Sep 22, 2011I have a Lenovo 3000g430. I went to the Network connections, and I cannot find Local area connect. We have a Broadband connection that we shared among our friends. Since there is not local area connection Icon, I am unable to connect to internet.In the Network connection, I can find Dial-up(Bluetooth connection and Nokia USB modem OTA); under LAN or High Speed Internet, there is only this Wireless network connection. All of these are working fine. I have checked the device manager and BIOS, everything seems fine and Enabled. To resolve this issue, I have visited many sites and downloaded a Device driver from Lenovo, Broadcom NetXtreme Gigabit Ethernet and installed it again, still no change.

Sep 8, 2011I'm using my home desktop to make this post. This is issue is with my Dell laptop that--up till an hour ago--had a wireless area connection icon in the lower right corner and a Wireless Area Network option when I went to "Network Connections" (I still have my LAN option.) I was using a Driver Whiz program to update all my drivers when it said I needed some Intel Wireless Config program. So I downloaded it but at the end I had no Internet access and no icon, etc. So I uninstalled that program but it was too late. I've even tried a system restore to a few hours prior to this mistake of mine to no avail. My husband says I need to connect hardwire to the Internet and download a WAN driver...is that correct?

Sep 2, 2012Whenever I plug in an ethernet cord into the integrated ethernet port in my laptop, I do not get a connection and the "Local Area Connection" icon doesn't show up in the Network and Sharing Center or the Device Manager. When I do plug it in, the "Local Area Connection" icon shows up for a second saying it's unplugged and disappears. I have tried different ethernet cables as well as an ethernet adapter (which does show up in the Network and Sharing Center, but I still don't get a connection).
My laptop is a Dell Inspiron N2010, I'm running Windows 7 Home Premium 64bit, and my ethernet port "RealTek PCIe GBE Family Controller".

Apr 1, 2012I connect to my corporate network using Cisco AnyConnect Secure Mobility Client. Once connected I can no longer print to my LAN attached printer and other local resources. I use the Cisco/Lyncsys E4200 router on my LAN and can re-connect to the storage on the local LAN by setting up Port Forwarding of port 21 and MS Windows FTP folder sharing. However, I can't seem to connect to a Terminal Services client by forwarding port 3389. Is there a way to connect to the local LAN after logging into the VPN connection. I can connect to regular HTTP/HTTPS sites and most other type of connectiins, just not my own local resources.

Apr 4, 2013i purchased vaio with win8. Under network icon, I can not see any other computers in the local network therefore not able to access shares unless i explicitly map the shares which is tedious.
On other computers running win7 and xp, each of them can see each other under network icon.However that is not the case with my laptop running 8. Actually i have seen once or twice all pc-s show up but most of the time, they dont appear.
I read somewhere that following service need to be checked to make sure they are running: upnp, ssdp in services. I checked those and they are all running.
I also enabled "turn on network discovery" under network and sharing->advanced sharing. setting. To make it more complicated there are private and public and all network setting. I enabled all items as follows:
1. Private Turn on network discovery is checked along with Turn on automatic setup of network connected devices Turn on file and printer sharing is selected Allow Windows to manage homegroup connections is selected.
2. Guest or public Turn on network discovery is selected Turn on file and printer sharing is selected.
With these settings I still dont see the local computers and their shares. Do I need to check anything else?
Broadband :: DC++ Local LAN Sharing Using Router?
Sep 5, 2011i am trying to use ApexDC++ using a wifi router for local LAN sharing.The problem is that when i connect the LAN cable on LAN port of the router i am able to connect to local HUB but at the same time unable to connect to internet. And when i connect the LAN cable on internet port of the router i get connected to the internet but unable to connect to local HUB for LAN sharing.I have tried port forwarding also but of no use.
The ip details provided for local LAN sharing is,
LAN IP - 192.168.100.3 - 192.168.100.xxx
Subnet mask - 255.255.255.000
Default gateway - 192.168.100.1
This is the configuration on the LAN port of my wifi router. Where as when i connect the LAN cable on the internet port of router, it takes the ip automatically from server (DHCP) which is not the same as ip detail provided for LAN sharing hence unable to connect to local HUB. If i try to configure the internet port of the router with above configuration i am unable to connect to local HUB as well as internet.I want to connect to local HUB while connected to internet using a wifi router.I don't find any problem while connected directly. I have configured my computer's LAN card manually with the above configuration provided for LAN sharing & able to connect to internet as well through dial up connection.(connected directly without using a router).i am unable to figure out the difference between the two (direct connection & while using a router.

But the server i have low ping goes to Singapore then to Japan.My question is can i change the route of my connection so my first server doesn't take the route of Italy?
