Server name when checked by right clicking "My Computer" and selecting properties it was A.B.C but when i pinged from client system it showed system full name as a.x.y.z the IP address showed in ping was correct.so how can it be same computer name but different domains?i have problem with .net application connecting to Sql in server from client system.

The settings show on the screen temporarily but do not save.When I try to save the settings I get the message nothing is changed save anyway? If I press save I get a window that says the setting is saved wait seconds. When I hit continue, and check my settings nothing was saved.

When trying to add networked printers descriptions don't appear and can not find drivers. Tried turning off firewall - no change. Checked services and printer spooler set to automatic and running.
View 10 Replies View RelatedAs far as im aware the current set up of the network is two desktops connected to a router and the router is connected to a switch (i didnt assemble the network) Now what im trying to do is get onto the router so i can change the SSID for a wirless connection.i was told by the ISP i was to change my IP, DG and subnet from DHCP to a static setup they gave me, which i did. but when i go into the browser to access the net (and ultimatly put the IP into the adress bar to access the properties) the net connection fails and i cant get on. when i change back to DHCP the net works again but i cant configure the router with this IP because the company has forgoten the admin/password.

We are using WP2/AES for encryption and 802.1x for key management for our WLAN. The question I have is, when I look at one of the client's properties through the WLC 5508, then look at the "AP properties", its says that its using; Authentication = Open System, and WEP state = wep enabled. Why would the AP properties have open system and wep enabled when the WLAN is setup for WP2/AES??? There is also a "Security Information" Section just below the "AP properties" section and this lists the correct settings. Are the "AP Properties" irrelevant in this case?

I was using those two connection on the same computer. Now i office Network admin came and changed the Setting from the LAN Propertied. he removed the default gateway of my server IP address from DNS Server and he gave that ip address to the Default gateway in the LAN Propertied tab. I uninstalled my wireless network adapters and disabled my firewall.My main concern is I am trying to get my computer wired for work at home jobs. I used to have it wirelessly. I am using my landlord's ethernet D link router connection from linkysys router to Dlink then to computer wired using an ethernet cable. She has it working for her. She has it going from her son's and it works. My computer says aquiring network address quite frequently. View 6 Replies View RelatedI did a clean install of Windows 7 64-Bit the other day. I installed all drivers that came with my PC's Hardware, all went smooth. INCLUDING: Installing the original Linksys WMP300N Software/Driver Disc. I'm not sure how it installed, since i have a 64-Bit OS. It says that "This device is working properly", although no "Power Managment" tab came up in its Properties Menu. I had to manually go to the Registry Editor and turn off Some "Power Saving Features", like it auto-turning off. That's all i did an i'v had NO problems with it. Although, I don't use the software, and never have, i prefer Microsofts. I'v also got a second PC with a different Linksys adapter(Non PCI One)working great on 32-Bit Win7. How to get it to work on Windows 7?

My old gigabit NIC on my old computer shows all, 10s, 100s, and 1000s and the auto. They tried to fix it and even changed the driver but it still is not showing the 1000s. Their option was to change the motherboard with a refurbished one and my computer was just bought just 2 months ago. The original computer had 12GB memory, I7, AMD graphics card, 460 PSU. no blue-ray, no usb 3. The new setup is 16GB memory, I7, Nvidia GeForce GT 550 Ti, Usb 3, Blue-ray, I think 800 PSU.I am running Win 7 Home Premium 64. I have a Gigabit connection from my internet service so I wanted the NIC to go that fast too. The specs shows the computer to have a Gigabit NIC but the properties is not showing the 1000s.

View 5 Replies View RelatedI set this up and I can ping all the gateways but never the hosts. I was hoping I could make these links between 6500's a mix of L2 and L3. Check it out. They are connected in a linear fashion R1--->R2--->R3. I can ping from R1 to R3's SVI4 gateway but I can never ping a host on that SVI4. I was hoping that I could use the port-channels between 6500's as routed links or as trunk links depending on the type of traffic....thought it would ease the migration. I suppose I could always get rid of the port-channels and just make separate L2 and L3 links between the 6500's.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI had both a Westell 7500 and a Linksys Router working fine and had my 360 setup as an extender for Windows Media Center so I could stream TV, Music, Movies, etc from my desktop to the 360. Then I switched my modem/router out with a Zyxel PH5001Z
So now today I noticed that I can no longer find my desktop through the XBox. I have adjusted my firewall settings on the modem itself, even completely disabling it. UPnP is enabled for the 360 and the device is showing under my device table. At first I wasn't able to ping any network devices but after creating an ICMPv4 Firewall rule it worked fine. I've confirmed the XBox IP Address through Network Map, the Device Table on the modem and through Network Settings on the XBox. I've diabled my modem firewall as well as Windows Firewall, completely and I still can't ping my XBox or set it up as an Extender.
I have the XBox connected wirelessly using WPA2-Personal and it's operating in 802.11g/n mode.
I have a Active Directory user that cannot log onto any computer that's on my organizational domain. The error is "You cannot log on because the logon method you are using is not allowed on this computer"
