiches set up behind router and all the other network stuff interanally wrks great.We also have full internet access. When I type the IP in on the web, it accesses the talkswitch phone system.I have set the internal IP to the server as fixed.I have port 21 open for FTP.When I run a test, the internet sees port 21 open. However, I cannot seem to cal lup the server over the internet. Could the talkswitch system somehow be interfereing with the logon?What would the proper syntax be to access the server?

I want to know whether NAT loop back is possible with the RV220W router/firewall, or when can we expect a firmware update that addresses this?For terminology sake, what I mean is that I've got a rule that maps HTTP/S to 192.168.1.2. I have a VPN connection to my office network. The VPN connection appears to work fine as it connects and logs me in successfully. In the connection box I have to provide a domain and my username to log in. Once the VPN is connected I am then able to ping my office computer as if I was on the same network. That is great. The problem is that there is a server on that network that defines a bunch of A records for web applications we are working on and I can't seem to hit any of those from my home computer, even though I can at work. If I remote into the office PC and navigate to these addresses they work fine. I also know that my co-worker can hit these a records from home so it has to be something I'm doing wrong.

Recently I'm having issues with accessing local services via external IP. Short description of configuration:
- sub.mydomain.com pointing to my external IP.
- few web services running on my local server with reverse proxy on Apache 2
- firewall on router enabled
- ips on router disabled
- single port forwarding: WAN 80->Lan 443, WAN 443->LAN 443
- accessing my services via sub.mydomain.com/service1, sub.mydomain.com/service2, etc

Basicaly if I go no matter if I type http or https I will be redirected on 443. That configuration has beed working without any issues for a month. Recently I have increased the amount of DHCP users and suddenly it's not working any more. I can still access my services from outside but not from LAN.Restarting router does the trick for a while,sometimes for few minutes, sometimes longer.Enabling IPS is the way to go but then I'm limited to around 22Mbit/s. I have no idea what happend.What I can't understand that it was working, suddenly it's stopped and there are two solutions, either to enable IPS or to restart router?

We have ASA5520 and we want to configure a VPN IPSEC profile so that a partner of ours can access only a server and only on HTTP port.I've tried configuring split tunneling with an Extended ACL but probably I'm missing something. I just configured the ACL so that it included any source to our server's IP on HTTP port but when testing, it didn't work.
However, if I configure a Standard ACL on the split tunneling I can access the server and all the services it provides.Do you know if I'm missing anything on the Extended ACL configuration?
Should I configure this any other way?

I just installed WIFI wireless camera in the house. I validated that I can access and view video within home WIFI network. However, I can't seem to access it remotely outside my home Wifi. i'm trying to connect my xbox360 to the internet. I'm upstairs, my modem and router are downstairs. I'd prefer not to have to get a wireless adaptor for my xbox, but if that's the only way, i'll settle with that.We have Comporium internet. I can get cable if I hook a cable box up to the coax port in the wall upstairs. I have been looking at coax to ethernet adaptors, hoping I could go from the coax in the wall, to the adaptor, right into the back of the xbox. Is this possible?

I want to block all program from accessing internet except one. I can do it using Windows Firewall but some programs doesn't get blocked!
And the list is too big to block them one by one (some programs doesn't get unchecked to block them).
I play online game (Counter Strike:CZ) that lags after some intervals (that lag is my actual problem) so i want to stop every app to access internet except my game.

I haven't been able to get a decent answer to no matter how much googling etc I do. We have a problem in our flat where any time someone downloads something everyone else in the flat loses access to the internet until that person finishes their download or stops it. We are all accessing the internet through the same router, 3 of us wirelessly and 1 wired. The computers which are for some reason blocked by the other person downloading can't even access the router to do a reset or work out whats happening. [URL] gives our download speed as 14.80Mbps which isn't great but okay for good old NZ.Why would it be that 1 person downloading is preventing the others from accessing the net, do some downloads somehow take full control of all the available bandwidth ?.And is there any way to make it so that it doesn't happen, like make it so no computer can use all the bandwidth at a time ?, ie my flatmate can download his whatever but I can still send emails etc at the same time.

how to block a user from using the internet when they plug their computer into a router. My roommate has refused to pay her share of the internet and, being a college student, I don't have enough money where I feel generous enough to let her have free internet after stiffing me. Basically, I have 2 routers at the moment (hoping to fix this soon): my Qwest modem works as a router but I also have a Linksys router connected to it. The only phone jack is in her room so I have no way of stopping her from plugging her computer straight into the modem and/or router. I've configured the wireless so that she would be unable to access the, wirelessly but I'd like to know how to prevent her accessing the internet when she plugs her computer directly into either component.

I have finally got netgear adapter to connect to router, and its connected, but not able to access any webpages. I am not receiving any bytes back. I had to manually type in a IP address, as it was not picking it up automatically. I have other devices connected to the router (laptop, ipad, iphones) and access web easily. I have a VMware workstation on my host computer (windows 7) and the VMware workstation has a virtual machine (windows 7) on the host. We were trying to allow internet access only to the Virtual machine, i.e. to minimize exposure of the host to the internet. I tried to use Vlan Access Control list with MAC ACL to deny the host virtual machine from accessing the internet and allow all other traffic including the virtual machine. The configuration works for some time and after some time when the virtual machine continously pings the c3750 switch (wher the VACL is implemented), the host also pings the c3750 switch and re-establishes connection with the internet. But when we configured the c3750 switch to deny the VM and allow all other traffic, it works fine. It seems like the host automatically finds a way to get arround the VACL.

The last few weeks my WAG 160N stops accessing the internet perhaps four or five time a day. Pulling the power plug for 20 seconds and reconnecting it usually gets it going again - until the next time.
Also I have noticed the internet light - the right hand LED - is red every so often. The gateway is behind my PC so I haven't been able to see if it always correlates withe the lack of connection.

I currently have a Router that is ADSL2 & VPN capable. It currently allows me to work from home and connect to work servers securely. I have used traceroute [URL] in CMD to determine that all web requests/traffic goes through the VPN server rather than just the requests to access files on the VPN server.I don't feel comfortable having all my traffic now go through work servers(the VPN) so I would like to avoid this. I know I have 2 solutions:- Use Split Tunelling on the router where only requests to files on the VPN server will go through the VPN server, all other traffic is not through the VPN. I have heard that this can compromise the whole network as one node is currently 'unsecured' and can affect/compromise the whole network. Is this true?
- Add a second Router that doesn't connect through the VPN. When I finish work I disconnect from the VPN Routers wireless connection and connect through the second routers wireless connection. I would like to take solution 2 because I wont be compromising the whole network but I have some questions:- Is this something you would recommend?
- Is it dangerous? Is it just as compromising as solution 1?
- In Australia we use physical Phone Splitters for our internet physical connection. One side of the splitter connects to a phone line port on the wall. The other side has 2 ports, one for the phone line connection and one for the router/adsl connection. If I have 2 routers I'll need a splitter that has more than 2 ports so I can connect the 2nd router to the internet. Are there Phone Splitters with more than 2 ports and do ISP's allow me to do this?
