Wireless Network Connection Icon Missing In HP Mini?
Jul 6, 2011I have a HP mini when i go into network connections the wireless icon is gone... I'm not sure what happen... I have already looked in the device manager and nothing is highlighted or has a ? or X.

Sep 8, 2011I'm using my home desktop to make this post. This is issue is with my Dell laptop that--up till an hour ago--had a wireless area connection icon in the lower right corner and a Wireless Area Network option when I went to "Network Connections" (I still have my LAN option.) I was using a Driver Whiz program to update all my drivers when it said I needed some Intel Wireless Config program. So I downloaded it but at the end I had no Internet access and no icon, etc. So I uninstalled that program but it was too late. I've even tried a system restore to a few hours prior to this mistake of mine to no avail. My husband says I need to connect hardwire to the Internet and download a WAN driver...is that correct?

Apr 7, 2013There is NO connection although Belkin Wireless Adaptor is blinking to catch signal.Whenever there is no connection, I need to click Belkins Utility at System tray at the bottom in order to get connection, however it does not keep connected and lasts only 10-20 minutes.Besides this, I found when I clicked, icon of Belkin > Properties > Network and found there is no 'Use Windows to configure my wireless network settings.

Feb 28, 2011I have a Gateway Notebook Model ML6720 that has built-in Wireless. The PC was heavily infected by Virus and I had to re-install Vista Operating system. Now, it will not detect the Wireless Adapter. I went to the maufacturer's website on another computer and downloaded the driver and installed the driver on the laptop. However, it did not work. The blue "wireless" light on the laptop is "lit", however when I go to "Device Manager" and look at the Network Drives, it only shows the wired Ethernet option.

Feb 4, 2013I have had a DIR-655 for years, and this is a treat - channeling everything from IPTV, to a fast fiber connection, transfers - no sweats.
Then I had to setup a router for a friend, and recommended the DIR-615.
Setup the router, and max it would connect with was 150mb - I changed the settings accordingly: auto channel scan channel width: auto 20/40mhz
So this "opened" up the 300mb speed - however only for 5 mins, then it falls down to 150mb.
My laptop (lenovo) connects to the dir-655 just fine at full speed, and this is also the machine I used for testing the dir-615.
It's ax Hx firmware, FW: 8.04
What I can conclude by using inssider, and xirrus wifi inspector is that it generates 2 channels - and then after 5mins of connectivity looses a channel, and then the speed drops.
I got a new router from the dealer, same issue. Then a friend of mine lent me an ancient dir-615, and interestingly enough this had the same configuration option of "Transmission rate" in the wireless settings page! Just like the dir-655. and also connects at 300mb...

Jan 15, 2010I had to Reinstall my windows Vista OS. My WNA was working prior to the OS reinstallation, so I am confused a bit. I have no idea how to reinstall drivers in order that dell gives me. I have downloaded the drivers from the Dell downloads section;however, I don't know what to do next. I tried to go to device manager and find network adapter, but it does not appear, only an "other" section with some ! marks next to them.

Aug 22, 2011I have a Sony Vaio VGNFW378D that runs with Windows Vista. Ever since I got this computer (about 2 yrs ago), I have had problems with it suddenly disconnecting from the internet. When this happens it could never detect any wireless networks and I would have to restart the computer to temporarily solve the problem. It usually happened after the computer was in hibernation.
Yesterday this happened again, only this time restarting the computer did not solve the problem. When I could not connect to a network I clicked on "Diagnose why Windows cannot find any additional networks" and it said "Install wireless networking hardware, and verify that the correct drivers are loaded".
I went onto the Sony website to download the Intel Wifi link 5100 AGN wireless LAN Driver and updates. The download was not successful and I received a message indicating that the latest updates of this driver were already installed in my computer.
Representatives at Sony only directed me to links that had steps to finding out what my problem was, which I followed with no success. Most of the steps included enabling the adapter in the device manager, uninstalling and reinstalling the driver, etc...I could not do any of these things because the driver does not appear in the device manager at all.

May 29, 2012Yesterday there was huge storm, and lightning smashed into nearby house. My computer was running and I turned it off just after that. Result of nearby lightning was that internet no longer worked afterwards.
Soon after I was able to connect on my laptop, (laptop was connected and turned on during storm too) but desktop was still unable to do so.
I noticed that in device manager there is missing network adapter in list. EVerything is connected as it should be, but ethernet port doesnt have any lights on. I believe there should be some small light on port as is on my laptop, but Im unsure.
how I could check whether my network card is ok? Or what could the problem be? I really hope its just software issue.

I reinstalled the OS without a problem, but after I could not connect to the internet because it said I was missing my network drivers.where I can get these drivers? I have Win 7 64bit.
