When I first hooked it up, it worked. Now, the drive is lit up like it is working, and when I enter \192.168.2.1 I can see it, however my Windows 7 computer is unable to access it (even though this is the same computer that accessed it when I first hooked it up). The computer I am using is running Windows 7 and is connecting to the network wireless.

Dec 14, 2012Swapping cable modem SB5101 that has been working for years for newer one SB6121. F5D8235-4 v2000 router has been working with SB5101 for years. When I connect using same cable/etc. Router cannot get DNS/IP from ISP (Comcast). Cable modem works directly connected to my laptop. Switched back to SB5101 and works again flawlessly. FW on router is 2.01.07. Had comcast tech support as well as comcast tech onsite- no resolution. I did activate new modem thru ISP (even with them here doing it).

Dec 29, 2012I have recently purchased a Belkin n300 wireless N router. The problem is, I have to reboot the thing numerous times throughout the day to allow a client to connect to it via wireless. One client will be connected and then drop, or a client will be connected, and I cannot connect another device. I also had an issue with streaming over wireless for netflix on my devices and the only way I could get it to work was to turn off the firewall, what the hek.... This is crap. I knew I should not have bought a belkin router again. Had one years ago and it constantly gave me issues. Had my Linksys Wrt54G for years with no problems until it finally crapped out. Anyways, my firmware version is the latest version according o the website.

Mar 7, 2012I have a the aforementioned router set up with one PC laptop connected via ethernet cable and two to five other devices (PC laptops, iPhone, iPad, Linux Laptop) connected at any given time. About once or twice a week the router drops the network. I can still see the SSID, but can't connect on any device. The wired laptop gets dropped as well. I tried to ping its IP, but it says the device is unreachable. The only solution is to walk upstairs and unplug the router, which fixes it every time until a few days later when it happens again. I've restored factory settings a number of times.

Feb 23, 2013I have a Wireless N router model F5D8236-4 v2 (01) with firmware 2.00.04 (Nov 12 2008 10:51:08) and it's not showing all issued wireless or Wired IP addresses in DHCP Client List.
They all have IP addresses and connect to the internet through the router, but in the router administration page, they're not listing. The Windows devices all show but most of the Mac devices are not, nor is my XBox 360.
My reason for investigating this is because the router seems to keep losing the Mac devices and a router reboot fixes it, but it shouldn't have this problem because all the Windows devices just seem to work.
According to the support page I have the latest available (dated November 12, 2008 which really seems kinda old to me for a Wireless N router). Are there any plans for a new firmware offering for this modem or have you already deprecated it as "legacy equipment"?
Cisco Routers :: RVS4000 Looses WAN-connection
Aug 18, 2011My new RVS4000 (2.0.2.7) connects the WAN via PPoE with dynamic IP which is held at DynDNS and normally I see the RVS4000 via a router-to-router-VPN. That works fine so far, but every "some" days the router looses WAN connection (and with ist VPN). When this happens, last DynDNS-update is hours ago, so it didn`t reconnect. Looking on the routers site, the LAN is fully functional for clients that have got their DHCP-Information. New clients don`t get DHCP-Info (IP-address, DNS), both do not have internet access. The router`s WAN-summary shows, that it thinks to be "CONNECTED" but with empty WAN-IP and DNS entries. Klicking "DISCONNECT" and then "CONNECT" again solves the problem so far. The loss of connection is not the periodic break from the IPC, which is correctly identified and reconnected as configured. I wanted to trace the problem with the log, but there is also a bug. It stops logging at some time completely - neither email-log nor local log, so I never happend to be lucky to hit the point of loss of connection. Also the local log provides a first and next pages, but the next pages are always empty - not really useful.

Nov 16, 2012For the past week or so I've been having trouble with my Wi-Fi connection. I have a desktop PC, a kindle and a PS3 that all connect to it.
If I turn on my Kindle after it's been off for a while it'll try to connect to the Wi-Fi but will keep alternating between 'Authenticating'/'Connecting' and never gets to the 'Obtaining IP Address' part so it shows the signal strength bars at the top but they're totally empty. If I go and unplug the modem and the router, let them sit for a minute, plug them back in the large light on the router will flash orange (it's usually green) so I press and hold the WPS button which begins to flash and then both lights turn green and the Kindle quickly connects itself to the Wi-Fi. If I don't let it go into sleep mode or turn it off it will stay connected but if it turns off I have to do the same modem/router reset. When I'm at school or work I have zero issues connecting their wireless networks.
With the PS3, if it's turned on while I reset the modem/router it will connect to the network but if it's turned off during the reset it will not connect when I turn it on later. Also, either way, it no longer connects to my media server (sharing files between the PC and the PS3) regardless of connecting or not.
Belkin N+ Wireless Router Constantly Needs To Be Restarted
Feb 8, 2011I've got a Belkin N+ Wireless router. Every day or two, all internet connections fail. If I pull the power plug on the router to restart it, all connections come back up as normal.
Is there something I can pinpoint that is causing this? Is the router getting "overloaded" or something? I didn't see anything in the router settings that I could tell would be related to this. Really getting tired of having to constantly manually restart this thing...

DHCP Server Service - Error 1075 - Not Starting
Oct 8, 2011I had a virus. I think I got rid of it. Avast scans and boot time scans and Super Anti Spyware and TDSS killer report all clear. However, the network shield of Avast and the Internet don't work. Points to note: 1. In services, the DHCP and DNS cannot be started. I get the error 1075: service has been marked for deletion or one of it's dependancies are missing. (close to that)
I've checked the dependancies of both, and reinstated the ADF module in device manager after selecting the 'View Hidden' option.

Feb 7, 2013So I have a 2600 that I have configured three sub interfaces on. FA0.0.1 is set for DHCP and supports VLAN 1. FA 0/0.2 for Voice, FA 0/0.3 for Data. I have this router interface plugged into FA 0/24 on my 3550 and the 3550 is configured as a dot1Q trunk (I have attached configs for RTR and SW).I have most ports configured as access VLAN 1 which is where i have my ISP connection plugged FA0/1 on the 3550. When I connect the service provider link FA0/0.1 never picks up an address. If I take my internal DHCP server and connect it to FA0/1 of the 3550 it snags an address almost immediately.In my mind this validates that my config is fine. I also took the same cable from the service provider cable modem and connected it to my laptop and the laptop is pulling DHCP.

Problem is that, I configured Static VLAN 5 for one of our Client in their seperate room, mean to say, i activated all ports of their room with Static VLAN 5. one day they configured own DHCP server on Windows 2003 Server with same subnet (Same as VLAN5) in their room without any information and now their all computer/ Laptop acquiring ip address Dynamically.
If i have configured Static vlan on that port's then how it is get Dynamic ip from same port's.How to restrict to permit another DHCP server/Service in our premises. I Do not want to give administrative control to Clients to do such kind of thing with LAN.
