N+ requires constant reboots to maintain speed. When I reboot the router F5D8235-4 v3 it will run at top speed of 10mbps, after a day or two it slows to about 2mpbs. A reboot will speed it up again. I would prefer that it run fast all the time. Firmware 3.00.15

Two desktop computers are hard-wired to Belkin F5D8235-4 v1000(Firmware Version 1.01.19. When second computer is initialized, first computer slows to a crawl online. Comcast technician says modem is fine, but router appears to be the problem. Cannot find the extension .bin to download upgraded firmware and I don't know whether or not that will work. Is it time to purchase a new Belkin?

My wife pressed the re-set button instead of powering down which according to the tech set my router to reading zero (0).Belkin tech refused to tell me how to re-set the router unless I paid $75 for a six month support plan because mine expired recently.

When I first hooked it up, it worked. Now, the drive is lit up like it is working, and when I enter \192.168.2.1 I can see it, however my Windows 7 computer is unable to access it (even though this is the same computer that accessed it when I first hooked it up). The computer I am using is running Windows 7 and is connecting to the network wireless.

Both the laptop and the tablet connect to the :HOME" network while the desktop connects to something called "Network 5" which does not show up anywhere in my setup. As long as I have an Internet connection I really don't care what the connection is called, but I find it strange that I am connected to a network that apparently does not even exist

When I connect using same cable/etc. Router cannot get DNS/IP from ISP (Comcast). Cable modem works directly connected to my laptop. Switched back to SB5101 and works again flawlessly. FW on router is 2.01.07. Had comcast tech support as well as comcast tech onsite- no resolution. I did activate new modem thru ISP (even with them here doing it).

View 2 Replies View RelatedLately, I upgrade the firmware on my router. A linksys WRT54G. In order to access the router I had to do a manual reset to factory settings. Post upgrade, for some reason I couldn't access the internet. I tried everything for hours and finally through sheer luck of unplugging every cable and ever power lead and plugging it back in, it started working.
However, lately I've found that the only computer connected to the internet via eathernet cable is loosing connection intermittently. Also we seem to get constant huge spikes in latency and very inconsistent speed. Unplugging the router and plugging it back in again seems to solve this problem temporarily, but requires toggling of power multiple times a day. Also I had what I believe was an IP address conflict, or lack of an IP address once, but using the windows troubleshoot errors fixed that by resetting my wireless network card. (This was on a 2nd machine)

I have a N750 and I want to change the IP address through the browser. It is the standard 192.168.2.1 config. I change the IP to 192.168.15.x while hard wired and hit apply. The router reboots but still holds the same IP.
View 1 Replies View RelatedSo I have a WRT160N firmware v3.0 wired connection to my PC, and at least once a day my connection speed drops from 2mbs down to almost dial up speeds at 60kps. Just unplugging the router then plugging it back in seems to fix it every time. I've contacted my service provider and they say there's no issue on their end, and since I don't get this problem when I plug the modem directly to the PC I agree with them. I've done a factory reset and that didn't work. I've gone through the FAQ and can't find anything useful in there.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI'm running a D-Link DIR-655 Hardware Version A3, Firmware Version 1.21. In the past, it has been flaky, and I considered updating to the latest firmware (1.3+ something), but everywhere I read (mainly this forum) said it might be WORSE for the router and couldn't even be downgraded, so I decided to ride it out.
Eventually the problem disappeared and I forgot about it, but now it's back with a vengeance. Recently I opened up a Guest Zone so my neighbors could borrow wifi, and I occasionally run torrents. Torrenting seems to definitely crash the router overnight, while it also seems to randomly bug out, possibly when the neighbors are using the Guest Zone. The Guest Zone might be responsible, but I have no idea.
For what it's worth, I don't think my neighbors are terribly tech-savvy, so I doubt they're filesharing or doing anything risky. They might have malware installed, but I don't know.
Is there a way I can diagnosis my precise issue, should I go ahead and update to the latest firmware to try?
I upgraded my E3000 to a new E4200 several months ago. I use an SSL VPN to connect to work which worked fine on 1.0.01 and 1.0.02 but I upgraded to 1.0.03 to fix an issue where the router constantly reboots when I stream Netflix or Hulu and now the router reboots with Netflix, Hulu AND the SSL VPN tunnel initiation.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a the aforementioned router set up with one PC laptop connected via ethernet cable and two to five other devices (PC laptops, iPhone, iPad, Linux Laptop) connected at any given time. About once or twice a week the router drops the network. I can still see the SSID, but can't connect on any device. The wired laptop gets dropped as well. I tried to ping its IP, but it says the device is unreachable. The only solution is to walk upstairs and unplug the router, which fixes it every time until a few days later when it happens again. I've restored factory settings a number of times.

