It functioned normally for about a day and then it stopped connecting to the internetEvery other wifi enabled device I have connects just fine so its not my modem. Oct 1, 2011So I have a relatively new (only about 3 weeks old) Acer Aspire laptop...now my internet worked all fine and dandy up until about 36 hours ago. For some stupid reason my laptop will not connect to wireless networks, now at first I just thought "boo the wireless is probably ******" but that is not the case because the internet works perfectly fine with other laptops. I've tired my school's wifi, along with my home's and the library's (I'm using a library computer right now).
It keeps saying that my home network is an "unidentified network" and subsequently I cannot connect to the internet. It's very frustrating because I have restored the system and it still won't work.

Oct 15, 2012I've recently moved into a new flat and got a new BT Home Hub with Unlimited use. Alas, I'm having problems with my laptop - an Acer Aspire 5920. I can connect to the internet with no problems, but the connection intermittently cuts out. It remains offline for about 10/15 seconds and then reconnects to my Home Hub automatically. This is particularly annoying when I'm trying to watch a video.My other flatmates have no issues like this, so I'm assuming that it's a laptop fault and nothing to do with the BT connection. I have uninstalled the Acer eNet software which comes installed on the laptop because I felt this may be clashing somehow with the Windows internet connecting program - unfortunately the problem persists.

Aug 3, 2012I just bought a used Acer Aspire One 10.1 netbook and I am having some issues. When I got it the pc needed 17 windows updates done. So I did that but I am not sure all the updates worked properly as the machine shut down but never rebooted after finishing updates. After I turned it back on I tried to connect to the internet through my wireless router (which is working fine for other devices), nothing. So I tried a wired connection, nothing again. The wireless is finding my router it is just not hooking up to the internet. I tried ipconfig/all in the cmd prompt and all it shows is that the media is disconnected??? Does anyone have any ideas as to what is going on? The compute seems to be functioning fine except for the internet.

Both have very strong signals from the router and the desktop connects to the internet just like always, but the laptop isn't getting the internet signal. The only real significant thing that was done on the laptop was to install Adobe Shockwave Player with Norton Scan. I already have McAfee on the laptop tho, so I uninstalled the Norton. Acer Aspire 5250 Keeps Loosing Wifi Internet Connection?
Nov 27, 2011I purchased a brand new Acer Aspire 5250-BZ669 that included Windows 7 just two days ago. Everything is working fine on it except for it randomly looses connection to the internet. I have an established network that I have been using for years. The signal strength is always 5 bars and excellent. I also have a compaq connected to the same network, and it never looses connection. However my Acer will randomly drop connection. I have no idea why. Sometimes it will connect again in minutes or sometimes hours. I am using a Linksys G Wireless Router(Model # WRT54G2), Atheros AR5B125 Wireless Network Driver, and a Atheros AR8152 Controller. I have enabled and disabled in addition to uninstalling and installing the driver and controller many times. I have also moved the router and adapter all over the house. I have downloaded the newest versions of every driver from the Acer website. I have googled for hours looking for the answer to no avail. I run the troubleshoot and the answer it gives me is to make sure all the connections to the router is secure, which it is or else my other laptop wouldn't work.

Aug 29, 2012This is a new Acer Aspire 5733Z laptop. A backup was not made. I don't think it was known that there was a restore feature. As such, when the 'auntie' who got the computer began using it, she wound up disabling the entire system with a virus.The entire machine was wiped out. Windows 7 Ultimate was installed, along with Office 2007, Adobe Reader, and the Acer updater (which now indicates 0 updates needed). Auntie does not have wireless internet.
The local area connection reads "Network Cable Unplugged", even though there is an Ethernet cable connected to it and modem in the correct locations. Roadrunner indicates that it's an Acer problem. Acer indicates it's a Windows problem. Both calls cost me 2 hours of my life that I cannot get back. Would I just be better off telling my Auntie to call ISP and have them install a wireless option? I know the wireless works fine, because I am on the machine at home, and there isn't a single issue.
Aside, when I click on the LAC button, I get a box that reads, "This connection uses the following items:", with a list of 'stuff'. If I click on the install button, it asks me the network feature I want installed - client, service, or protocol. I'm not sure which one, and none of them will install anyway, because it's asking for a disc that the laptop box didn't have, since we were supposed to backup the machine to begin with.

When I troubleshoot the message is 'Your broadband modem is experiencing connectivity issues'. My Compaq mini netbook is not experiencing any problems though. Oct 28, 2012I have been having this problem with limited access with my internet. I have deleted mcafee, norton, photoshop, applications etc. I have restored the system to a previous date. I have disabled firewalls and antiviruses. I have an Acer Aspire with Broadcom 802.11n Network Adapter. I only have wireless as I am sharing my internet and therefore can't test it with an Ethernet cable. I cannot switch on and off the modem box either. I have this limited access which disappears by itself after a few minutes. Then it comes back again. I disable the wireless and enable it again which solves the problem for only a few minutes. I have checked my ip which is 192.168.1.20 with submask of 255 something - which I don't think is the problem.At last, I have switched to Safe mode with Networking but even in this mode I still have limited access. The internet connection keeps cutting off and on all the time.
