I was having intermittent internet issues. I was advised by my ISP to update the firmware. I tried via web browser but when I tried clicking on the firmware update link I would lose the page or the page wouldn't load.
I then tried running the cd and installed the bellkin software and got everything working - it asked me to update the firmware to which I readily agreed considering the request from my ISP. Then during the firmware update, my problem took place.

When I connect using same cable/etc. Router cannot get DNS/IP from ISP (Comcast). Cable modem works directly connected to my laptop. Switched back to SB5101 and works again flawlessly. FW on router is 2.01.07. Had comcast tech support as well as comcast tech onsite- no resolution. I did activate new modem thru ISP (even with them here doing it).

I went to the download section of the linksys website, and it does show that there is an update there, but I have read in alot of places that the update downloads are in a zip file. WEll it definately wasnt in a zip file, and all it did was download a strange file and there was nothing to install or anything. I have looked and haven't seen anything about the rfb files. I know it is a boot file, but do not know if I should update the boot file first and then the firmware image or vice versa. Also, in my update screen on the SG500, the boot file option is greyed out.
