Wireless Network Connection Icon Missing In HP Mini?
Jul 6, 2011I have a HP mini when i go into network connections the wireless icon is gone... I'm not sure what happen... I have already looked in the device manager and nothing is highlighted or has a ? or X.

This is issue is with my Dell laptop that--up till an hour ago--had a wireless area connection icon in the lower right corner and a Wireless Area Network option when I went to "Network Connections" (I still have my LAN option.) I was using a Driver Whiz program to update all my drivers when it said I needed some Intel Wireless Config program. So I downloaded it but at the end I had no Internet access and no icon, etc. So I uninstalled that program but it was too late. I've even tried a system restore to a few hours prior to this mistake of mine to no avail. My husband says I need to connect hardwire to the Internet and download a WAN driver...is that correct?

Since there is not local area connection Icon, I am unable to connect to internet.In the Network connection, I can find Dial-up(Bluetooth connection and Nokia USB modem OTA); under LAN or High Speed Internet, there is only this Wireless network connection. All of these are working fine. I have checked the device manager and BIOS, everything seems fine and Enabled. To resolve this issue, I have visited many sites and downloaded a Device driver from Lenovo, Broadcom NetXtreme Gigabit Ethernet and installed it again, still no change.

Mar 2, 2012When I'm on a fresh boot on my laptop (full shutdown then starting back up) my wifi connects just fine....perfect.However, when I close the screen (its a laptop) and it goes into standby...when I wake it up again my wifi icon by the clock shows that its still obtaining an IP address or whatever (little yellow dot bouncing back and forth over the icon)....The icon will stay like this until the next time I reset the computer....but the entire time my wifi works as it should....its just the icon thats being weird.

Like I said...everything is working as it should..Its done this since I've done the fresh install of Windows, so it has nothing to do with any software I've installed or any of the updates.

When I do plug it in, the "Local Area Connection" icon shows up for a second saying it's unplugged and disappears. I have tried different ethernet cables as well as an ethernet adapter (which does show up in the Network and Sharing Center, but I still don't get a connection).
My laptop is a Dell Inspiron N2010, I'm running Windows 7 Home Premium 64bit, and my ethernet port "RealTek PCIe GBE Family Controller".

Oct 10, 2012I have connected my 2504 to a 3560 switch via a UTP SFP on a Gig port.
I have my management on 10.0.0.x I have tried tagging the port and untagging.
When I connect to the 3560 the interface comes up a-1000 a-full but when I look on the WLC the port I am using, port 1, shows Link status down.
The green light is on both the WLC port and the 3560 port but I cannot get the link status to come up on the WLC nor can I ping the WLC.
It must be something dumb I have missed.
The WLC port is autonegotiate too.

Aug 6, 2011I need to know why I am losing internet connectivity like around nighttime, late. I keep losing internet on both IPv4 and IPv6! It both said "No Internet Access" Then later IPv6 said "No Network Access" That's the problem i am having on my personal laptop computer. I really am furious that I lost internet connection around 12:15, 12:30, 12:50, 1:30, 2:15, 2:30, and 3:30 A.M. i suddenly lost internet right there. And I heard the internet crew shuts down the internet system every nighttime and fixing it. I want to know why they need to fix it, how long will the repairs last ?

However, the STB services port (range of 27161-27192) will not connect through my router (linksys E4200) automatically or manually (Dtv error code 301). By connecting the receiver directly to my modem, the STB services port will connect as it should. I also have a XB360 (LAN), BluRay Player (LAN), two PCs, & Wireless Bridge connected with absolutely no issues. Each are manually configured with a static IP and the proper ports forwarded.I am STUMPED and FRUSTRATED to say the least.Other than the manual setup of these devices, my networking knowledge is not very broad.Are there any settings or configurations that I may be overlooking?The uPnP is enabled, NAT is enabled, and all firewalls are turned off.

Ever since I installed some Bluetooth software the internet connection icon has displayed a red X and is not reporting on the real name for my router. It only says 'Network 2 Internet access Unidentified network No internet access'. I have seen a previous post on this subject in this forum, but I want to clarify EXACTLY what I would need to do to fix the problem. According to Device Manager I have two entries under Network Adaptors: NVIDEA nForce Networking Controller VirtualBox Host-Only Ethernet Adapter (I am using VirtualBox to run Windows 8 and Ubuntu). If I were to uninstall the NVIDEA driver what would I reinstall? The existing version on my hard disk somewhere? I used Update Driver and it said I had the latest drivers so I assume that's what I have available locally.

Sep 25, 2011XP Pro SP2 New Install - No Internet Connection (Icon)I just did a full install of XP Pro SP2 on a new 3 TB drive. I have downloaded all the most recent drivers for this motherboard. I'm running an EVGA NForce 680i SLI Motherboard (model# 122-CK-NF68). However the problem Im having is that in the Network Connection window there is no 'icon' to configure for my ethernet connection. I have looked at the Device Manager and ALL components are working properly. There are no 'X' or '?' labelled on any of the Network devices. I have done a ton of research on this Forum and have tried a dozen things and still can't seem to figure it out. I dont have intermediate syndrome so I'm not willing to take any chances with something I don't know.
