Need To Reset Wireless Connection Properties

Mar 27, 2011

I was trying to set up an ad hoc network and toyed around with some of the wireless network settings. The network I was trying to set up didn't quite work out so I tried to set it back to how they were but forgot how they were. Is there a way to delete the Wireless Network Connection and let it create a new one or is there a "standard" setting for this to strictly find a wireless network and connect to it?

My Local Area Connection Properties Freeze When I Press Ok

Jul 21, 2011

I have windows XP and my local area connection properties is freezing up ALL the time when I hit ok ,when I enter the ip address and default gateway and subnet manually. I uninstalled my wireless network adapters and disabled my firewall.My main concern is I am trying to get my computer wired for work at home jobs. I used to have it wirelessly. I am using my landlord's ethernet D link router connection from linkysys router to Dlink then to computer wired using an ethernet cable. She has it working for her. She has it going from her son's and it works. My computer says aquiring network address quite frequently. Yesterday it used to say connected but the internet said page cannot be displayed and for the results everything was ok but not the gateway.

Wireless Area Connection Icon Missing / Cannot Connect To Internet

Sep 8, 2011

I'm using my home desktop to make this post. This is issue is with my Dell laptop that--up till an hour ago--had a wireless area connection icon in the lower right corner and a Wireless Area Network option when I went to "Network Connections" (I still have my LAN option.) I was using a Driver Whiz program to update all my drivers when it said I needed some Intel Wireless Config program. So I downloaded it but at the end I had no Internet access and no icon, etc. So I uninstalled that program but it was too late. I've even tried a system restore to a few hours prior to this mistake of mine to no avail. My husband says I need to connect hardwire to the Internet and download a WAN driver...is that correct?

802.11n USB Wireless USB Networking Adapter Keeps Dropping Connection?

Nov 4, 2012

I have an 802.11n USB Wireless Lan card on a desktop with Windows 7 home premium 64-bit. Whenever im searching the web, say i go to NFL.Com to check my fantasy squad, the pages wont load, and i see my connection has been dropped, now every time i click on the signal bars on the bottom right hand corner, it says no connection, but after about 2 seconds of clicking on it, it connects again. So in order for me to get my connection back, i have to click on my signal bar to get it back, which is ridiculous. I have other computers in my home, all of which do not have this problem, so its definitely something in my desktop, i also have about 3 wireless adapters i've tested it on, all of which do the exact same thing on my desktop only. I've also went to power management under configuration for my USB adapter and turned off the ''Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power'', it still drops my connection every 3-5 minutes.

Linksys Wireless Adapters :: WMP300N No Power Management Tab Came Up In Its Properties Menu

May 10, 2009

I did a clean install of Windows 7 64-Bit the other day.  I installed all drivers that came with my PC's Hardware, all went smooth.  INCLUDING: Installing the original Linksys WMP300N Software/Driver Disc.  I'm not sure how it installed, since i have a 64-Bit OS.  It says that "This device is working properly", although no "Power Managment" tab came up in its Properties Menu.  I had to manually go to the Registry Editor and turn off Some "Power Saving Features", like it auto-turning off.  That's all i did an i'v had NO problems with it.   Although, I don't use the software, and never have, i prefer Microsofts. I'v also got a second PC with a different Linksys adapter(Non PCI One)working great on 32-Bit Win7.  How to get it to work on Windows 7?

Networking :: Wireless Networking On MT3707

Oct 23, 2011

I recently installed a very basic version of XP on my old laptop (Gateway MT3707).After hours of searching for the correct drivers, I found them, and installed them. After installing the correct drivers for wireless internet I was able to pull up the list and find my network on it.When double clicking on our wireless network it asks for a network key (also called WEP key or WPA key).Now we have a password for our network, but after an exhausting amount of tries that won't work. I not sure if that is what its looking for. In our apartment we run mac OSX, windows vista, etc., but usually the password for the network is satisfactory. I have never ran into this problem.I hate to be a noob, but I don't know where to go from here.

Lenovo 3000g430 - Local Area Connection Icon Is Missing

Sep 22, 2011

I have a Lenovo 3000g430. I went to the Network connections, and I cannot find Local area connect. We have a Broadband connection that we shared among our friends. Since there is not local area connection Icon, I am unable to connect to internet.In the Network connection, I can find Dial-up(Bluetooth connection and Nokia USB modem OTA); under LAN or High Speed Internet, there is only this Wireless network connection. All of these are working fine. I have checked the device manager and BIOS, everything seems fine and Enabled. To resolve this issue, I have visited many sites and downloaded a Device driver from Lenovo, Broadcom NetXtreme Gigabit Ethernet and installed it again, still no change.

Log-in screen is presented, but the desktop never appears on the client machine. Connecting the subject laptop via an Ethernet cable, cures the problem, and the connection succeeds, so we can rule out problems with RDT configuration, firewalls, and third party software. The laptop is a Dell D610, with a Dell 1370 WiFi built in. It has been configured so Windows manages the connections.

Powerline Networking Poor Connection?

May 20, 2012

I had an old Belkin wireless USB adapter that I used with it for the first few days, but I got tired of the slow speeds that I had always known to be associated with that card. So today I went and bought a CISCO PLEK400 powerline networking adapater. Brought it home, plugged it in to my router in my living room, plugged it into my PC in my bedroom, gave it a quick little test drive. First I went to speakeasy to test the up/down speed. Never more than 1.5Mbps down/1Mbps up. My laptop, running wirelessly through the same router, generally hits 20Mbps down and ~2Mbps up. So I plugged the ethernet cable into my laptop, to see if maybe it was the network card in my desktop that was faulty. Speakeasy speed test showed 1.5down/1up wired for laptop as well. Pinging google through command prompt, on either laptop OR desktop while wired, nets a ~300ms response time.

Cisco :: WLC 5508 / 3502i AP Properties

Apr 25, 2013

Devices Used;
WLC = 5508
AP - 3502I
Windows Clients = Windows 7

We are using WP2/AES for encryption and 802.1x for key management for our WLAN.  The question I have is, when I look at one of the client's properties through the WLC 5508,  then look at the  "AP properties", its says that its using; Authentication = Open System, and WEP state = wep enabled.  Why would the AP properties have open system and wep enabled when the WLAN is setup for WP2/AES???  There is also a "Security Information" Section just below the "AP properties" section and this lists the correct settings.  Are the "AP Properties" irrelevant in this case?