I am unable to forward and ports succesfully because after i have saved the settings i check it with a port checking site and it says they're all closed.
I have also been getting disconnected from my router when its under stress (Most recently playing League of Legends) but my Dad's Pc (Which is only connected to the Belkin) still stays connected and hasn't experienced any disconnections.
My router model is F5D7634-4 v2, DHCP is enabled but only my Dad's PC appears, UPnP is enabled but doesn't seem to work and my fireware is up to date.
I used to have a different router before this one which never had these disconnecting problems.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI recently got a Belkin N150 Enhanced Router Model F6D4230-4 V1. I upgraded it to the recent firmware.
I use it NOT to access internet, but only to hook up my desktop computer with my laptop and my tablet PC. I use Win7 Ultimate on both computers. I configured a Win7 home network and I managed to access shared files between the 3 devices.
However, the speed is very very low, not going over 1.5 MB per second , sometimes even less, although the signal strength is the maximum (54).
The distance between the laptop and the desktop is only 4-5 meters, in the same room. My laptop is HP Compaq 6710b which has what seems to be a "Intel(R) PRO/Wireless 3945ABG Network Connection" .
Transfer speed is the same whether transferring from or to the laptop. I configured the laptop according to the instructions in the manual.
I purchased a Belkin N-300 router, model F9K1002V4, about 6 months ago, and recently upgraded my cable internet service to a 20+ mbps level, in hopes of improving the speed of my wireless devices. The speed on all of my wireless devices (a new laptop, ipad, and iphone) is still below 1mbps, even when I'm in the same room with the router. The speed on my wired computer registers above 20mbps, so I don't think the problem lies with the cable internet. I have tried to download the firmware update on Belkin's site, but my computer says it doesn't have the right program to run it, and it can't find the program on the web. I sent an e-mail to Belkin customer service, but they just sent me an automated reply, referring me back to their website, with the firmware update that I can't access.

View 17 Replies View RelatedRecently my desktop has experienced very slow download speeds (~0.11 Mbps), however the upload speed appears to be in line (~2.0Mbps). These numbers are taken from Comcast's speed test (my ISP). It is obviously a problem with my PC because everything else on the network (PS3, Laptop) have great signals with no problems. I just recently reverted the Desktop back to its factory state, and everything was working fine for a couple of months. The desktop in question uses Vista 32-bit and the Belkin Basic USB Wireless Adapter.

The switch came with version 1.0.0 of the firmware (circa 2005), which worked fine with Google Chrome and Safari on OSX.
However, I recently upgraded to 1.2.2 (circa 2009), and the in-built web configuration page doesn't seem to work in anything except for IE6 or IE7.
Chrome and Safari give me a whole bunch of resource not available errors, and the page itself doesn't render properly at all:
Firefox also doesn't render it properly either:
It seems a bit strange on Linksys/Cisco's part that they'd release an updated firmware that meant their switch could only be used by Internet Explorer.
Or failing that, are there any known workarounds to get this to work with Chrome, Safari, Firefox - anything other than IE? Or anything on OSX or Linux?
Also, I heard that firmware 1.2.1 still works on non-IE browsers - any archives of older Linksys switch firmwares?
