Now only one laptop is actually connecting to the Internet, but it looks like our network isn't secure anymore. Our 2nd laptop is connected wirelessly to the router, but not the Internet. When I hook my laptop to the cable modem, I do get an IP and I can surf the web. The Belkin admin page says Disconnected. I've got latest firmware. I've reset to factory standards. What else can I do to get my Belkin working again?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have wireless router F5D9230-4. I use this every day to connect to my employer's corporate network from my home, using a VPN connection via Cisco AnyConnect Mobility Client.
Just about every day my VPN connection is interrupted and, although it "thinks" it is connected, it loses connectivity to my company's corporate resources. This occurs even though I'm connected to my router using a Cat5 cable. While this VPN connection is lost, my Internet connection keeps working.
When I use the same computer, even wireless, connected through other networks outside of my home, the VPN connection is never lost (or at least never that I remember).
When I wire my computer directly to my cable modem, this problem does not occur and my VPN connection stays connected throughout the day.
Note that I reset my wireless router to all default settings other than the password to access its management utility, to avoid any "weird settings" coming into play.
I wonder if this has to do with "VPN Passthrough" or the windows 7 firewall conflicting with my router's firewall?
I've been working with the IT department at my job for weeks on this and a resolution doesn't seem to be coming from that direction. I'm on calls every day that use this VPN connection and it's to the point where these VPN connection losses are embarrassing to me.
I've recently upgraded my internet provider to BT and received a BT Home Hub 3 as the new wireless router.Previous to this I was using a wireless Belkin G + MIMO ADSL router (model number F5D9630-4).There are places in the house where the wireless signal is very poor. Connecting to the internet using either of these routers is difficult in these spots. However, since the Belkin is now spare, I've been thinking about trying to use it as a low cost repeater (i.e. free) to extend the wireless range in the house.There are several good articles that I've found on this site which address the connection of two routers together (e.g. John Will's article on connecting two SOHO routers is a good example), but they rely on an ethernet connection between the two routers. Any way to establish a wireless link between the two routers to extend the range of the current wireless network.

When I went here [URL] and installed the software my Windows 7 Pro w/64 bit does not recognize the adapter. When I go to Device Manager it does see the Belkin under other devices. The wife’s laptop and the Wii console connect to the router wirelessly. I also connect a few PC directly to the router via Cat5 cables which runs through most rooms in the house. Since the router is down in the basement in my control panel along side the cable modem and what not. This causes the wireless single to be pretty weak in certain parts of the house. What I was planning on doing is taking the D-link router connecting it to the wall jack upstairs to the internet port on the router. Then setting both routers to static and changing the Belkin router to DHCP?

I was having intermittent internet issues. I was advised by my ISP to update the firmware. I tried via web browser but when I tried clicking on the firmware update link I would lose the page or the page wouldn't load.
I then tried running the cd and installed the bellkin software and got everything working - it asked me to update the firmware to which I readily agreed considering the request from my ISP. Then during the firmware update, my problem took place.
Retried multiple times to restart the router as well as resetting the router.
I have a n750 and I did the firmware update on the router and I have it check for firmware updates when I log in and i keep getting this message: "Cannot connect to the firmware information server,please double check the WAN connection." I have access to the internet.
